My Beast Evolution System

Chapter 14: 14. Obtaining A New Skill.

"What is that?" Diana asked.

"A mana crystal," Aaron replied and didn't say anything else.

Diana glanced around with a weary expression on her face. "We really should leave now, if there are more demonic beasts around, they will definitely come here."

Aaron nodded in understanding. "Let's go," He said and everyone headed back to town.

The journey back to town was uneventful and as they approached the gates, the guards let them in with relieved nods.

Everyone's eyes lingered on the herbs and supplies the three were carrying. A small smile also appeared on their faces after they noticed that the Baron's son and the elf princess had been successful in retrieving some important herbs from the dark forest.

Luna hurried to hug her brother the moment she saw that they had returned, and the four of them walked toward the mansion.

Inside the mansion, Aaron placed the mana crystal on the table to take a better look at it while Aurora began sorting the herbs she had gathered.

As for Diana, she leaned against the wall with her arms crossed underneath her breasts and silently watched what the two were doing.

"This is a good start," Aaron said as he looked at the yellow-colored mana crystal he was holding. "I heard these were extremely difficult to find but I never expected to find one so soon."

"Yeah, you are lucky to have found one. Because mana crystals are always consumed by large magical beasts and this makes them extremely difficult to find. Most territorial beasts like to migrate to places with a high amount of mana in them."

"Oh, that explains why the wolves' den hadn't been too far from there."

"Yes, they were probably trying to protect the mana crystals they had in their territory."

"Hmm, that makes sense," He said before looking at the mana crystal once again. "This is just the beginning, we'll have to reclaim the farmlands to acquire a lot more mana crystals."

"And we will," Diana said with determination.

Listening to their conversation, Aurora looked up at Aaron. "Thank you, Aaron, for leading us out there."

Aaron turned around and met her gaze. He had been surprised by the sincerity in Aurora's voice, but he praised their collective strength as a group rather than what he did alone. "You're welcome, but we all did our part."

Aaron had always thought the princess didn't like him, but after hearing her statement, he could see that the princess was viewing him in a different light now.

Glimmer hopped onto the table to nuzzle Aaron's arms and he smiled as he scratched her behind her ears. "And you too as well, Glimmer. You helped a lot today and you keep proving to be more useful than I had expected you to be."

Glimmer rubbed her body against him even more, and a system notification popped up in front of him.

[Congratulations to the host, your Glimmerfox's loyalty has risen to 20%.]

[Your Glimmerfox has also unlocked a new skill {Scout's Insight}.]

[You have received an additional 10 bond energy points.]

[Cumulative bond energy point is now 20 bond energy points.]

[The host has also obtained a new skill {Scout Insight}.]

[Scout Insight:- This skill allows you and your bonded beast to detect hidden threats or enemies within a limited radius.]

The moment he read the details of the skills, Aaron could feel a surge of energy flowing into his body and he was amazed by how he had acquired a new skill with Glimmer's loyalty currently at just 20%.

He wondered what other type of skills he would be able to obtain once Glimmer's loyalty rose to 30 or 40%, or even after she finally experienced her first evolution.

'Nah, there's no time to think about that right now.'

'I need to focus on what's more important right now.'

'Anyways, this new skill looks cool in a way but I wonder what it can do,' Aaron closed his eyes and focused on trying to activate the new ability he had obtained. But to his surprise, the moment he opened his eyes, Aaron could see two astral projections of himself standing before him.

Both projections were like holographic images of himself, but Aaron also noticed that he could see exactly what they could see, and now it seemed like he was looking at himself sitting on the chair, still patting Glimmer.

He turned around and noticed the girls couldn't see the holographic projections in front of him, and this made him realize that he was the only one who could see them.

Actually, Glimmer could also see them because she raised her head the moment she noticed the two lookalikes of Aaron in front of her.

'Alright, let's see how far these two can go.'

On his command, the two holographic projections walked around the room before leaving the room to check out the corridor.

After about three minutes of doing this, the two holograms dispersed into thin air like they were never there and this was when Aaron noticed a few things about this new ability of his.

The skill could only last for about a period of five minutes and within this five minutes, there was a limited amount of distance the holograms could go before dispersing into thin air.

The holograms couldn't speak or fight, so they had no mind of their own and would only do as Aaron commanded them to do.

With this thought in mind, Aaron leaned back in the chair he was sitting on before noticing a new screen in front of him.

[Would you like to take a look at your status?]

'Yes,' He replied and his details and new skills were displayed in front of him.
