Chapter 170: Taming the Mahayana
The leaders of the Five Sects and Eighteen Clans felt the pressure of being controlled, each with a sullen expression, looking deeply displeased.
"Don't just stand there, please have a seat, have a seat!" Yang Ji gestured with his hand.
Seeing the crowd exchanging cold glances, unmoved, Demon Shadow introduced from the side in a cool tone, "This is Lord Hei Sha, your new commander, and your new sovereign."
As soon as the word "sovereign" was uttered, everybody's expressions grew colder, their eyes filled with endless fury and murderous intent, as if they wished to tear the two apart on the spot.
Yang Ji saw this scene and chuckled, "Let's not be so serious, everyone. I've invited you all here today to get to know each other a bit. Please, take a seat."
While speaking, he also surreptitiously activated the Life-Death Talisman, and suddenly, the faces of the people below all showed pain.
Seeing this, Yang Ji chuckled inwardly and withdrew his power immediately after testing them. This subtle show of force was to make the people realize the situation and understand that he could control their lives and deaths.
He didn't force anyone, giving them enough face. If they didn't know better, the pain they just experienced would serve as a warning.
Everyone was shocked, for although the pain had been brief, it was enough to terrify them. As they looked up at Yang Ji again, their expressions had unwittingly changed.
While the anger in their eyes had not diminished, their expressions now contained a hint of wariness. They braced themselves internally, realizing that opposing the man before them would do them no good.
Since the man before them wore a smile, they decided not to stand on ceremony. With heavy hearts, they exchanged glances and let out a breath of murky air before slowly taking their seats.
Looking at Yang Ji, no one said a word, nor was there any sound of flattery.
Yang Ji raised his eyes and surveyed the room, then slowly descended from the King's Throne and came to the center of the great hall. Observing the information displayed above everyone's heads, he shook his head and sighed deeply,
"Meeting for the first time, and you've already thought of countless ways to harm me. I'm truly disappointed."
"Old man, you must be the Supreme Elder of the Yuhua Sect, right? Right now, don't you just wish you could rise up and slay me, press my corpse down for tens of thousands of years, and grind my ashes a ten thousand times to quell your anger?"
"At your age, why bother with such anger?"
Yang Ji said with a smile, ignoring the elder's horrified change of expression, and turned his gaze to a woman, saying,
"They say beautiful women are the most deceitful, and now I've seen it for myself. Do you plan to seduce me with your charms, and then secretly administer the poison of lust and desire to trap me in your gentle embrace, rendering me unable to extricate myself, and then control me?"
"Hmm... I must say, you do have a stunning figure, full and curvaceous, fair and plump, quite enchanting. It's a pity you're a bit too old; I doubt you'll succeed in seducing me."

"You..." The beautiful woman, her inner thoughts exposed in a single glance, suddenly turned pale and stared at Yang Ji in shock.
Yang Ji paid her no more attention and instead looked towards an elder with white hair and white beard, exuding an imposing aura and a face of coldness, and smiled, saying,
"You're the Supreme Elder of the Tyrant Blade Sect, aren't you? You think I'm just a naive youth, showing off in front of you, simply asking for death?"
"Hey, uncle, wake up. You're under my control now. Can you give me a bit of face?"
"Hmm?" The elder was startled, his piercing eyes suddenly narrowing as he took a deeper look at Yang Ji.
"And you! You must be the Supreme Elder of the Tailin Sect, right? Are you considering using the Inner World to imprison me in an instant, then find a way to control it and regain your freedom?" As Yang Ji turned his head to look at a dignified middle-aged man, his pondering expression suddenly froze, staring at Yang Ji in disbelief.
"It's a good idea to take the initiative, but I suggest you don't do it. You might imprison my body, but not my mind. I can take your lives in an instant if I wish. If you don't want to die, advise him for me."
As Yang Ji spoke, he bombarded the imposing middle-aged man's brain with a strong will, so powerful that it shocked him, "You, you..." At this moment, he realized that Yang Ji wasn't lying. He definitely couldn't suppress Yang Ji's consciousness in an instant, and his own scheming came to naught.
Without paying further attention to him, Yang Ji looked towards another elder who seemed lost in thought, saying, "And you, the Supreme Elder of the Giant Sword Sect, right? Stop pondering. You absolutely can't dispel the control technique on yourself." He continued with gentle admonishment, "Oh, right, and you'd better not seek help from the Dao Sect.
Such action would not only invite disaster upon yourself but might also implicate your entire sect in a massacre. Moreover, the Dao Sect may not be able to release it. At your age, don't take that risk."
The elder with a benevolent face trembled silently upon hearing this and turned several shades paler.
The gathering of Mahayana looked at each other, deeply shaken in their hearts. The dignified middle-aged man sent a horrified telepathic message, "This kid is evil; he seems to know our inner thoughts?"
"Truly evil. This kid read my thoughts clear as day, knowing I wanted to rise up and slay him," the Supreme Elder of the Yuhua Sect said gravely.
"This demonic brat is no simple matter. When he looked at me, he exerted pressure like facing a Tribulation Immortal," said the Supreme Elder of the Tyrant Blade Sect solemnly.
"Let's put aside the thoughts in our minds for now and see what he has to say. If he intends to enslave us, then we have no choice but to perish with our integrity intact," suggested the Supreme Elder of the Haoran Sect, a glint of resignation in his eyes.
