Ara... huh?" Vanica's eyes widened in utter disbelief, her usual bravado faltering as the unexpected attack caught her off guard.

Unbelievable

From a safe distance, Loropechka and her two companions watched the battlefield unfold in stunned silence. What played out before them was beyond comprehension. They had witnessed countless battles and faced formidable foes, yet nothing in their experience compared to this.

Vanica's overwhelming power was an undeniable force, a torrent of malevolence that surpassed their wildest fears. But Alex? He was something else entirely. A monstrosity among monsters.

He fought like an apex predator, effortlessly suppressing the devil host even as she unleashed strength that would break lesser beings.

"What a monster," Undine whispered, awe mingling with dread.

"70%!" Vanica's triumphant cry rang out, despite the wounds that marred her body. Her grin widened as her form began to shift and darken.

"Interesting," came a sudden, ominous voice.

Vanica stiffened. "Megicula?!"

The devil's voice was calm yet brimming with intrigue. "It appears our contract is interfering with the resonance between me and him."

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Vanica demanded.

"Nothing," Megicula dismissed her with an eerie chuckle, her focus locked on Alex. "I thought he was merely a strong human. But those eyes, that hair, and this ferocious mana... No, our opponent is no ordinary mortal."

"WHAAAT?!" Vanica's shocked expression mirrored the disbelief echoing in the air.

Megicula's amusement deepened. "The human world truly is full of surprises."

Alex raised his sword high, chaotic energy surging around the blade like a storm unbound. His smile turned wicked, a harbinger of destruction. "If you have any tricks left, use them now. Because even I can't stop myself from what comes next."

Vanica's grin stretched wider, her bloodlust unabated. "Seventy percent is all I can manage? How disappointing!" Crimson magic flared around her, ancient runes branding her skin.

Alex clicked his tongue. "Tch. A shame. It would've been more fun to fight Megicula directly."

Vanica's eyes sparkled with glee. "Did you hear that, Megicula? He wants to fight you!"

Whoosh Whoosh

Alex effortlessly shattered a volley of bloody spears with a single, precise swing. His voice carried a scornful edge. "Is that all you've got?"

"NOT EVEN CLOSE!" Vanica roared, charging forward. Flashing in front of him at a speed that would put Mereoleona to shame, her eyes gleamed with a dangerous light as she swiped her claw at his face.

Extending the length of her claws at the last minute, she hoped that the sudden increase in range would catch him off guard.

But who the hell did she think she was fighting?!

Alex was no ordinary opponent.

Bang!

His blade cut through her bloody claw with ease, severing the magic and rendering it inert. The blood fell lifelessly to the ground, severed from her control.

'What?!' Vanica's mind raced and she began her control over that portion of blood.

Alex's voice snapped her out of her daze. "Daydreaming in front of me?" His blade crackled with scarlet lightning as he swung it downward with lethal intent. "It's over!"

Just before the final blow landed, an oppressive, sickening sensation filled the air. A twisted voice chuckled darkly. "…What an interesting specimen you are."

Curse-Warding Magic: Decaying World!

An ominous purple light erupted, runes bursting from Vanica's form to ensnare Alex. The strands coiled around him like serpents, binding him tightly.

"Abraham!!" Loropechka and Undine's panicked cries echoed as the scene took a dire turn. Vanica's eyes gleamed with sadistic glee.

"Fufufufu," An unfamiliar, distorted laugh spilled from her lips. The right side of her face darkened, her hair turning half-white. "Now then," she cooed, "how shall I toy with you?"

Despite hearing the tonal change in her voice and seeing that the right side of her face had turned completely black while half of her hair had become white, Alex's grin didn't waver.

"Megicula, I presume."

"Oh?" The devil's smile widened as she stepped closer. Her fingers traced his cheek, a mockery of tenderness. "Even bound, you radiate defiance. Fascinating. I must uncover what you truly are."

"What are you doing, Megicula?!" Vanica's voice snarled from within. "It was just getting good!"

"Hush, Vanica," Megicula replied, her tone dripping with condescension. "If I hadn't intervened, do you truly think you'd survive?"

"THAT'S NOT THE POINT!" Vanica's frustration boiled over.

"Isn't it?" Megicula smiled and asked.

"No!" Vanica was clearly annoyed by getting interfered with during the amazing battle.

"I see… But isn't better to take a closer look at such a fine specimen?"

"But I want to continue fighting him." She whined.

"Hush now. Let me put a curse on him so that we can bring him back with u-" Megicula chuckled, stroking Alex's face again.

A cold, contemptuous snort cut her off. "Devour."

A surge of black energy erupted from Alex, devouring the runes and shattering the curse that bound him. The air grew heavy with raw, unyielding power.

"He overpowered my curse?!" Megicula's shock turned to exhilaration. "Magnificent!"

Alex's grin turned feral. "Now, the real fun begins!"

He roared, unleashing an overwhelming torrent of mana. The ground quaked as space itself distorted and spiraled.

Boom Boom

BOOOMM!!

The sheer intensity of mana shattered the space itself as it began to twist into swirls.

"Raawr!!" A beastly roar came from Alex's throat as he continued to release more and more power.

The storm of power warped the battlefield, shaking all present to their core. His beastly roar reverberated through the chaos.

"Such power!" Vanica's awe was palpable.

'He's no human!'

Megicula's composure faltered as Alex's strength surged beyond anything she had encountered.

The air trembled with his raw energy!

"Mana storm!" Megicula gasped. "He's disrupting the very world's mana! This is... impossible!"

'To cause such a reaction in the world's mana, he's DANGEROUS!'

Finding that the situation was becoming increasingly more disadvantageous to them, Megicula's interest rose even higher as she thrust her hand forward unleashing a torrent of rune strands his way.

But as they neared Alex, they dissolved instantly, absorbed into the abyss of his power.

"Dangerous," Megicula murmured, her eyes alight with twisted admiration. "Utterly dangerous."
