My Lost Omega [BL]

Chapter 10: Finally See Him Again

Elias stood at the side of the street, his helmet already on, ready to go. He held the phone in his hand, pretending to scroll through something, just so that he didn't appear weird and suspicious to the passersby, standing in place and doing nothing, but his eyes were focused on the entrance to the building a bit further down the street.

It was almost about time. The day before, at this hour, Axel left his work and stopped by Elias' coffee shop. So, any time now…

And there he was. That tall, attractive silhouette and that shiny, golden hair. Axel stepped out of the building, and got into the car, which was already waiting for him right in front.

Elias stuffed his phone back in his pocket, put on the gloves, and jumped on his motorcycle, trailing after the car.

Was it a risky move? Perhaps. There was a chance Axel or his driver could notice him, and then, while he could brush it off as a coincidence - he was just heading in the same direction, that's all! - it would still appear… odd.

But he was impatient. After waiting for so long, he really couldn't stand it anymore. He had to at least catch a glimpse of his son…

He followed the car, keeping a safe distance, but never letting it out of his sight.

It was the afternoon rush time, and the streets were filled to the brim with cars, making the traffic unbearably slow. Trailing after Axel's car, Elias was growing increasingly nervous, his fingers tightening around the hand grip…

Was it really a good idea? He was definitely going to get caught this way, wasn't he? After all the effort he put into coming back, going so far as to open his coffee shop in front of the Chandlers' company's main office, despite the high costs of renting commercial spaces in that area… And was he going to ruin it all just because of his impatience?

…He should turn back, right? Turn back, while he still could. Turn back and…

Before he could make up his mind though, Axel's car pulled over, and Elias instinctively did the same, instantly regretting it as soon as he stopped his motorcycle. He should have just carried on, pass Axel, and ride away, because if the car stopped because they had noticed him…

But no. Luckily, it wasn't the case. The reason they pulled over was simply that they arrived at their next stop, that is, in front of a colorful kindergarten sign.

Elias momentarily exhaled with relief, only for his chest to tighten a second later. A kindergarten. That meant…

The door opened, and Axel stepped out, walking through the gate and into the building. Elias' eyes followed him closely, and only once the Alpha disappeared inside, did Elias remember that he should at least PRETEND to do something, so that he wouldn't look suspicious to the passersby, or Axel's driver. So, he took out his phone, and started mindlessly scrolling, while constantly glancing at the kindergarten's door in anticipation.

Until the door finally opened again.

And there he was, a little boy with a head full of chestnut curls, just like Elias', saying something excitedly to Axel, as the man led him by the hand - which required him to slouch his shoulders, because he was too tall for the boy to reach his hand otherwise!

Elias' heart squeezed painfully, his chest so tight that for a moment he couldn't even breathe.

Ollie… After five long years, Elias could finally see his son again.

He stared at the pair, as they walked down the stairs. Ollie almost tripped, but thanks to Axel holding his hand tightly, he was caught in time. Then scolded for being reckless, it seemed, judging by Axel waving his finger and Ollie pouting his lips, lowering his head - he was so cute Elias instantly melted - and then walked toward the gate, hand in hand.

Only once they were about to walk out onto the street and get in the car did Elias remember to take a photo - after all, who knows when he'd have a chance to see Ollie again? He couldn't exactly wander around the kindergarten, or he'd be taken for some creep! He lifted his phone discreetly and snapped a few quick shots.

Then, just as the car was about to leave, he got off his motorcycle, and walked into the nearest shop. He had already seen Ollie, so there was no point in pushing his luck to follow the car any further.

He spent some time in the shop, picking up a few random things, just so that he wouldn't appear odd, and returned home. He nodded at Rose, his assistant manager, who was there to supervise the afternoon shift, and passed through the staff areas, entering the tiny room at the back, where he currently resided. He dumped all of his savings into opening the shop, so there wasn't anything left for him to rent himself a decent studio… Well, it's not like he wasn't used to being poor, so he didn't mind.

He tossed his jacket to the side, exhaustion settling in as all the tension dropped, and went into his private bathroom, which was so tiny there wasn't even any space for the door. In front of an old, scratched mirror, he took off his fake piercings, washed off his makeup, and finally, took off his choker hiding his pheromone patch.

"Auch!" he couldn't help but wince, hissing from pain, as he slowly removed the patch from the back of his neck. He twisted his body in front of the mirror, trying to take a good look at his nape, which was red and swollen.

"This one as well?" he muttered with disappointment, tossing the used patch into the pin. So far, every pheromone patch brand he has tried has given him an allergic reaction… And this one seemed to be the worst of them all.

Of course, he didn't have to wear them. He was already taking strong suppressants, which stopped his heat cycle, his production of pheromones, and even made him more resistant toward Alphas' pheromones. However, two layers of protection were better than one! Because, if by any chance, even a tiny whiff of his pheromones got out… If it was in front of an Omega, then it'd probably be fine, they would likely understand Elias, and stay quiet… But an Alpha?

No, Elias couldn't take such a risk! Even if it hurt, he had to wear the pheromone patch!

He sighed, wiping his face dry, and threw himself on his bed - that is, the mattress lying on the ground. And instantly hissed, as his sensitive nape hit the pillow. Ignoring the urge to scratch his neck, Elias rolled over to the side, pulling out his phone and scrolling through the photos he took earlier. Seeing his son's face, although a bit blurry, a smile instantly appeared on his face, and he completely forgot about the pain.

For the first time in a long while, he fell asleep quickly, and he slept peacefully until he woke up well-rested at the crack of dawn.
