My one and only highschool love, has become my husband.

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 eye contact

Aria ascended the stairs to her room, changed her clothes, and then came downstairs. "Mom, I'm home," she said, smiling as she hugged her mother.

Her mother's words were cut off mid-sentence as she noticed Aria had already changed out of her uniform. She shook her head and continued, "You come back and shower, hmm? Good girl. But you always sneak behind my back after you come home, right? Let me teach you a lesson. Come here, come here."

Aria's mother left what she was doing in the kitchen and started chasing Aria around, from the kitchen to the backyard. Aria laughed and complained, "Hahaha, Mother, stop chasing me! I'm tired."

Her mother abruptly stopped and walked slowly over to where Aria was standing, heaving and breathless. She started tickling Aria until tears rolled down her eyes. "Mom, mom, please! I won't do it again, please! Hahahaha."

After dinner, Aria went to her room to study. Meanwhile, in a big mansion, Ace sat on a black couch in his room, staring blankly ahead as he breathed slowly. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, followed by a voice. "Bro, are you there?"

"Yes, Alex, come in," Ace replied. The door opened, and his brother walked in. "Bro, can I borrow your camera, please?" Alex made a cute expression, but it didn't work on his brother.

Ace declared, "No." Alex looked hurt and said, "Bro, how can you do that to me?" He crawled to his brother's knees, looking up at him with big, round eyes. Ace knew his brother wouldn't give up until he said yes.

"I'll think about it," Ace said firmly. But Alex was relentless. "Bro, please. I'll bring it back safe, I promise." Ace looked at his brother and sighed. "Fine, stop doing that." He walked to the drawer, took out the camera, and handed it to Alex. "Bring it back safe, or else."

Alex hurriedly said, "I will, I will!" and quickly left the room.

The next morning, Aria yawned, stretched, and got out of bed. After showering and brushing her teeth, she put on her uniform and came downstairs, smiling. "Mother, good morning," she said, sitting down at the dining table.

Her mother asked, "Is your brother up?" Aria replied, "Yes, mom, he's looking at me without saying a word." She flicked her brother's forehead, and he pouted, "Don't touch me! I don't like you flicking my forehead; it hurts!"

After breakfast, Aria and her brother Max left for school. After dropping off Max, Aria headed to her own school. As she got out of the cab, she made her way to her classroom. Finding it empty, she decided to take a tour of the school, singing to herself.

As she walked around, she noticed a crowd gathering in the center of the school. Curious, she walked over to see what was happening. There, she saw the school's gang members engaged in a fierce fight. Standing at the back of the crowd, she watched as one of them delivered a high kick, sending his opponent crashing to the ground.

Ace walked over to the fallen boy, looked down at him, and said, "Do you see him on the ground like a plump? Next time, do as I do." He gestured to one of his gang members, who walked forward and nodded. "Yes, thank you, Ace."

Ace smirked at the boy on the ground. "Mind your business, small boy." As he stood up and turned to walk away, but his eyes locked with Aria's. The stare lasted for a few seconds, and Aria didn't back down.

Their eyes locking in a tense stare. Despite feeling taken aback by his intense gaze, Aria stood her ground, refusing to back down. She knew she wasn't a coward, and she wouldn't let him intimidate her, no matter how handsome or feared he was. Aria was shy as a girl because of the way he looked at her, but she wouldn't let that stop her from standing up for herself, especially against a boy. She was determined not to admit defeat.

Just then, the boy who had been kicked to the ground spoke up, his voice loud and angry. "You think you're tough, Ace? You think you can just kick me around and get away with it? I'll make sure to teach you a lesson. You know who I am, don't you?"

Ace turned to face him, a hint of a smile on his lips. The boy sneered and stormed off, leaving Ace watching him with an unreadable expression.
