My one and only highschool love, has become my husband.

Chapter 4: Cheaper 4 blushing

As Aria walked towards the lunchroom, she didn't notice Ace standing in her path, his leg subtly positioned to trip her. Her left shoe hooked under his foot, and she was mere meters away from falling when a large hand encircled her waist from behind, turning her around. Aria's hands instinctively grasped his shoulders for support.

With her eyes closed, Aria slowly opened them, her eyelashes fluttering like wings. She gazed straight into the face in front of her, her eyes wandering across the magnificent features. Returning to his beautiful eyes, she saw her own reflection staring back, like a clear mirror.

Ace, too, was captivated by her eyes. As seconds passed, he felt an inexplicable pull, as if a string was drawing him closer. He couldn't tear his gaze away from her bright, shining eyes. Snapping back to reality, Ace realized his intentions and slowly raised her to stand straight, retracting his hand from her waist.

Aria stood frozen, unsure how to react. She continued to stare at Ace, afraid he'd disappear if she blinked. Clearing his throat, Ace asked in a deep voice, "Are you alright?" Aria took a moment to gather her thoughts before responding slowly, "Yes, thanks. I'm alright. I'll get going."

Ace flashed a charming smile, and Aria turned around, quickly hurrying away like a village girl who'd seen a handsome city boy. Meanwhile, someone watched the scene unfold without blinking, eager to spread the juiciest gossip ever.

In the lunchroom, Aria joined Helena and Reyans, who'd collected her food. "Thanks, guys," Aria said, digging in, though her mind was elsewhere. After a few bites, she slowed down, lost in thought, replaying the earlier encounter. Her cheeks flushed red as she relived the moment.

Noticing Aria's distraction, Helena asked, "Aria, are you alright?" Aria snapped back to reality, responding with a smile, "Yeah, I'm alright. Why do you ask?" Helena pointed out Aria's unusual behavior, and Aria reassured her, "I'm seriously alright. Nothing to bother about."

As they chatted, Aria walked home, greeted by her mother and brother watching a movie together. Her brother, excited to see her, ran to hug her, climbing onto her back. Aria teased him, refusing to give him sweets, but eventually relented, and he eagerly searched her bag.

As they sat together, Aria's mother watched her children, and Aria's mind began to wander back to the incident at school. She blushed, remembering the romantic scene unfolding on TV, where the male lead caught the female lead in his arms, gazing into her eyes.
