Naagin (rise of the serpent)

Chapter 43: CHAPTER FORTY-THREE: THE AFTERMATH

Both Josh and Justin stared at me in disbelief. They seemed quite lost in their own world of thoughts, trying hard to believe the possibility of a human standing a few meters before them.

Josh was the first to wake up from his cloud of disbelief. He opened his mouth and closed it up immediately maybe trying to say something.

"It's quite hard to believe that we are standing right before a human. Long since I saw creatures like them" Justin said and for the first time, flicked his snake tongue.

Though, I was surprised that when being in a half snake form, one could still flick his or her snake tongue. I've never really tried that before. I usually thought,a snake could actually flick it's tongue when being in it's full snake form, but Justin's action proved that wrong.

Justin crawled a little closer, followed by Josh who seemed interested in me.

I took some steps back, not wanting to be closer to them.

"Let's try questioning it" Josh whispered which fortunately I could hear.

Justin gave a nod and they both kept moving closer to me.

When they were about five meters away from me,they stopped and they both stared simultaneously at me.

Looking up,my gaze went up and landed on the incoming storm. A storm was coming in the direction of the hill and as expected, the storm was coming from the dark forest that was at the left side of the hill.

Normally,a storm hovered above the forest, shooting lightnings and thunder to the forest below. But somehow, the storm moved in the direction, slowly approaching the hill.

Surprisingly, the two male snakes were not bothered about the incoming storm.

I withdrew my gaze from the storm up ahead and settled it on the two male snakes. I glared at them and they glared back at me, but this time in disgust.

"Now, it's time to answer some questions, human" Justin says with a mischievous smirk.

What followed his smirk took me by surprise.

Justin, suddenly uncoiled his snake tail and shot it right at me in an incomprehensible speed. His snake tail immediately seized my waist, lifting me up effortlessly.

I held on to his tail, scared that I might fall while sending him a confused glare.

His tail held me tightly as if in a bid to squeeze me or break my bones. But his snake tail's grip on me didn't really hurt.

"Now, human. Start talking, who are you?" Justin asked roughly but not with a cold voice.

I didn't answer. I simply stared at him, sending him a glare that clearly told him to drop me down.

"Don't get me angry, human. Who are you and why are you here?" Justin asked again, getting infuriated that I wasn't saying anything. "I could easily kill you without thinking twice".

I didn't say anything as expected and I tried not to allow his threat get to me. I stared at him, deeply accessing him.

He got even more angry but unlike Josh who had a smirk plastered on his face. Josh didn't seem angry but his smirk explained his killing intent.

As the seconds passed by, he flicked his snake tongue a few times. He held Justin's arm trying to calm him down for a while to which Justin succumbed to.

"Tell me, human. Who are you and why are you here? Don't keep me silent because I am trying to subdue my anger. Looking at you, I can smell that you aren't an ordinary human" Josh said crawling closer and stopping just a few inches from me.

I stared into Josh's white eyes with a smile on my face.

I had already made my decision, never to say a word. Though, I knew my silence would terribly anger the two male snakes.

Justin, seeing that I wasn't saying anything, he angrily flung me away, releasing my body from his tail's grip.

I fell very hard on the rough surface of the peach tree trunk. My head hitting it's trunk, causing my head to bleed. I would have lost consciousness, but I tried keeping my will together in order not to loose it.

Somehow,my eyes were getting blurry and I tried opening them also not to loose consciousness.

Can't actually believe that Arizona brought me here to die in this snake world. How in the world will I find Hijirar, the snake god in a world full of snakes? And to think that snakes and humans aren't really in a good relationship.

Breaking out of my thoughts and gathering energy, I stood up. Though, I stumbled, but I was able to get back on my feet.

Turning back,my eyes landed on the two male snakes. They gave me an evil smile which sent chills down my body.

Josh slowly advanced towards me with his two scaly arms folded. "My guts tell me, you found your way into Hijirar's Abode for a reason. Despite the fact that I still don't know who you are,why and how you came to the snake world, I still feel there is more to you than being human".

An angry Justin also crawled towards me. His eyes were glowing green and I was sure to feel a killing intent all over him.

Not expecting it again, Justin wrapped his green snake tail around me, lifting me up just like he did last time.

But this time, I felt an agonizing pain all over me, making me to shudder in pain. But, I got to understand that Justin was actually using his tail in squeezing my body.

He tightened his tail's grip on me, adding more pain to the pain I was feeling. But I made sure to bear the pain despite how unbearable it seems.

"You seem to be strong, human" Josh chuckled as he watched the way Justin squeezed my fragile body.

"She isn't worth my venting of power. I would make her death, slow and steady" Justin's monotone voice rang out with rage.

I didn't say anything as usual. All I focused on was, trying to bear the pain I was feeling. And as the seconds passed, the pain increased which somewhat made me think twice about saying something.

Josh put his arm on Justin's shoulder while sending him a nod. Justin understanding the action only smiled broadly. His glowing green eyes, were glowing with more power.

"Try not to kill the human Justin. I already sent a message to General Lichi that we found a human. He would be here with his army in no time" Josh Informed the angry male snake. "But I will give you permission in torturing the human until they are here".

Justin grinned hearing Josh's words. He grinned with a slight growl emerging from his throat.

From my own perspective, it seems that Justin had some kind of an anger towards humans. And he was directing that anger towards me.

Josh only watched with a grin on his face as Justin continued to squeeze me,on the verge of breaking my bones. The pain was unbearable and I couldn't hold it anymore. I had tried my best not to scream ever since but it seems the I can't bear it anymore.

"How does it feel, human? To be squeezed to death by a snake?" Justin asked with a victorious grin, seeing that I was undeniably getting weaker.

I didn't say anything as my eyes were getting blurry again and this time, it felt like I had exhausted all of my energy.

"You brought this on yourself. Only if you had answered our little questions and not keep us quiet, then I wouldn't be torturing you like this. I would have only handed you to the snake army safe and sound but you choose to bring this on yourself" Justin smiled at his own sayings and I couldn't help but curse the very day he was born (as a snake).

The storm was just right above the hill and the hill was already getting quite windy. This time, the two male snakes noticed the storm and a perplexed expression lay on their faces. The wind blew roughly against the top of the hill, almost removing the peach tree as it passed by.

Lightnings seemed to light up the dark clouded sky and the thunder seemed to be shouting down on the hill. Though,it wasn't raining.

Justin held me tightly lest I get blown away from his tail's grip by the wind. Both his and Josh's eyes were glowing but with different colours.

"Why is there a storm?" Justin shouted loudly to the hearing of Josh.

"Got no idea but I think it could be because of the arrival of this human in our world" .

"I don't think so" Justin shouted back.

Justin's tail let go of my weakened body and I fell on the grass. My somewhat motionless body didn't react to the windy surrounding and the stormy area. I was loosing consciousness and was quite too weak to open my eyes.

"Could it be that someone is coming?" Justin asked while shouting. He was covering his eyes as a result of the wind that blew with the combination of sand.

"That could be possible but who is it that is arriving in such a manner?" Josh asked shouting. He coiled up his white tail just the way Justin had coiled his some time before.

Justin noticed Josh coiling up his tail but he didn't have time to reprimanded him, his only focus was to find out the reason for the storm.

"Did you let go of the human?" Josh shouted when he noticed that Justin's tail wasn't holding the human.

"Yeah, I kind of" Josh answered with a shrug.

"Why did you do that?"

"The human is as good as dead. What we should be concerned about is the Storm and not getting blown away by it" Justin said, making his point.

Josh only nodded. His white glowing eyes stared at the stormy sky filled with raging thunder and lightning.

Someone was coming.

He could feel it.

He could feel the presence of a stronger energy. But the question he wanted to ask,was ,why the hell would such a being arrive in such a stormy way?

'Could it be that someone is coming to the rescue of the human?'

Josh thought intelligently.

As for Justin, he wasn't battling with his thoughts the way Josh was. Instead,he was battling with the wind which seemed to almost blow him away, even sweeping his tail's balance on the ground.

He wrapped his green tail round the trunk of the peach tree while extracting energy from the tree. He went on to channeling the energy to his arms. Putting his hands on the ground, his arms turned into vines that connected to the ground. Directly rooting the vines to the ground in order to keep his balance while also wrapped his tail round the peach tree trunk. All this he did in order not to be blown away by the storm.

Consequently, the storm was becoming amazingly strong which put fear into the hearts of the two male snakes.

"I can't believe that you are so weak. To be doing all of that, just not to be blown away by a great storm" Josh mocked Justin loudly.

"You also can't resist the storm. Only if we could have even noticed this storm then I wouldn't be in this position. Also, I'm still a spirit" Justin said getting a little offended.

"I can't believe we didn't notice the storm coming our way" Josh voice was filled with regret. "We were so busy interrogating a weak human we found, that we failed to notice our surroundings. How foolish of us".

The storm continued with more ferocity and power. But something unexpected happened.....

As the storm continued,a rift in the sky was broken and a portal appeared right in the sky. The portal was made up of golden chakra, intensifying the ferocity of the ongoing storm.

It wasn't long when a golden beam of light fell from the opened portal in the sky, hitting the top of hill. The hill shook with power as the golden beam hit it's ground.

Thunder crackled and lightning gave signs.

The two male snakes were blown away by such power made by the golden beam. The ground kept on shaking and the two male snakes weren't seen around.

Naagin, who lay unconsciously on the ground, not knowing the state of her surroundings was sucked or absorbed into the golden beam.

Once Naagin was sucked into the golden beam, the golden beam faded and the portal disappeared.

It didn't take up to a minute as the stormy sky returned to it's sunny way. The sun appeared in the sky, replacing the storm that was just above the hill.

Then it came into conclusion, someone had come to Naagin's aid.
