Naruto: I, Uchiha, Just Want to Die

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: The Evil God Ritual, A Bright Future!

Chapter 27: The Evil God Ritual, A Bright Future!

When Hidan mentioned that name, Uchiha Ci's eyes flickered slightly.

The Jashin Cult — he only knew a little about it.

It was a mysterious organization wandering within the Land of Hot Water, worshiping a deity known as the "Evil God."

The powerful members of this organization could rely on unique blood curses and ritualistic secret arts, possessing a terrifying "first sight kill" ability.

In the original storyline, the Hot Water Village did little due to their fear of war, choosing instead to live in isolation. They even became known as "the village that forgot war."

This clashed with Hidan's ideal of saving the Land of Hot Water through forceful means. He gradually grew dissatisfied with the Hot Water Ninja Village, thus beginning to take note of the emerging religion in the Land of Hot Water: the Jashin Cult.

However, what Uchiha Ci didn't expect was—

At this point in time, Hidan wasn't even a genin yet, and he had already started noticing this organization?

Hidan's face suddenly darkened, and he spoke up:

"Let me tell you this, Ci!"

"Listen closely—"

"The Land of Hot Water is beyond saving!"

"This country has already been dragged into the wars of the Five Great Nations. Do you understand what that means?"

Hidan's expression grew increasingly sinister, and he spoke in a low voice:

"I've seen too many ninjas in the Land of Hot Water."

"Iwagakure, Kirigakure, Kumogakure, Sunagakure, and even Konoha — ninjas bearing the headbands of these great nations run rampant across this land. They don't care about the lives of the civilians here. Every encounter leads to deadly battles, and large-scale jutsus are recklessly unleashed."

"Have you ever experienced something like this? Walking down the road, and suddenly, the village next to you gets flooded, swallowed by a crevasse from an earthquake, or destroyed by lightning falling from the sky?"

"Then my teacher, a jonin from the Hot Water Village, grabbed my shoulder and told me—"

"'Hidan, leave here quickly. Once we reach the Hot Water Village, we'll be safe.'"

"I remember the look of fear on his face, sweat dripping from his forehead, his eyes filled with anger, but he turned away, avoiding eye contact."

Upon hearing this, Uchiha Ci couldn't help but take a deep breath.

In the room, Hidan sat in a chair, with bright sunlight shining through a large hole in the wall, illuminating him, yet it seemed as though his entire body absorbed the light, like a black hole.

Hidan's face darkened, his expression terrifying. Anger faintly showed on his face, and the skin at the corners of his eyes seemed to stretch as if it were about to tear apart. He glared at Uchiha Ci, laughing darkly:

"I asked my teacher, 'Why don't you save them?'"

"With your strength, teacher, you could defeat those chunin slaughtering civilians, right? You could kill them, erase all traces, and then escape, couldn't you?"

"Why don't you kill them?"

"Why?"

"Do you know how my teacher answered me?" Hidan paused for a moment, lifting his head to ask Uchiha Ci.

Uchiha Ci slowly exhaled and sighed:

"He probably said something like, 'Hidan, don't stir up trouble. We're not their match,' right?"

The stark contrast made him think of how, when facing strong enemies from Kumogakure, Uchiha Setsuna, to help him seek revenge, had spoken words of protection akin to self-destruction.

For the sake of one genin, they didn't hesitate to hunt the enemy clan down!

It was the first time Uchiha Ci truly felt how intensely twisted the "clan of love" known as the Uchiha could be.

Hidan shook his head and laughed bitterly:

"But my teacher said—"

"'Those people have nothing to do with us. Don't get involved.'"

"Listen to that—"

"He actually said those people have nothing to do with us?"

"My teacher's hometown is from that village. This time we left the village to bring my teacher's wife back to the village."

"And yet, he said those people have nothing to do with us?!!!"

Hidan's emotions surged, and he snatched the apple from Uchiha Ci's hand, smashing it violently to the ground.

Uchiha Ci: ???

Are you kidding me? That was my apple!

Uchiha Ci shook his head and sighed. Although he had long expected the twisted nature of this world, hearing about such tragedies firsthand still made it difficult for him to accept.

"This world is indeed twisted, but what does any of this have to do with the Jashin Cult?"

Hidan nodded and took a small booklet from the pouch on his waist.

He slapped it into Uchiha Ci's hand, his face filled with sincerity and excitement as he said:

"Ci, take a look at this."

"Read the teachings!"

"The fallen Land of Hot Water has finally found its dawn!"

"Its name is—"

"The Jashin Cult!"

Hidan's smile became increasingly maniacal:

"Kill! Kill them all! Kill everyone around!"

"Stand and kill, crouch and kill, tie someone up in the stable and kill, drench them in horse dung and then hack them to death, tie their hands and kick them into boiling oil to kill them—anything, everything!"

"Ninjas, civilians, nobles, daimyo—"

"Kill them all!"

"Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill!"

"Let this country undergo a cleansing!"

"Prepare the stage, dye it with blood, and use the heads of millions, billions, to build a towering monument for the ritual!"

"And then—"

"Welcome the Evil God!"

"When the deity descends, all believers in Him will receive eternal suffering!"

"All sins will be erased!"

"The reborn Land of Hot Water will, under the embrace of the Evil God, become the sixth great nation in the ninja world!"

"And it will forever attain peace!"

With those words, Hidan stood amidst the scorching sunlight, spreading his arms wide, his face filled with fanaticism, as he gazed directly at the sun.

It was as if he saw a light more brilliant than the sun!

Uchiha Ci swallowed and stared at the crazed Hidan in front of him, shocked. He couldn't help but ask in disbelief:

"You've already joined the Jashin Cult?"

Hidan suddenly shook his head, looking dejected.

"No, not yet."

"But they should be arriving soon—"

Hidan burst into laughter, slapping Uchiha Ci's shoulder and sincerely saying:

"Ci, help me out."

"To join the Jashin Cult, I need a sacrifice!"

"I've already sacrificed myself, but it's not enough. I need you!"

"Walk with me onto the cross, and become a follower of the god!"

"Then—"

"We'll stand at the top of this country together, making the Land of Hot Water—"

"Great forever!"

A drop of sweat rolled down Uchiha Ci's forehead as he stared at Hidan in shock.

There were no subtitles popping up.

That meant—

This guy was genuinely inviting him to become a sacrifice, and he probably thought this was a great idea!

Uchiha Ci couldn't help but twitch.

To Hidan, becoming a sacrifice was indeed a good thing.

By doing so, he could gain immortality, transcending the fear of death, and master the secret techniques of the Evil God's rituals.

From then on, he would rise in the ranks of the Jashin Cult, getting promotions, becoming the CEO, marrying the twin sisters, the Triple-Bladed Scythe and the Retractable Spear, and reaching the pinnacle of life!

Just thinking about it was a bit exciting.

But Uchiha Ci... Ci he—

"Wait, what?"

Uchiha Ci froze, as if seeing a golden path to an insurance scam laid out before him!

Angels singing, fairies scattering flowers, just waiting for him to take a step forward.

This is a good thing for me too!

Faced with such a notorious evil cult and villainous force as the Jashin Cult,

As a righteous man who loves peace and justice, determined to lead the ninja world to a bright future, how could Uchiha Ci stand by and do nothing?

Uchiha Ci was so excited that he jumped off the bed, tightly gripping the Jashin Cult booklet in his hand, and grabbed Hidan's hands firmly.

"Hidan, my good brother! Excellent!"

"Let's go to the Jashin Cult together!"

"We both have a bright future ahead of us!"
