Inoiki smiled warmly. "Really? That's great news. My sister must have been working very hard."
Ino puffed out her chest with pride, patting it for emphasis. "Of course! I've become pretty powerful, you know."
Shikamaru, ever curious but with his usual laid-back demeanor, tilted his head. "What about you, Inoiki? Are you joining the Chūnin Exams too?"
"Yes," Inoiki replied, nodding. "I'll be participating solo."
Shikamaru's brow furrowed in surprise. "Solo? But isn't it a rule that you need at least a three-person team to join the Chūnin Exams?"
Inoiki gave a calm, knowing smile. "An exception was made for me because of my strength."
Shikamaru raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed. "Really? The Hokage agreed to that?"
"Of course," Inoiki said confidently. "If the Hokage hadn't agreed, I wouldn't be allowed to participate."
Shikamaru leaned back, scratching the back of his head thoughtfully. "Man, that's troublesome... but I guess if the Hokage himself made the call, there's no arguing with it."
Ino looked at her brother with newfound admiration. "That's amazing, Brother! Looks like we're both aiming to become Chunin after passing the Chunin exams."
Inoiki's smile grew softer as he looked at his sister and her team. "Let's all give it our best," he said. The air around them was filled with excitement and anticipation for the challenges ahead.
On the seventh day, as instructed by Izumo, Inoiki made his way to the Ninja Academy to complete his registration for the Chūnin Exams. The first round of the exams was set to begin, and anticipation buzzed in the air.
The day Inoiki had been waiting for had finally arrived. Upon entering the Academy, he headed to the second floor, recalling the events that were supposed to unfold according to the original plotline he remembered from his previous life. As a reincarnator, he knew this was where Izumo and Kotetsu were meant to be guarding the door to Room 201. Using a genjutsu, they would have disguised it as Room 301, testing the perceptiveness of the Genin candidates by weeding out those unable to see through the illusion.
However, things were different now. Inoiki's presence had altered the course of events. Because of his participation, Izumo and Kotetsu were no longer permitted to act as invigilators for the exam, leaving their roles in this scene vacant.
When Inoiki arrived on the second floor, he noticed the door clearly marked as Room 201—no genjutsu in sight. The hall was nearly empty, with only a few Genin candidates lingering around. He frowned slightly, wondering how much his presence had truly changed.
Eavesdropping on a nearby conversation between a group of Genin, Inoiki pieced together what had transpired. It seemed that two Chūnin, not Izumo and Kotetsu, had taken up the task of casting the genjutsu this time. However, their ploy had already been exposed—by Sasuke Uchiha, no less. With their illusion rendered meaningless, the Chūnin had abandoned their post, knowing the news of their failed test would soon spread.
Inoiki couldn't help but smile at this revelation. So, the structure of the test remains intact, even if the players have changed, he thought. It was a subtle confirmation that while his presence had altered some details, the essence of the Chūnin Exams and their trials persisted.
Satisfied with his observations, Inoiki moved forward with quiet confidence, ready to face the challenges ahead.
Inoiki moved up to the third floor, his footsteps light as he entered a hallway with an indoor balcony overlooking the area below. From this vantage point, he spotted Sasuke sitting on the floor, looking visibly stunned, while Rock Lee knelt before a large turtle.
Inoiki's eyes immediately narrowed as recognition dawned. That turtle must be a summon of Might Guy, he thought, recalling the eccentricities of the taijutsu specialist.
Moments later, with a dramatic puff of white smoke, Might Guy himself appeared, standing atop the turtle's back. His theatrical entrance was as over-the-top as Inoiki remembered.
Guy began speaking with Lee, their interaction unfolding with an intensity that could only be described as unique. From the impassioned declarations of mentorship to the shared tears of camaraderie, the scene sent an involuntary chill down Inoiki's spine. I swear, I will never interact with anyone like that, he vowed silently, shaking his head.
After their intense moment, Guy turned his attention to Team 7. He introduced himself with his signature enthusiasm, explaining his rivalry with Kakashi. "Kakashi and I are competitors—eternal rivals!" he declared with dramatic flair.
Team 7 exchanged doubtful glances, their scepticism palpable. To them, Guy seemed far too eccentric to rival someone as composed as Kakashi. But when Guy demonstrated his incredible speed—moving faster than their eyes could track—Sasuke's analytical mind kicked in. "That speed... it's faster than Kakashi's," he muttered, a note of disbelief in his voice.
The realization left Team 7 unsettled, their earlier doubt giving way to quiet awe. Guy, as if sensing their wavering disbelief, confidently added, "And yes, I am stronger."
Then, as if noticing him for the first time, Guy turned his gaze to Inoiki, who stood silently on the balcony above. "And who are you?" he called, his voice booming with curiosity and energy.
