Chapter 50: white lily
The air seemed to hum with latent energy as Aiko's resolve crystallized. Her eyes, radiating with a cold determination, locked onto Tayuya like a predator fixating on its prey. With a measured breath, Aiko took a step, activated The Blood Trail Technique (Ketsueki Kiseki no Jutsu). Intense red chakra flared around her legs, emitting a heat so fierce it made the air around her shimmer. As she charged towards Tayuya, the ground beneath her seemed to ignite, leaving a smoldering trail of scorched earth in her wake.
Before Aiko could reach her, Naruto sprang into action, using the Body Flicker Technique to position himself between Aiko and Tayuya. His actions were driven by a selfless determination to protect Tayuya, who was, at this moment, his comrade. Aiko's eyes flashed with fury at the sudden intervention. "Do not interfere, this is a personal matter" within her palm, ignited crimson sparks that blossomed into The Scarlet Flame (Sekka no Jutsu). The intense crimson flames roared to life, their heat palpable even from a distance.
Hinata, her Byakugan engaged, scanning the chaotic battlefield flooded with red-hooded cultists. These emotionless adversaries, with their hauntingly blank stares, swarmed relentlessly. Yet, Hinata and Neji fought back regardless of their odds at victory. Their Gentle Fist techniques blocked their advance with mechanical efficiency, every parry, every strike was a calculated effort to disable their foes. One by one, the red-hooded cultists fell, their bodies collapsing to the ground. The battlefield became a graveyard of fallen enemies, countless lay silent, scattered on the ground, unwilling witnesses to the unparalleled prowess of the Hyūga clan.
Hinata's all-seeing eyes detected the Scarlet Flame as it ignited in Aiko's hand, the sudden flare of intense heat momentarily startled her. She shifted her gaze and saw that Naruto stood directly in its deadly path staring Aiko down, drops of sweat falling from his brow. Without hesitation, she abandoned her position on the defensive line and rushed toward them, her heart shook with urgency. In a heartbeat, she placed herself between Naruto and Aiko
The searing Scarlet flames collided with Hinata's chest, spreading upon impact with a ferocity that took everyone by surprise. The intense heat not only burned through her flesh but also invaded her internal systems, rupturing her organs from within. Her cries of pain reached everyone throughout the battlefield. The leaf shinobi couldn't believe what was happening right before them. 'Hi...Hinata?" Naruto was frozen in place, his face paled, he brought both his hands together and disrupted his Chakra flow "KAI!!".
"no..... not you, not like this" Neji knew better his Byakugan never lies, this was no illusion, this is real.
Despite the hellish agony, Hinata clenched her jaws and summoned her remaining strength, She grabbed Aiko's arm with hers keeping her movement's in check.
Hinata's arm caught aflame, as soon as it touched the scarlet flames surrounding Aiko's forearm. With Aiko held in place, Hinata took on a stance and with her free hand, she assaulted Aiko with the Gentle Fist technique "Four palms!". Aiko blocked the barrage with her own hand, "Eight palms!" but Hinata's practiced attacks simply redirected her efforts to Aiko's hand, the chakra points in Aiko's hand were sealed as a result.
The struggle was intense, "Sixteen palms!" Hinata's hands moved with unwavering resolve, each strike aimed to disable Aiko's arm. The burning heat made every movement a test of endurance. "Thirty two palms!" With each strike, more and more of Aiko's chakra points were neutralized until her arm fell to her side, rendered useless. Hinata's comrades stood paralyzed, their faces contorted with horror as they understood the severity of her injuries and the immense sacrifice she made to shield Naruto.
Hinata coughed, blood splattered from her lips. The searing heat turned the droplets to ash, crumbling before they ever touched the ground. "Naruto… I…," her voice quivered as her strength gave way, fighting to stay conscious. Her vision blurred from the overwhelming toll placed apon her.
Upon his realization that this was not a simple genjutsu, Naruto, fueled by desperation, used the Body Flicker technique, a Repulsing Rasengan forming in his palm behind him. "GET AWAY FROM HER!!!" The winds it generated propelled him faster than ever before towards Aiko. The combination technique, Repulse Flicker, brought him face-to-face with her. The powerful air currents disrupted Aiko's stance. Naruto thrust the Repulsing Rasengan past Hinata, the attack connected with Aiko's chest, blasting her away with overwhelming power
Hinata felt the strength draining from her body, her legs betrayed her as exhaustion set in. Her knees buckled and she began to fall, like a wilting lily. Naruto turned back and saw her struggle, it was like a knife to his heart. He caught her frail body moments before she met the unforgiving ground. His arms wrapped around her, they shook as Naruto placed them over her burning wounds. "SHIKAMARUUU!!!, NEJIIII!! WATER, WE NEED WATER!!!" Naruto held her close as tears of sorrow clouded his eyes.
Hinata's voice was barely a whisper. Her trembling hand reached up to Naruto's cheek, gently guiding his gaze to meet hers. "It's too late,... I... I've always… admired you... Naruto.... your strength... your kindness... your smile... I'm glad... that... someone like... me... could save... you... Naruto, I've… always... l-lov...ed... you…" Her words were laden with deep emotion, each one carried the weight of a lifetime of unspoken feelings. A single tear traced its path down her face, shimmered in the light before it fell, her eyes lost its shine as she drew her final breath. The moment hung heavy with finality, an aching stillness settled over them.
Even in death, the scarlet flames continued to burn Hinata from within, consuming what remained of her once vibrant life. Her body, turned to ash, carried away by the wind. "no, no, no, NOOO HINATAAAA!!" Naruto's eyes widened in horror, watching helplessly as she slipped away through his fingers like sand in an hourglass.
Neji, unable to bear the sight of her remains scattering in the wind, kneeled next to Naruto, tears welled up in his eyes as he sealed what remained of her within a sealing scroll, ensuring that her essence was preserved with the dignity she deserved "It should have been me, you... should have never been here".
Overwhelmed by grief, Naruto sank into a despair that seemed bottomless. Within him, the Nine-Tails watched as Naruto curled up into a ball, tightly embracing his legs as he cried on the flooded floor in front of the demon's cage.
Red chakra seeped through the bars containing the fox, it mingled with Naruto's tears, and wrapped around him like a dark shroud of sorrow. The chakra enveloped him completely, pulling him deeper into the water, amplifying his anguish and drowning him further into the depths of despair. With each agonizing heartbeat, Naruto's grip on reality slipped away, allowing the demon within to emerge, its rage, a wildfire ready to consume the world.
The Nine-Tails took control of his body, Naruto let out an animalistic roar filled with rage, a sound that shook the battlefield. The force of the roar blew Neji away, causing him to drop the scroll containing Hinata's remains. The ashes of Hinata danced violently in the disturbed breeze, a bold elegy to the sacrifices a ninja's must face.
The Nine-Tails fixated on Aiko, its rage swelling with each passing heartbeat. Naruto was no longer present—the demon had taken full control, and all that remained of the boy was a hollow vessel brimming with unrestrained fury. The first tail emerged, red energy bubbled up from his pores, cloaking him in a fiery shroud. His eyes, once blue and full of life, now turned into an ominous crimson, filled with nothing but bloodlust. There was no hesitation in those bloody eyes. The Nine-Tails had seized control, and it reveled in its newfound freedom.
With a roar that shook the heavens, the second tail erupted, jagged appendages of chakra lashed in the air, sending shockwaves that rippled outward. A sinister aura surrounding Naruto grew thicker, darker, as if the very shadows themselves were bending to the will of the beast. adding to the maelstrom of power swirling around its host. The ground beneath the demon-possessed Naruto shattered, cracks spidering outward as the earth struggled to withstand the monstrous force. The fox's malevolent chakra transformed Naruto's body,
Then came two more tails, their emergence heralding a new level of horror on the battlefield. The moment it appeared, Naruto's skin began to crack and peel away, falling in charred fragments like burnt parchment. Beneath his shredded flesh, a grotesque layer of tainted chakra was revealed a dark, seething mass that pulsed like molten lava. This sinister cloak of energy writhed and hissed, forming a twisted layer around his body, as if the very essence of the Nine-Tails had begun to consume him from the inside out. The air warped under the pressure, a scorching wind swirled around him, turning the ground to rubble.
The Nine-Tails savored every moment of its newfound freedom, its lips curled into a feral grin. The transformation had only just begun. Naruto was no more than a vessel now, his human features distorted into something monstrous, something unrecognizable. This was no longer the boy who fought to protect those he loved, this was a being of pure hatred and unrelenting fury, the tailed beast's hatred given form, ready to annihilate everything in its path. Its eyes, pulsed with a malevolent white light, locking eyes with Aiko, promising nothing short of total destruction.
