Naruto: The Rise Of Uchiha

Chapter 87: Chapter : 89

Silently, Uchiha Fugaku infiltrated the battlefield between the Kaguya clan and the elite Hidden Mist Village ninjas. Using the Mayfly Technique, he moved seamlessly underground, as if swimming through the earth. This unique jutsu not only allowed him to traverse below the surface but also completely concealed his presence.

Combined with his Kage-level aura-concealing skills, Fugaku became nearly undetectable, even to the sharpest perception-type ninjas. Orochimaru's earlier detection of him had only been possible due to the rare temperature-sensing ability of his snakes.

Fugaku navigated to the location of a middle-aged man from the Kaguya clan who had fallen during the battle.

"This one's strength is close to that of a Kage. His Corpse Bone Bloodline is likely the strongest among the clan, second only to Kimimaro," Fugaku thought.

The corpse's dense bone structure indicated exceptional power. This body was a valuable target for his corpse-smelting technique, capable of producing immense results. Fugaku, however, deliberately avoided taking Kimimaro's body. The risk of inheriting Kimimaro's terminal bloodline disease through smelting was too great.

Puff—

Fugaku reached out from underground, grabbed the middle-aged man's body, and slowly dragged it into the earth. With the Kaguya clan still embroiled in battle, no one noticed the missing corpse.

Next, Fugaku targeted a young man who had been killed by a water-style jutsu. Though the young man's body was severely damaged, his earlier performance in battle had caught Fugaku's attention. The young Kaguya had strength close to that of an elite jonin, and his latent potential made his body a valuable resource.

Puff—

Once again, Fugaku carefully pulled the body into the ground, ensuring his movements were slow and subtle to avoid detection.

In this manner, Fugaku successfully stole five bodies, each exhibiting signs of exceptional strength and potential within the Kaguya clan. However, with the battle nearing its end and the remaining Kaguya clan members defeated, the Hidden Mist ninjas began cleaning the battlefield, collecting the corpses of the fallen.

The increased vigilance made further stealth impossible. Fugaku decided to temporarily withdraw, sealing the five stolen corpses into a sealing scroll before sneaking back underground to observe the battlefield.

Back at the scene, Fugaku noticed the Hidden Mist ninjas piling the Kaguya clan's corpses into a large heap.

"Are they planning to burn the bodies?" Fugaku speculated, observing barrels of oil being prepared.

Burning the corpses was a common practice in such situations. It prevented the spread of disease and safeguarded secrets that might otherwise be uncovered through postmortem examination.

Seeing the impending threat to the bodies, Fugaku steeled himself.

"It seems there's no other choice—I'll have to rob them directly."

Emerging from underground, Fugaku appeared beside the pile of corpses in an instant.

"Who…?"

Several Hidden Mist ninjas nearby shouted in alarm, only to be swiftly incapacitated by Fugaku. Moving like lightning, he struck each one with precision, rendering them unconscious before they could raise an alarm.

With the guards neutralized, Fugaku quickly unfurled his sealing scroll and performed the sealing jutsu.

Peng—

The entire heap of corpses vanished, safely sealed within the scroll.

The commotion, however, alerted other Hidden Mist ninjas. The sounds of approaching footsteps and battle cries filled the air. The fastest among them was Mei Terumi, who arrived with several guards in tow.

Stopping a short distance away, Mei Terumi observed Fugaku with a calm yet piercing gaze.

"I didn't expect to have another uninvited guest tonight, aside from the Kaguya clan," Mei said, her emerald-green eyes narrowing slightly.

Though young—just in her twenties—Mei exuded the composure and authority of a leader. Her youthful beauty, with long reddish-brown hair, was complemented by a sharp and calculating mind.

"I mean no harm," Fugaku said smoothly, sealing the scroll and tucking it away. "It just seemed wasteful for you to burn these bodies, so I took them off your hands."

Mei's lips curled into a smile, though her eyes remained cold.

"Can you tell me what you plan to do with those corpses?"

"I'm afraid I can't do that." Fugaku shook his head, his tone polite but firm.

"Then perhaps you'd be willing to stay as a guest in the Hidden Mist Village?" Mei pressed, her voice laced with warning.

"Unfortunately, that's not an option either," Fugaku replied, his voice calm yet unyielding.

"Then you leave me no choice." Mei's smile faded, replaced by a stern expression.

"Lava Release: Acidic Mud Monster Jutsu!"

A torrent of corrosive liquid spewed from her mouth, forming a river of molten acid that surged toward Fugaku.

"Earth Style: Earth Flow Wall!"

Fugaku pressed his hand to the ground, summoning a thick earthen barrier to block the acidic attack.

However, the lava-like acid melted through the wall in an instant, consuming it as if it were paper.

Fugaku had anticipated this. The Lava Release, capable of melting even Susanoo, was not something ordinary earth-style jutsu could resist.

As the acid closed in, Fugaku activated the Mayfly Technique, sinking underground just before the corrosive wave reached his position.

"You really thought you could block Mei Terumi's Lava Release with earth-style jutsu? How laughable."

"Lady Mei is unstoppable! That fool is done for!"

Hidden Mist ninjas, emboldened by Mei's prowess, cheered as they watched Fugaku's position consumed by the acid.

"No, he's not dead," Mei said, shaking her head.

Her sharp eyes scanned the area. She could sense that Fugaku had used some form of earth-style ninjutsu to escape underground.

"Issue a wanted notice," Mei ordered her subordinates. "I want a full description of that man on every poster in the Land of Water."

Mei's tone was calm but resolute. The mysterious intruder had infiltrated their village, stolen the Kaguya clan's corpses, and escaped without leaving much of a trace. This could not be tolerated.

Beneath the surface, Fugaku moved quickly and silently, heading far from the Hidden Mist Village.

"Mei Terumi is indeed powerful," Fugaku thought as he traveled. "But her vigilance came too late."

In his sealing scroll, he carried not just the five earlier bodies, but now the entire heap of corpses from the Kaguya clan.

"The Corpse Bone Bloodline is mine now," he thought with satisfaction, already planning how to utilize the newly acquired resources to further his abilities.
