Chapter 120: 120. Don't Rush
"May I ask, brother, how old are you?"
Uchiha Gin lifted his head and gazed at the blond boy in front of him, whose face was full of harsh lines. He carefully examined his appearance.
After briefly pausing at the six markings on the boy's cheeks, Gin looked directly into his defiant eyes and asked sincerely.
Kinkaku, staring at this seemingly frail Uchiha, was shocked. Not only was the boy unafraid, but he even dared to ask about his age.
"Hmph! I'm twelve this year!"
Snorting through his nose, Kinkaku pointed his thick thumb at himself and replied in a muffled voice.
What? If you hadn't told me, I would've thought you were thirty! You sure grew up fast!
Uchiha Gin was taken aback. This guy, who looked like a melon seller, was actually only twelve years old. Truly remarkable.
"This is going to be difficult!"
Gin placed a hand on his forehead, his tone filled with regret.
"What are you mumbling about over there?"
Seeing that Uchiha Gin had the audacity to ignore him and mutter to himself, Kinkaku became enraged.
Furious, he raised his massive hand like a fan and swung it toward the curly-haired boy who was lost in thought.
"Kinkaku! Stop!"
Hagoromo Shintaro, surprised by Kinkaku's boldness, never expected him to openly attack an ally who had come to assist them.
He knew Kinkaku's strength very well. If it weren't for Kinkaku being so young, the position of acting clan leader wouldn't have fallen to him.
"Boom!"
A loud noise echoed, and Hagoromo Shintaro closed his eyes in pain, unable to stop the blow.
It's over, it's all over. Not only have we offended the Senju Clan, but now we've also angered our last hope. The heavens are surely intent on destroying my Hagoromo Clan!
"Huh?"
Kinkaku, who thought his slap would send the frail Uchiha flying, was puzzled and let out a confused sound.
He didn't feel his hand hit anything. When he tried to withdraw his hand to check, he was shocked to find that his palm was being held by someone. No matter how much force he applied, he couldn't move it an inch.
"Are kids today really this rude?"
Uchiha Gin's lazy voice rang out. Hearing this, Hagoromo Shintaro quickly opened his eyes, only to see an unbelievable scene.
Uchiha Gin, who was expected to be sent flying, was instead yawning. He had raised one hand, with two fingers lightly pinching Kinkaku's enraged palm, looking completely at ease.
"!!!"
Kinkaku, seeing Uchiha Gin effortlessly holding his large hand with just two fingers, was left speechless in shock.
"Let go of me!"
Using all his strength, Kinkaku still couldn't pull his hand free from Uchiha Gin's fingers, prompting him to shout in frustration.
"Ah, ah, ah!!"
Seeing that the boy still had the nerve to be defiant, Uchiha Gin applied more force. His fingers, now infused with monstrous strength, clamped down like a vice, causing Kinkaku's palm to throb with intense pain, and he couldn't help but wail.
"Master Uchiha Gin, please spare him! He's still just a child!"
Hagoromo Shintaro ran up to Uchiha Gin, urging him to stop in an odd tone, though his uncontrolled smirk betrayed his insincerity.
Huh?
I didn't expect this thick-browed, straight-laced Hagoromo Shintaro to be such a person.
"You're a child?"
Uchiha Gin chuckled, turning his head to look at Kinkaku, who was now sweating profusely. His face flushed, and the arrogance from earlier had completely vanished.
"Yes, yes, I just turned twelve this year!"
Facing overwhelming strength, Kinkaku, despite his stubbornness, knew when to retreat and quickly yielded.
"All right, then."
Uchiha Gin released his grip, and Kinkaku immediately took several steps back. He glanced at his hand, now marked by two dark bruises, and muttered indignantly, "You're only stronger because you're older. By the time I reach your age, I'll be a hundred times stronger than you."
So this kid's always had a tough mouth. No wonder he was able to consume the chakra of the Nine-Tails.
"Seems like you're not convinced?"
Uchiha Gin raised an eyebrow, addressing the still-defiant Kinkaku.
"Hmph!"
Kinkaku clutched his hand and snorted, indicating that Gin's words were correct.
"I, Uchiha Gin, prefer to resolve things through virtue. Since you think I'm only stronger because of my age, why don't we have my disciple face you in an exciting duel?"
With that, Gin pushed Uchiha Haruka, who had been casually eating sunflower seeds and watching the spectacle, out in front.
"???"
Uchiha Haruka, holding a handful of seed shells, looked confusedly at Uchiha Gin, who was brimming with confidence.
Aren't I your dearest disciple?
"Huh? Her?"
Seeing that Uchiha Gin had sent out a young girl, the arrogant Kinkaku burst into laughter.
"Gin-san, if you don't want to accept me as your disciple, just say so directly. There's no need for this."
Uchiha Haruka tossed the seed shells behind her and rubbed her delicate hands together. She looked up, her hollow eyes staring at Uchiha Gin, her voice icy.
"Oh, come on, Haruka! How could you look at your teacher like that? I have complete faith in you!"
Uchiha Gin patted Haruka's head, his voice filled with inexplicable confidence.
"I've assessed this boy. He's all bark and no bite. You just need to exert a little effort to reach his limits."
"Really?"
Uchiha Haruka, mesmerized by Gin's words, looked at Kinkaku with less apprehension.
"No big deal. With the weapon I gave you, taking him down will be like cutting vegetables."
Gin patted his chest confidently.
"Are you both ready?"
Kinkaku, who had been nursing his hand, felt he was back to his full strength and started shouting again.
"Go, Haruka! Teach that loudmouth a lesson he'll never forget."
Gin encouraged her by patting her on the back.
Still a bit doubtful, Uchiha Haruka unsheathed the weapon Gin had gifted her the previous day. Gripping the electric blade, the young girl suddenly felt a surge of confidence and stepped forward.
"Uchiha Haruka, please grant me your guidance."
Haruka lifted her weapon and spoke softly to Kinkaku, who stood not far away.
"Hmph! To deal with a little girl like you, I don't even need any tools."
Kinkaku scoffed, choosing not to use his family's inherited weapon, opting instead to fight the girl bare-handed.
Facing the much more imposing Kinkaku, Haruka couldn't help but feel a little nervous.
Although she had awakened her two-tomoe Sharingan at just thirteen, her current abilities were at best on par with a Special Jonin.
Meanwhile, Kinkaku, thanks to his ancestral bloodline, possessed the chakra reserves of an elite Jonin at just twelve, and his physical development far outpaced others his age, making him as powerful as a full-fledged Jonin.
"Heh, little girl, I'll let you have three free attacks!"
With a sneer, Kinkaku crossed his arms, generously offering to let Haruka strike first.
Uchiha Gin: ???
"I'm thirteen, so you should call me 'big sister.'"
Haruka, holding her electric blade, suddenly spoke, her eyes filled with a strange gleam.
"Shut up! In our world, rank is based on strength!"
Angered by Haruka's jab, Kinkaku roared. His premature aging had always been a sore point, often the subject of ridicule among his clansmen.
"Calm down, brother! Don't fall for her taunts."
The silver-haired boy, silent until now, stepped forward to soothe his agitated brother.
"Damn Uchiha! Hurry up and make your move!"
Now somewhat calmer, Kinkaku gritted his teeth and glared at Haruka, eager to teach the sharp-tongued girl a lesson.
"Go, Haruka! Use the electric blade!"
Gin waved his hand, assuming the stance of a trainer.
"It's called the Sword of Thunder God, okay~"
Haruka muttered under her breath, slightly annoyed, as she gripped her electric blade and charged toward Kinkaku.
Seeing the young girl swing her blade at him, Kinkaku smirked in disdain. A little dagger like that? It's laughable if you think you can hurt me with it.
As the blade came down, Kinkaku didn't dodge, instead raising his thick arm to block it.
Clang!
A metallic ring echoed as Haruka's blade met Kinkaku's arm, causing a faint tingling sensation that he barely noticed.
Glancing at the girl who couldn't even scratch him, Kinkaku let out a cruel smile.
"Two more moves."
Realizing her first attack had failed, Haruka's heart sank, and she frowned as she began to consider her next move.
"Don't lose heart, Haruka! You've got to finish all three attacks! My electric blade has a special feature, you know~"
Noticing Uchiha Haruka's hesitation, Uchiha Gin, who was watching the battle from the side, immediately shouted to her with a big smile, giving the girl a bright thumbs-up.
"It's the Sword of Thunder God!!!"
The girl couldn't help but turn her head to complain, but then felt the sound of thunder coming from the weapon in her hand.
She decided to trust it.
With that, Uchiha Haruka raised her weapon again and charged at Kinkaku.
"Hmph! Useless effort."
Kinkaku, having already gauged Uchiha Haruka's strength, shook his head disdainfully. He raised his hand, ready to block two more attacks before finishing off the girl with thunderous force, to vent his anger.
"Bang!!"
The second strike came, and Kinkaku blocked it effortlessly without even blinking.
"Bang!!!"
For the third strike, Uchiha Haruka poured all her strength into the attack, hoping to create a miracle.
"Haha, this level of attack isn't even as strong as when Ginkaku gives me a back scrub."
Kinkaku's taunts continued, even going so far as to say that Uchiha Haruka's attacks were weaker than his younger brother's back scrub towel.
After the third strike, Uchiha Haruka took a few steps back, casting a suspicious glance at Uchiha Gin, who had started snacking on sunflower seeds.
Wasn't there supposed to be a special effect?
She had already swung three times, but there was no effect at all.
"Don't rush, let the bullet fly for a while."
