Chapter 149: Chapter 149 : Izanami!!

The Sage Mode of the Three Great Sage Regions is undoubtedly very powerful.

In the past, Jiraiya was the undisputed weakest among the Legendary Sannin.

However, after he learned the Sage Mode of Mount Myoboku, his strength increased dramatically.

As long as Jiraiya was able to successfully activate Sage Mode, with the help of the two great toads, even Orochimaru couldn't defeat him.

So, Orochimaru, who was determined to learn every technique in the ninja world, naturally wouldn't let such a powerful Sage Technique slip by.

After much effort, he finally found the Ryūchi Cave, which was as famous as Mount Myoboku and the Shikkotsu Forest, and you can imagine how excited he was.

To meet the White Snake Sage, he still needed to pass three trials and complete three stages of tests.

After all, the White Snake Sage wasn't someone you could just meet whenever you wanted.

The first test was sincerity.

Simply put, the White Snake Sage's subordinates would use genjutsu to show Orochimaru what his heart most desired, trying to block his progress.

In the illusion, Orochimaru struggled greatly but eventually gave up the immortality technique, which was almost within his grasp, to pass into the second test.

The second test was patience.

Orochimaru had to sort out rice and green beans from a large pot.

This test was very easy for him.

Patience was something he never lacked.

After spending several hours, he successfully reached the third test.

The third test was true intention.

This test would use words to directly probe into the challenger's innermost heart. The words were sharp and aimed at the heart, but as long as the challenger had strong willpower, it was easy to pass.

Was Orochimaru's willpower strong?

It was, of course, strong.

So, he passed all three tests and finally met the White Snake Sage.

Originally, he thought that after meeting the White Snake Sage, he would be able to learn the Sage Mode of the Ryūchi Cave.

The White Snake Sage told him that training in Sage Mode is a very dangerous thing. If you fail, you'll lose your life.

Orochimaru didn't care. If that idiot Jiraiya could learn it, there's no reason he, a genius, couldn't.

But in the end, he really didn't learn it.

Luckily, he didn't die. He just had half his body eaten by one of the White Snake Sage's subordinates.

It was because he lost half his body that he later transformed himself into a White Phosphorus Snake.

Using the genetic characteristics of the White Phosphorus Snake, he developed the Eight-Headed Serpent Technique.

I wonder if this counts as a blessing in disguise?

As for Kabuto learning the Sage Mode of the Ryūchi Cave, Orochimaru admitted that he was a little jealous.

But Kabuto was his subordinate, and he wouldn't suppress him just because of a little jealousy.

He could tolerate Sasuke, his "killer," so how could he not tolerate Kabuto?

He absolutely didn't let Kabuto learn Sage Mode because of jealousy, but because Kabuto had the talent for it. He wanted him to learn it quickly so that he could contribute to Konoha in the upcoming battles.

Orochimaru: "Kabuto, you know me. I've never been jealous of others. I just want to cultivate you and make you stronger."

Kabuto: "Do you think I believe that?"

(ー`ー)

[In the battle against Kabuto, Itachi used his ultimate genjutsu that decided fate: Izanami.]

[Having been hit by this technique, Kabuto fell into an endless cycle of being cut.]

[At this moment, Itachi decisively used genjutsu to learn how to lift the Reanimation Jutsu and successfully lifted it.]

[As the Reanimation Jutsu was about to be lifted, Itachi told Sasuke: "No matter what path you choose, I will always love you."]

[After saying this, Itachi's soul ascended.]

Looking at Itachi's soul ascending on the screen, Sasuke, thinking of what Itachi had just said, felt goosebumps all over his body.

Don't misunderstand, he wasn't touched by Itachi's words; he was disgusted.

He kept saying he loved him, but then he tried to forcefully change his will using Shisui's Kotoamatsukami. Is that really love?

Maybe Itachi's true intention was to prevent Sasuke from standing against Konoha and getting killed by the ninjas sent from the village.

Sasuke also admitted that Itachi might really love him.

But when it came to having an older brother who wanted to control his life, he still felt disgusted.

"Izanami? What kind of Sharingan technique is that? Sasuke, do you know?"

The Fifth Hokage, Jiraiya's words snapped Sasuke back to reality.

But Sasuke didn't know what Izanami was either.

"I don't know this technique. If the Fifth Hokage wants to know, I'll have to go back to the clan and look up some information."

"Hmm, sorry to trouble you."

Coincidentally, in Tobirama's office, Senju Tobirama was asking Uchiha Kagami.

"Kagami, do you know about the Izanami Sharingan technique?"

"When I was looking through some documents, I came across some information about Izanami."

Kagami paused for a moment, recalling the details about the technique, before continuing, "Izanami is one of the ultimate Sharingan techniques in the Uchiha clan. It is the only genjutsu that can stop Izanagi.

Using this technique causes one eye to go blind, meaning an Uchiha can only use Izanami twice under normal circumstances.

It can record a scene where both the target and the user have an interaction and make that exact scene repeat again.

Anyone who falls under this technique is trapped between the first and second scenes in the mind, caught in an endless loop.

To break free from Izanami, the target must accept their fate and sincerely repent.

Also, those affected by Izanami will be unable to move from their spot."

"This Sharingan technique…"

After listening to Uchiha Kagami's explanation, everyone fell into silence.

The side effects of this technique were indeed severe. Using it once would make one eye go blind, but it was incredibly powerful.

Not only did it trap the opponent in an endless loop, but the most troublesome part was that it left the target completely unable to move.

That was the part with no solution.

In the scene on the screen, Itachi had no intention to kill. Otherwise, he could've easily used a kunai and slit Kabuto's throat, who was frozen in place.

Even if Itachi didn't kill him, as long as Kabuto remained stuck in the infinite loop without repentance, he would eventually die of starvation.

As for the death by starvation, Hidan probably understood that all too well.

Hidan: "Don't cue me, thanks!"

"Kagami, do you know this eye technique?"

Uchiha Kagami shook his head. "Unfortunately, I don't know Izanami. And, I haven't learned Izanagi either."

"That's really too bad. If you had learned Izanami, when you see Uchiha Madara, you could use it on him. I can't believe a prideful guy like Madara would ever repent. He would definitely fall into the genjutsu and be trapped forever."

"Danzo, that idea of yours is a bit cruel, but I like it."

"Hehehe, Torifu, I didn't expect you to be such a bad person too."

"Yeah, it's a shame that Kagami doesn't know this technique."

"Heh, sorry I don't know it."

"No need to apologize. As students of the same teacher, Tobirama, we'll forgive you."

Uchiha Kagami: "???"
