On The Path Of Cultivation To Become God

Chapter 360: To Mount Emei

After the tension had subsided, the group gathered their belongings and headed to where a large, sleek bus bearing the Ming Family crest awaited them. The vehicle, designed for long-distance travel, was both sturdy and imposing.

The bus doors opened with a hiss, and the group filed in, each person taking a seat. Chen Tian settled near the front, with Aria and Emilia on either side of him.

Ming Lei and Liang Wei positioned themselves farther back, while Han Zhi and Mei Zhi took seats together, with Lin Xue and Ming Ming right behind Chen Tian and the girls.

As the bus rumbled to life and began its journey toward the ruins, Patriarch Ming Jian stood at the front, facing the group.

"Alright, everyone, before we arrive at our destination, there are some things you need to know." His deep voice cut through the hum of the engine.

Chen Tian leaned forward slightly, his focus sharpening as Ming Jian continued.

He was eager to learn more about the ancient ruins they were headed toward, of which he knew almost nothing.

"This isn't just a simple trip," Ming Jian explained, his gaze sweeping over the group.

"The place we're heading to is an ancient ruin, one that dates back before recorded history. It's said to hold valuable treasures, artifacts, and secrets that could change someone's life."

"Now that's interesting," Lin Xue murmured, her eyes lighting up with intrigue at the mention of treasures.

"But remember, because of this, other groups will also be seeking it. And not all of them will be friendly."

Ming Jian's tone grew somber.

Chen Tian nodded, understanding the unspoken warning. Competing for treasures often brought out the worst in people.

"We've received information that the ruin has three primary zones: the Outer Zone, the Middle Zone, and the Core Zone. As you venture deeper, you'll find greater opportunities and treasures, but also much more lethal threats."

The patriarch's eyes darkened as he added, "The Ming Family's goal is clear: don't risk everything by pushing into the Core Zone. Gather as much treasure and as many resources as you can from the Outer and Middle Zones. And above all," he paused, scanning the group,

"Make sure none of the rival families come away with anything that could endanger us."

"So, just to be clear," Liang Wei called from the back, his voice carrying a serious tone, "other families might... target us to kill?"

A quiet silence fell over the bus as everyone took in Liang Wei's question. Ming Jian finally nodded, his expression grave.

"Yes, they may try. That's why everyone needs to be careful. The most important thing is to stay together."

As the bus cruised along, the group listened intently, the weight of Ming Jian's words sinking in. The mention of rival families only heightened the tension in the air.

Ming Jian took a deep, deliberate breath before continuing.

"Aside from our Ming family, the other families joining this expedition include the Zhu family, the Han family, the Yu family, and the Liu family. Each family will have its own objectives, but their ultimate goal will be the same; to claim whatever treasures they can from the ruin."

Chen Tian exchanged a glance with Aria and Emilia, noticing the faint unease in their eyes.

Both girls were unfamiliar with the ruthless tactics of the families they were about to face, and he could sense their wariness.

"The location we're headed to is none other than Mount Emei," Ming Jian said, his voice lowering slightly.

"Mount Emei?" Han Zhi murmured, his face filled with surprise.

The words "Mount Emei" reverberated in Chen Tian's mind, and his pulse quickened. Mount Emei was legendary—a towering mountain in Sichuan province, reaching 3,099 meters. It was the highest of China's Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains.

Who hadn't heard of the myth of Buddha?

The stories told of an ancient, powerful being who had once walked these lands, leaving traces of enlightenment and cosmic wisdom behind.

"Mount Emei," Chen Tian thought, his imagination racing.

He'd heard that hidden within the mountain's depths lay remnants of Buddha's presence—secrets waiting to be uncovered by those deemed worthy.

If the legends were true, stepping onto Mount Emei might offer him something beyond his wildest dreams. The thought was thrilling yet daunting.

Buddha was revered not only as a symbol of enlightenment, but as a being whose power rivaled the mightiest gods.

Legends depicted him as a transcendent entity who wielded power over life and death. His abilities stemmed from his mastery over karma, reincarnation, and universal balance.

It was said that with a single thought, he could alter a person's fate, cleanse a soul, or even trap fierce spirits within the wheel of samsara.

"Damn," Chen Tian muttered to himself. "If this myth is real…"

"Chen Tian, are you alright?" Aria's voice broke through his thoughts as she leaned in, her voice soft with concern.
Your next read is at empire

He blinked, shaking off his musings.

"Ah, I'm fine," he replied, offering a reassuring smile.

Aria's brow furrowed as she studied him, sensing something had shifted in his mood. "What do you think we'll find out there?"

Meeting her gaze, he gave a faint smile, his eyes glinting with determination.

"Honestly, I don't know. But I have a feeling that whatever lies ahead... it's going to change everything."

Emilia, who had been listening closely, leaned in with a spark of curiosity. "Well, whatever's waiting for us, I hope it's something worthwhile."

Unknown to anyone here, this expedition will affect not only this world but also the whole cultivation world.

Many forces in the darkness will be awakened, and secrets that should have long been lost in the river of time will resurface.

With this also new threats will emerge; maybe after this expedition, Chen Tian will also understand more about his chaos dantian and the power it holds.

Even discovering truths that would shock him to the core.

But for now, as they set out on their journey into the unknown, all they could do was hope for the best and pray that they would come out of it alive.
