Chapter 16: Chapter 16
In the Bar in Devil's Town, a group of men sits amidst the aroma of alcohol, chatting loudly and bursting into laughter.
Behind the bar, facing the entrance, the bar owner cleans the counter. He then pours rum into a large glass and places it in front of a man with yellow hair.
The man raises his glass and gulps down the drink.
Suddenly, the tavern door slams open, silencing the boisterous atmosphere. All eyes turn to the intruder, filled with astonishment.
"Who does he think he is?" murmurs one pirate. "Doesn't he know Bellamy frequents this place? He's asking for trouble."
As the attention shifts to the intruder, then to the yellow-haired man at the bar, sipping his drink, the pirates exchange glances filled with sympathy.
"Boss! Something's wrong!" shouts the intruder to the yellow-haired man.
"Hmm?" The yellow-haired man raises an eyebrow.
"Boss, a group of strangers arrived at the dock earlier. The leader wore splendid golden armor and sailed an unusual ship."
"Jack and the others tried to grab it, but they were severely injured by one of the men."
"It really stings, my crew is in pain because of this guy," the yellow-haired man remarked as he turned towards the pirate. His tongue was notably longer, and he licked the alcohol from the corner of his mouth, showing his ill intent with a smile.
"Where is he?" This menacing figure is Bellamy, the stepping stone for hyenas in Devil's Town.
"Over here."
Bellamy halted in his tracks, his eyes widening and pupils contracting sharply. Simultaneously, everyone in the tavern turned their horrified gazes towards the young man, unaware of when he had sat at the bar.
The ornate armor confirmed to them that the pirate who had just entered was referring to this individual.
"Uh... Ah, it's... it's him! Boss!" exclaimed the pirate who had rushed in earlier, looking at the tallest figure.
Having dispatched his comrades before his appearance, aware he was outmatched, he quietly retreated. Yet, the man had suddenly reappeared there.
"Who are you?" Bellamy pivoted, sensing the situation turning unfavorable. His originally malicious expression now bore a sheen of sweat.
"Well, I'm the leader of those who injured you. Looks like you were looking for me," Arthur replied, turning around and requesting a Sakura peach pie from the barkeeper. Luffy found it distasteful, while Blackbeard deemed it delicious, though Arthur hadn't tasted it.
A faint twitch appeared at the corner of Bellamy's eyes. The boy before him made him feel invisible, not overtly powerful but exuding a presence akin to a close encounter with a flamenco dancer. The pressure this teenager exerted seemed no less than that of flamenco.
"Hey! You there, sneaky guy, watch your words with our boss!" interjected a figure beside them, clad in a mink coat, sporting sunglasses, one arm around a seductive beauty, and gripping a large knife.
This guy didn't seem to notice as he suddenly interrupted. Bellamy, previously drenched in sweat, let out a sigh of relief.
Arthur glanced at him but didn't respond. He picked up the Sakura peach pie that the boss had brought and enjoyed it. It was quite delicious.
Arthur had come here to witness the fierce showdown Luffy had with Doflamingo a few months back, known as the powerful dragon game.
"Hey! You dare ignore me!" Sarkis, holding the woman, approached Arthur with a knife, sporting an arrogant demeanor as he leaned in close.
A mouthful of alcohol made Arthur grimace and turn away. "Keep your distance, your smell is unpleasant."
"But... Dammit, you!" Sarkis blushed, a mix of embarrassment and anger crossing his face. His eyes flickered, and the large knife in his right hand left a trail in the air.
Swish!
Swish~
"Pathetic, huh! So weak," Sarkis smirked under his sunglasses, feeling superior.
"You're annoying! You insect!" Arthur, casually eating the cherry pie, remained cold-eyed despite being cut across his chest and abdomen, the wounds gradually healing.
"Ah!!! The severed body spoke!" The pirates cried out in horror.
Bellamy's expression shifted dramatically. Deep fear appeared in his eyes as if recalling something ominous.
"Ten million volts, lightning strike."
Boom!
As the person split into two parts but still speaking, the utterly bewildered Sarkis hadn't reacted before being blasted away by a dazzling thunderbolt.
Dealing with such chatter, ten million volts could instantly kill him.
"How is this possible!? Is it... a Logia, Thunder Fruit...?"
Bellamy, completely overwhelmed by what had transpired, couldn't decipher Arthur's abilities based on what he had just witnessed.
Thunder and lightning, elemental forces, can regenerate after being severed. Lightning sparks where it was cut, and then the body becomes whole again.
This is a hallmark of Logia. However, things like the Thunder Fruit would resurface in the Blue Sea after vanishing for centuries.
Bellamy's mind was reeling. No matter how arrogant, he understood that contending with such a super-attack Logia was beyond him.
"...What do you want from me, as one of Doflamingo's men?"
