One Piece : Winged Dragons of the Beast Pirates

Chapter 47: Chapter 42 : Let's Go to Sea!!

Umit arrived with a worried look but departed in high spirits.

Yes, he didn't even stay for a meal.

This time, not only was the task of procuring Sea-Prism Stones completed, but he had also become partners with the Beasts Pirates.

So, there was no time to bask in the glory. Umit had to return immediately to prepare his fleet to transport the Beasts Pirates' goods.

At the same time, he would deploy all his resources to find partners for the Beasts Pirates in the Four Seas and the New World.

Ian was naturally pleased with this development.

With this, the excess capacity could be converted into wealth.

Wealth itself wasn't the most important thing, but it could bring many benefits.

Ian had been very attentive to the development of Wano Country over the past five years.

As soon as Umit left, Kaido sent someone to call for Ian.

To be honest, Ian was a bit surprised.

Kaido had always been indifferent to the Beasts Pirates' business; otherwise, it wouldn't be Ian managing all external trade.

This teacher was a pure delegator, only interested in powerful things, whether weapons or enemies.

So, why was he calling for him now?

Was it another whim to beat him up?

Ian headed to the top floor of the main building, to Kaido's room.

To his surprise, King and Queen were also there.

"Hmph hahahaha, kid,"

Queen said, already grinning widely as he saw Ian, "Managed to strike another deal?"

The Beasts Pirates' income had significantly increased over the years, so Queen had benefited immensely, allowing him to purchase materials he wanted without restraint.

Initially, he had some reservations about Ian's actions, but now Queen had learned to keep quiet.

"I struck a crucial partnership."

Ian briefly explained the deal with Umit.

"By selling our weapons around the world, there's an additional benefit besides making money,"

Ian said, "We can use the financial connections to build a network with powerful figures in various seas."

What network?

Of Course, It's a Network of Interests.

Wherever it might be, those who can engage in arms trade are always the ruthless, local powerhouses, like the tigers that rule their domains.

If Kaido were to ignite a war that swept across the globe in the future, these guys would definitely come in handy.

"Any situation would be fine,"

However, Kaido didn't seem to care much. He simply took a swig of his drink. "Back when I was with the Rocks Pirates, there was someone who took good care of me."

Ian raised an eyebrow. "You mean Charlotte Linlin?"

The relationship between that woman and Kaido is indeed intriguing.

Even the cold and ruthless Kaido would shed tears over Charlotte Linlin's defeat, and she had taken good care of him when he was young.

Aside from what Ian had learned from the manga before crossing over, he and Yamato had also asked Kaido about his time with the Rocks Pirates over the years.

Although Kaido usually didn't bother talking about it, he occasionally shared stories from his past when he was in a good mood.

According to Kaido, Rocks was a selfish, unreliable scoundrel; Whitebeard was an innocent fool with great strength; and Shiki the Golden Lion was an arrogant, stubborn idiot.

Only Charlotte Linlin—despite being called a greedy and pleasure-seeking woman—was remembered with a complex expression as Kaido took a sip of his drink, saying he didn't dislike her. His interactions with her were not memories he found distasteful.

Ian had wanted to ask if, among Charlotte Linlin's many children, there was any contribution from Kaido.

But he feared getting punched, so he decided against it.

Now, when Kaido mentioned someone who took care of him in the Rocks Pirates, Ian naturally thought of Charlotte Linlin first.

"No,"

Kaido shook his head. "It was another guy. I thought he was long dead, but just learned he's still alive."

Ian nodded, waiting for Kaido to continue.

It turns out that Kaido actually had friends besides Charlotte Linlin.

"He said he's about to die and is worried only about his son and daughter,"

Kaido looked at Ian, speaking calmly. "He asked me to take care of his children."

Ian raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

That reminded him.

Ulti and Page One, right?

Their father was indeed an old acquaintance of Kaido, and they were entrusted to him.

"Leave it to you, kid,"

Kaido burped, "Go bring those two brats back."

Ian was suddenly taken aback. "Kaido-sensei, are you saying I can set sail now?"

The siblings couldn't possibly be in Wano Country, right? If you're going to bring them back, then obviously, it means setting sail.

"Heh heh heh heh!"

Kaido's smile was loaded with meaning. "Kid, you're certainly ready to venture out into the sea now."

Ian couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation.

Since being picked up by Kaido at the age of two, he had never left Wano Country for eleven years, spending most of his time on Onigashima, and was long overdue for a change of scenery.

"So,"

Ian asked, "where are they?"

Kaido named a place. "Beehive Island."

"Beehive Island?"

Ian was momentarily stunned. "The former base of the Rocks Pirates, that Beehive Island?"

That place was very familiar to him.

If he remembered correctly—

"That place is now under the control of Ochoku, that bastard,"

Kaido said casually. "My old acquaintance stayed on Beehive Island when the Rocks Pirates split up and settled there, marrying and starting a family."

Ochoku, a former member of the Rocks Pirates, was a notorious pirate in the New World.

Ian thought for a moment. "Kaido, you don't mean for me to go and fight Ochoku, do you?"

"Didn't I say it already? You just need to go fetch those two brats," Kaido glared. "Ochoku might be an idiot, but it's still too early for you to be thinking about fighting him."

Ian nodded slightly. "Got it."

"Then get ready and go! Set sail now. I've already had people prepare a ship for you at the dock and the submerged port."

Kaido grinned. "Enjoy your field trip, kids."

Leave now? Is it that urgent?

It seems Kaido's old friend isn't going to last much longer.

Ian had intended to ask who he could bring along, but it seemed there was no need.

Does this mean it's finally time for us to make our entrance? Ian wondered.

"Then I'll go find Yamato and the others."

Ian said his goodbyes.

After he left, Queen, still uneasy, said, "Boss Kaido, are you sure it's okay to let the kids go on their own? Shouldn't we have King keep an eye on them discreetly?"

It wasn't that he lacked trust; it was just that these kids were the future of the Beasts Pirates, especially Ian and Yamato.

"There's no need. They won't grow up without facing some challenges," Kaido said, taking another sip of his drink. "Besides, Ian's already beyond needing protection."

"Unless Ochoku that bastard decides to make a move himself. But that guy knows full well that if he dares lay a hand on my kids, I'll crush him to dust!"

Over the years, Mr. Kaido has changed so much.

King silently marveled at this.

At the very least, Ian and Yamato had become his most valued people.

Ian quickly found Yamato, who was training by the sea. The young girl had transformed into a white wolf, spewing cold breath in an attempt to freeze the ocean.

"Yamato, gather your things. We're setting out to sea."

"Setting out to sea?"

The white wolf turned around. "Are we heading inland?"

"No, I said we're setting out to sea,"

Ian clarified. "Where we're going is,"

"The world."

It's time to see what this world has to offer.

Yamato's eyes lit up instantly.

"The world?"
