Chapter 401: Strength Exposed, Everyone Shocked
Lageland glanced at John and the others, a cold smirk appearing on his face. His gaze finally settled on Sini, and he spoke, "I challenge you!"
"How shameless!"
"This little girl is in for a rough time. I really don't know how she managed to get such high points."
"Looks like Lageland is getting an easy win here."
People around them murmured, casting looks of disdain towards Lageland.
However, what they felt more was pity. If they were to challenge anyone, they would definitely pick John or his group.
It wasn't that they lacked confidence in their own abilities; it was simply that soft targets are easier to handle.
"Me?" Sini pointed at herself, her lips curling into a smile. Did they really think she was the weakest?
John nodded at her and whispered, "No need to hold back anymore."
"Got it," she responded briefly, then with a leap, lightly landed on the arena.
"Don't worry, little girl, I'll avenge you later," someone below shouted.
Lageland ignored the comment and made a gesture, as if inviting her to take the first move. "Little girl, don't say I'm bullying you because of your size. Go ahead and make your move."
"Then I won't hold back," Sini said, a playful smile tugging at her lips. A grey mist swirled around her as she activated the powers of the underworld.
In the next second, her figure disappeared.
"Huh?" Lageland frowned, sensing a trace of danger. His longsword instinctively moved to guard his neck.
Clang!
A sharp, clear sound rang out. Sini's figure reappeared, her dagger pressing against his longsword.
Having missed her first strike, she quickly shifted her position, launching several deadly slashes aimed at Lageland's vital points.
Whoosh!
The grey mist swirled violently, and the powers of the underworld transformed into sharp blades, accompanied by soul-attacks, ruthlessly trying to tear him apart.
Lageland's expression, which had been relaxed moments ago, now tightened. He frowned slightly, swinging his longsword to block Sini's relentless assault.
"You've got some skill, but it's still not enough!" he sneered coldly, summoning a burst of flames. His longsword was now engulfed in fire.
It was the fire element's The power of laws.
"Purify!" he shouted angrily, swinging his longsword in a horizontal arc, sending waves of fire to clear the surrounding mist.
The mist was eerie, making him feel extremely uncomfortable and severely limiting his power.
"With your level of The power of laws, how dare you challenge me?" Sini's voice echoed disdainfully as the powers of the underworld surged around her, mixing with the mighty The Heaven The power of laws, sweeping forward.
Boom!
Flames exploded, and a figure was sent flying backward. It was Lageland.
"Such immense The Heaven laws!" A gasp of awe came from below as everyone's eyes widened in disbelief, staring at Sini in shock.
"Wait a minute, that's The Heaven enforcer!" someone recognized her identity.
"Impossible! How could a The Heaven enforcer be here in the Realm of Chaos?"
Those exiled to the Realm of Chaos were all powerful beings who had rebelled against The Heaven.
And The Heaven enforcers were The Heaven's most loyal followers. They should never appear in the Realm of Chaos.
But the overwhelming The Heaven laws emanating from Sini clearly marked her as one of the The Heaven enforcers.
Someone suddenly seemed to realize something and spoke up, "Could it be that she's from the World of the Unclaimed?"
As soon as his words fell, everyone's eyes widened in shock, their gazes burning as they stared at Sini.
A few of the city lords from higher-level cities couldn't resist the urge to make a move.
Boom!
Suddenly, a tremor shook the ground, and the Forest King Great Bear stepped forward. A powerful aura of oppression emanated from him as he coldly said, "What, are you daring to ignore the challenge rules of the arena?"
The city lords, startled, quickly stepped back.
"This woman is actually a The Heaven enforcer!" Thunderstrike looked at Sini on the arena, also taken aback by the revelation.
"The parasitic worm is still there." He sensed the parasitic worm within Sini's soul and couldn't help but smile.
This was quite a pleasant surprise for him. The Heaven enforcers wielded powerful The Heaven laws, far more valuable than any Lord of an Advanced City.
And this woman would never escape his control.
"Little girl, I really underestimated you." On the arena, Lageland's expression darkened as he realized that Sini had become the center of attention.
The earlier strike had almost severely injured him, and now that he knew her identity, he was even more cautious.
"I'll see what other secrets you're hiding," he sneered. "Burning Sky!" He shouted in fury, gathering his most powerful strike. The flames lit up the red sky, mixed with fiery sword slashes, as they came roaring toward Sini.
Sini's expression remained unchanged. The Demon Wing appeared behind her as she forcefully flapped it.
Whoosh!
A violent gust of wind swept through, directly countering the incoming storm of flames.
Then, a longbow appeared in her hand. The bowstring vibrated, and arrows like a barrage of stars shot out in rapid succession. Within moments, over ten arrows, made of powers of the underworld, were released, each carrying the immense force of The Heaven laws.
"This is bad!" Lageland's face changed slightly as he sensed the tremendous power in the arrows. They far exceeded his defense capabilities.
In a panic, he quickly gathered a fire wall, hoping to block the incoming arrows.
Bang!
A sharp arrow pierced through the fire wall, and immediately dozens of arrows followed, howling toward him.
"No!" he howled in unwillingness.
Only now did he realize that he had been tricked. This woman had been hiding her strength all along, playing the role of a weakling and luring him into the trap. He had become the unfortunate fool.
Thud, thud...
Several arrows pierced through his body, and blood splattered in all directions.
As he lay dying, regret filled him. If only he had known how powerful this little girl was, he would have challenged John or Cand-Dragon instead.
Boom!
He collapsed to the ground, his breath fading, his life extinguished.
The arena fell completely silent.
From start to finish, Sini had remained calm and composed, clearly not having used all of her power.
"Impressive. I guess the ranking system isn't as inflated as we thought," someone swallowed nervously, their voice trembling slightly.
Fortunately, he wasn't the first to rush onto the arena, or he too might have challenged Sini, and at that point, it would have been him lying on the ground dead.
"The Heaven enforcer!" A few city lords' eyes flickered with greed, their gaze shifting toward Thunderstrike. "I must get my hands on this little girl."
Sini was from Dragon Ascending City, but judging by Thunderstrike's reaction, it seemed even he didn't know her true identity.
"Everyone, thank you for your time!" Sini looked down at the stunned crowd, a smile appearing on her face as she slowly descended from the arena.
Ice Talker gave her a thumbs-up.
"My lord, that little girl is The Heaven enforcer. Should I capture her?" Sword Demon looked at the calm-faced Great Bear, asking for his opinion.
He had thought only John was hiding his strength, but Sini's identity was far more shocking.
Great Bear shook his head. He was also intrigued by Sini but didn't want to harm anyone in the process.
Sword Demon pressed on, "Then should I challenge that John?"
Great Bear glanced at him and slowly replied, "You may not be his match."
"Huh? That's impossible," Sword Demon was stunned, about to say more, when another figure stepped onto the arena.
It was Lowler, an early-stage Eight-Star Awakened One and ranked twelfth on the leaderboard. He was a powerful fighter and also an Overseer.
"Gentlemen, I, Lowler, beg your pardon," he politely cupped his fists and then turned to Sini.
He had an overwhelming desire to capture this little girl. The allure of a The Heaven enforcer was simply too great.
But he was also aware that many Lords of Advanced Cities, even King Senli, were eyeing Sini. He didn't want to offend any of them.
After some hesitation, he turned his gaze toward John.
With a slight tilt of his head, he spoke coolly, "Human, don't say I'm bullying you. Do you dare face me in battle?"
John couldn't care less. This guy, just like Lageland, was nothing more than a sanctimonious show-off.
He slowly walked up onto the arena as murmurs filled the air.
"Do you think that little girl was hiding her strength? Do you think this human is hiding his as well?"
"Impossible. This guy is completely average, there's nothing special about him."
"They must've earned so many points because of that The Heaven enforcer."
The crowd didn't believe John was hiding any strength.
Thunderstrike too wore a look of regret.
"What a pity. If John hadn't destroyed World-in-Hand, he might have had a chance against Lowler. But now…"
He shook his head, not overly concerned by the outcome.
On the arena, Lowler looked at John and said, "Human, I don't want to kill you. If you're wise, you'll surrender now."
He lifted his chin slightly, his expression haughty and domineering.
John only smiled. His United Sword appeared in his hand as he replied coldly, "Let's see who's stronger in the fight."
"Arrogant!" Lowler's anger flared. He didn't waste time with words. A long spear appeared in his hand as he charged directly at John.
John's expression remained calm as the two clashed.
Cold light flickered, and terrifying energy surged, causing the winds to whip around them.
The crowd surrounding the arena was in shock, continuously retreating to avoid being caught in the chaos.
"This human is also hiding his strength!" someone said, disbelief in their voice.
Lowler, too, was secretly alarmed.
The power John was showing was not in the slightest bit weaker than his own, but he still had confidence that he could defeat him.
"Human, I really underestimated you. But with your level of strength, just hand over the Heart of the Continent," Lowler sneered, his attacks growing more violent.
The spear howled through the air, forcing John to retreat repeatedly, unable to find a way to counter the onslaught.
On the sidelines, Great Bear watched the two battle with growing interest and casually remarked, "Sword Demon, who do you think will win this fight?"
Sword Demon hesitated for a moment before answering, "I think Lowler will win."
"Oh? Care to make a bet?" Great Bear asked, his smile unreadable.
"My lord, are you sure?" Sword Demon's eyes lit up with interest. "What's the wager?"
Great Bear spoke calmly, "The complete Heart of the Continent."
"Alright!" Sword Demon readily agreed, then added, "I've seen John's methods before. His strength should not be underestimated, but in the end, he's not an Overseer. He's no match for Lowler."
Great Bear turned his gaze on him, his eyes sharp and piercing. "Don't let your eyes deceive you. What you're seeing might just be what someone wants you to see. This John isn't just an Overseer—he's also a The Heaven enforcer!"
His eyes gleamed with a sharp insight. Despite how well John had hidden his true identity, Great Bear had seen through it.
