Chapter 33 - It's Too Cramped, So Let's Move
“Aoi, may I ask where you’ll be staying tonight?”
“Tanaka told me to stay at Kenya’s house. Nice to meet you.”
Tanaka, this joke has gone too far!
So, you’re staying here tonight? The person I’ve admired?
This… this is amazing… no, no, she’d hate it.
“I have no objections.”
It’s not about objections! This is a man’s house. Aren’t you wary? It’s a bit sad if you’re not.
“Senpai, are we getting another housemate?”
“It seems so…”
Misuzu asked in a voice full of disbelief.
“Four people in this house is…”
Kenya and Misuzu sighed, looking around the cramped room.
Our ten-tatami room is already crowded with three people, bumping into each other while sleeping. Misuzu often places her feet on me, which is a reward in our industry. Just kidding, it’s not a comfortable living situation.
Piron♪
Huh? A message from Tanaka?
—
The real estate agent I mentioned is available this Saturday. Does that work for you?
—
(This person is scary, the timing is too perfect, but it’s about time…)
“For now, I’ll sleep somewhere else tonight!”
I said, and she tilted her head, looking at me.
“Isn’t this your house?”
“Yes, but you wouldn’t like it, right?”
“Like what?”
(This isn’t getting through at all…)
Then the door opened again.
“I’m back! What’s up, bro, why are you just standing there? The guest is… huh!?”
Nana returned with groceries and saw Aoi. Of course, she’d react like that if a supermodel were in the house.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Reina Aoi. Pleased to meet you.”
Aoi politely greeted Nana.
“Huh? Bro, what’s going on? What’s the meaning of this?”
“Senpai, Reina is staying, what’s your relationship!? Tell me!!”
“Where should I sleep? I have my luggage too.”
The three started speaking at once. Misuzu grabbed my shirt, shaking me, demanding an explanation. I felt dizzy, could I escape?
“Anyway! Aoi will sleep here tonight! I’ll sleep in the hallway!”
“Kenya, my name is Reina…”
That’s right, she always insists on being called Reina. It’s probably a foreign custom to use first names. She’d repeatedly say, “My name is Reina.”
“Got it. Reina!”
“You don’t need to be formal; you’re my master.”
Master, as in the guild leader. Since Reina is joining my guild, it makes her my subordinate.
“Okay, Reina! Please, forgive me!”
It took almost an hour to explain Reina to the other two. Misuzu still seemed unconvinced.
…
“So, we’re moving!”
I discussed the move with the four of us around the table. I explained to Nana and Misuzu that my income had stabilized and that we could afford a bigger place. I didn’t mention the 50 million, but we’d move next month.
“Finally, saying goodbye to this house…”
Nana looked around the room while seated. It’s still shabby, but leaving makes me feel a bit nostalgic.
“It will take two or three weeks, so let’s enjoy this place in the meantime!”
“There’s nothing left to enjoy here…”
You can see everything in this house with a quick glance.
“I actually liked this place quite a bit…”
Misuzu, though she hadn’t been here long, seemed to have grown fond of this small room. At first, I felt down about living here, but now I’ve become attached.
“Misuzu, what about you?”
“Huh? About what?”
“Do you have somewhere to go?”
“…”
The room fell silent, and Misuzu looked at me as if asking what I meant.
“Huh? Are you dumping me?”
Misuzu looked like she was about to cry.
Do you accept her as a companion?
Yes
