Overlord Ashes of Yggdrasil

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Reincarnation

I feel as if my body is floating but the strange thing is that I am not in the water. I can't open my eyes, but I feel more and more euphoric, filled with excitement, as if I'm about to see the best, the most wonderful thing in the world.

As a result, I am peacefully following the current.

My memory is very sketchy, let's say, I don't remember my name or previous residence, but I'm pretty sure I'm dead. I don't remember how I died, but the thought is engraved deep in my soul.

Based on the novels and manga we read now, I guess I am now in the process of reincarnation. I will probably meet a God-like being.

Just as I was thinking this, I heard a voice that penetrated deep into my soul:

"You have very interesting and correct thoughts. I'm really gonna reincarnate you. But I'll grant you three wishes. Remember that there is a limit to these wishes, so you can't wish for more wishes or to become a god who will grant you everything you want. One of your wishes must be about the world you are going to, so you can go to a world you have read about or seen or even a world you have created. The other two you can use for your situation and the event you want to happen."

I was deep in thought, I wondered which world I could go to and live a better, more fun life. My mind was working like an engine around this thought.

After what seemed like hours for me, but was in reality ten minutes of thought, I responded: "My first wish is to go to the world in the Overlord anime, a year before the Yddgrasil game. My second wish is to have a lot of money and my third wish is that I will be reincarnated into the new world instead of a person named Suzuki Satoru."

There was complete silence for about a minute. Then the voice that spoke to my soul came again: "Your wishes have already been granted, son. Now it is time for you to go."

After the source of the voice stopped talking, I lost consciousness. When I woke up, it was evening and the streets were empty. I tried to remember where this place was and suddenly so many memories came flooding back. I was in the body of a man named Felix who lived in room 20H in one of the 20-storey buildings here. In my pockets I had an identity card, a card used as a house key and a lottery ticket. I quickly entered the building, went up to the twentieth floor and used the card to open the door. The house was very small and old, with three rooms: bedroom, kitchen and guest room. I immediately looked in the mirror and there was a handsome face with an average height of six feet, a slightly muscular body, black hair and brown eyes. I went to the kitchen, got some ramen out of the cupboard and prepared it. I was hungry as hell and while I was eating I was thinking about my future plans:

First, of course, I was going to use the lottery. Second, I had to buy the equipment to play the game and train myself in the DMMO-RPG genre until the game came out. Third, I was going to participate in the beta test to be one of the first to play the game.

After dinner I went to bed and slept until 8 a.m. I woke up in the morning, took care of my daily needs and took the lottery ticket to the bank. I won a really big amount of money. Then I bought [Nerve Gear] at the electronics store and went home with a worker to install it. The worker finished the installation quickly and left. So I excitedly fired up the Nerve Gear and downloaded some DMMO RPG games. It was weird playing the games, you really felt like you were in the game, but a few things were missing. After playing the games into the night, I reluctantly went to bed.

This monotonous routine continued for six months. I improved myself by playing DMMO-RPG games non-stop. Now the Yddgrasil game had been announced and an open beta test was to be held two weeks before its release. Of course, I was one of the thousands of people who were going to participate.

So time flew by and now we jump into beta testing time.
