PEAK IN AN EXORCIST

Chapter 6: THE KINGDOM

In a castle of nobility, a guardsman entered what looked like a throne room. As he walked on the long carpet, surrounded by unique statues and chandeliers made of crystals and gold, the place looked expensive to the naked eye.

He then kneeled down to the queen. "Your Majesty, Queen Vorica, the persecutor is in the prison as we speak."

The queen looked down at him with a mischievous grin at what she heard with her legs crossed and place her head onto her left hand. "Well, shall we pay him a visit?"

In their eyes, Queen Vorica wore a very long white dress with gold patterns, had very long silky yellow hair and green eyes, and seemed to be wearing multiple rings on her fingers.

Later, after countless walks to the royal prison, they made it. "Can you let me in? I want to talk to him personally," she said.

"Wait, it's too dangerous to—" one of the guards said but was then interrupted. "Don't worry, I'm strong. Just leave us to talk privately," she said, and then she was allowed to enter, with the guards waiting outside.

The prisoner was a very dangerous-looking man, with a short black beard, and he seemed to have multiple scars and blood stains on his upper exposed body, leaving him wearing only tattered black pants. He was restrained with chains.

"Bulec Dread, I presume?" Vorica asked.

"The queen... what... what are you doing here?" Bulec replied.

"Well, let's just say I'm not here for the crimes you've committed, but I want some information from you about the Dervish Orb," Vorica said.

He looked down with a shocked gaze. "The—the... Dervish Orb? What are you planning to do?"

" I need it for more personal reasons that don't involve a prisoner like you," Vorica replied.

Queen Vorica gave an intimidating gaze. "Now, spill it. I could wait here all day, but I'm a busy woman."

◇◇◇

It was noon, and both Beromi, Keren, and Mia were walking through the snow, about a couple of hours until they exited it.

"Lord Beromi, I heard you gave one of the Wolf Kin chef's daughters a gift, and I'm sorry to say this, but I'm kind of curious," said Mia.

Keren was riding him, his hands around Beromi's neck while both of them walked. "Master Beromi, don't worry; you can tell her."

"I gave her a talisman with half of my soldiers. I thought, even though you guys had very unique abilities in defense, i fear that they might be a greater threat that they can't handle... you mad?" asked Beromi.

"No, Lord Beromi, not at all. In fact, it makes me want to respect you even more," replied Mia.

Beromi then remembered that at first, he wanted to go where there were humans so he could get a better understanding of this world. One of the elders suggested that they go to a kingdom named Trivia, as he had been there once. Long story short, some were worried about him, but they understood, and now they walk towards it.

"Lord Beromi, look!" Mia pointed out a lush forest, but as they got a little closer to get a better view, they spotted a large number of wild monsters.

A total of 77 giant wasp-like beast was feeding on a 5-foot-long flower. "What should we do? Do we go around them? No, that will take longer," Beromi thought.

Mia then began to walk past them. "Lord Beromi, let me handle this."

"Sure," Beromi replied.

"Interesting," Keren said.

As Mia walked casually towards the monstrous-looking wasps, they detected her, and without hesitation, they began to attack. Upon being close, Mia easily dodged them by flipping, spinning, or even swaying from side to side without any effort.

The wasps seemed to have pride, so they lunged at her all at once. "Simple... ICE BRIGADE!" Mia said, then she punched the ground creating a powerful shockwave, which released not rock but thick snow surrounding both her and the wasps, causing all of them to freeze, fall, and break into pieces.

"One attack, she defeated all of them in one attack"beromi thought.

"Oh, well done, Mia! That was great," Keren said.

"Yeah, that was cool," Beromi replied.

"T-thank you," Mia said with a stoic but slightly blushing expression.

After a while, they took some pieces of the wasp, camped for the night, and when the next day came, they walked around the forest. However, mostly doing some physical training and trying to avoid any conflict with the other monsters they encounter, they reached the city of the kingdom Trivia within four hours.

At first, they panicked because they did not have an ID to enter the city at the gates. Keren stepped in by creating fake ones with her power.

Getting in, they were surprised by what they saw: many individuals wearing medieval-like armor and clothing, and lots of people. But the most intriguing thing that caught Beromi's eye was the infrastructure. Although they were not made with modern materials, the designs of the roads and buildings looked similar to those of his old world.

"Master Beromi, I think that's the place we are looking for," Keren said, pointing to a guild next to a an item shop.

When the three got in the building, some of the members of that guild stopped and looked at them. It was a new experience of attention, but they soon went back to what they were doing.

Upon reaching the reception center, they were greeted by a very unique individual, a male. He wore the same dark purple uniform as the rest of the staff, with blonde hair and blue eyes. "Well, hello! My name is Robin. I will be your attendant. What can I help you with?"

"He's too close," Beromi thought.

"Well, we are here to register," Beromi added.

"Oh, you are first-timers," Robin said with a sadistic grin, then gave them a card for both Beromi and Mia.

"Here are the requirements for you to be official adventurers. First, you should pass the written test, which will assess your magic and strategic thinking. Second is your combat test, where you will face your unique abilities. Lastly, all these tests will mean you will enter a guild school of magic and the Iron Academy, you will receive further explanation when you get there."

"Does that mean we have to go to school?" Beromi asked.

"Yes," Robin replied.

After a while, they began to walk towards the scheduled school they were told to go to. "At least I will get some useful information there," Beromi said, with a disappointed look.

"Lord Beromi, don't worry. I'm here if you want company," Mia offered.

"Thanks, Mia," Beromi gently patted her head.mia let's out a blush.

"Well, Master, how about we sleep for today? We will head there tomorrow," Keren suggested.

"Oh, OK. I just hope that I don't bring attention to myself tomorrow," Beromi said.
