Chapter 13: 13. After Not Being A Trainer, I Became A Breeder
Every master breeder is comparable to an Elite Four member or a Champion.
In other words, is Evan now comparable to a championship-level trainer?
All things considered, there's nothing wrong with this assumption.
The system had maxed out his breeder level before it went to hibernate away.
Now, if the energy cube formulas in Evan's mind were released, he would be certified as a master breeder within minutes.
Of course, this is all theoretical knowledge. In terms of practical skills, Evan still needs practice.
After getting off the bus, Evan walked for about five minutes before arriving at the Breeders Association.
At this time, the Breeders Association was bustling, with many people coming and going with their Pokémon.
This wasn't Evan's first visit, and he was quite familiar with the place.
Arriving at the door of the breeder's writing meeting, Evan reluctantly recalled Pichu and walked in.
As soon as he entered the hall, Evan heard someone calling his name.
Looking around, Professor Ethan was waiting with a young woman at a distance.
When Evan saw the young woman, he was momentarily stunned.
Wasn't this the same person he met when returning to the orphanage?
Did she know Professor Ethan?
The young woman was equally surprised. Wasn't this the person from yesterday?
Could he be the one Professor Ethan admired so much?
It seemed like fate.
…
Evan didn't dwell on it and walked over.
Seeing Evan approach, Professor Ethan introduced him with a smile.
"This is Sophia, the granddaughter of an old friend of mine."
"My family sells energy cubes."
"The ones you need."
"Hold on, I'll take you to register the patent first."
"Then you two can talk later."
"The senior breeder exam is at one o'clock."
"So there's plenty of time."
Hearing this, Evan paused for a moment, then nodded.
"Hello."
"I'm Evan."
Sophia looked at the guy in front of her and suddenly laughed.
"We meet again."
"Hello."
"I'm Sophia."
She smiled sweetly, giving off the feeling of a first love.
Moreover, she appeared very gentle.
Sophia would make a good wife, Evan thought to himself.
He coughed awkwardly and said, "Professor, I'll go register the patent first."
"I've brought the finished energy cubes and the formula."
He gestured toward the box in his hand.
Now it was time to get everything done officially.
Hearing this, Professor Ethan nodded.
"Good."
"Sophia, please wait here for a moment."
"I'll take the boy to finish things up first."
After saying this to Sophia, Professor Ethan turned and walked towards the elevator.
Seeing this, Evan quickly spoke to Sophia before following Professor Ethan.
As she watched Evan walk away, Sophia's lips curled into a small smile.
Her mood seemed quite good.
She found a seat, then took out a Poké Ball, releasing a Ralts and cradling it in her arms.
She began chatting with it.
Sophia holding Ralts was undeniably charming.
After all, Ralts are quite rare.
Who would have thought she'd see one here?
…
Registering the patent went smoothly.
The ratio of Evan's energy cube formula was not yet in the patent office's system.
Since Evan had brought the finished products with him, some tests were conducted to confirm there were no issues.
The patent certificate was issued to Evan on the spot.
For someone else, the process might have taken several days.
However, with Professor Ethan's help, things moved swiftly.
Looking at the dozen patent certificates in his hand, Evan nodded quietly.
With these, he would have a significant amount of funding.
Once the energy cube formula patents were registered, no one would be able to use them commercially for several years—unless authorized.
If someone else uses the formula commercially, the patent holder can sue the other party directly.
Of course, if someone modifies the formula and achieves the same effect, they can register a new patent. After all, there are countless ways to combine ingredients in energy cubes.
Researching and developing these formulas is a personal endeavor.
Evan's energy cube formulas, however, are quite easy to crack, and the materials used are very common.
In contrast, some intermediate energy cubes require expensive ingredients.
But what about Evan's formulas?
The most expensive ingredient in his is MooMoo Milk.
MooMoo Milk is produced by Miltank and is highly nutritious and delicious. Its price has always been on the higher side, more than double that of regular milk. Still, it's a common ingredient.
Compared to the costly materials in other mid-level energy cubes, MooMoo Milk is quite reasonable.
The production cost of Evan's energy cube formulas is only one-third of what's typical on the market. With mass production, the cost could be reduced even further.
By following Evan's formula precisely, the cubes can definitely be produced.
However, if you make random changes or mistakes in the process, the energy cube will fail.
It's easy to see how valuable these patents are.
Professor Ethan studied the formulas provided by Evan, his eyes filled with admiration.
"It seems that even if you don't pursue a career as a Trainer, you can still go far as a breeder."
"Did you develop these recipes?"
"They look simple, but the level of detail is impressive."
"Amazing."
He was genuinely amazed and, at the same time, a little proud. After all, he had taught Evan.
Hearing this, Evan smiled.
"It was just an unexpected bonus."
"Professor, let me go and talk to Miss Sophia next."
"I'm sure she'll be interested."
Now that Evan had the patent certificate, it was time to start putting his plans into motion.
Professor Ethan nodded in agreement with Evan's words.
"Go ahead."
"I've already registered you for the breeder assessment this afternoon."
"Don't forget to take the exam later."
"Next, I'll help you obtain the business license for the breeding house."
"After that, I'll be quite busy."
"I won't get involved in the specifics of your discussion."
He wanted to help Evan with other tasks as well, so he didn't have time to participate in the meeting.
The breeding house license could also be secured in advance with his assistance.
As for whether Evan would pass the senior breeder's assessment, Professor Ethan wasn't worried at all.
Evan had always been an excellent student, and now, with this energy cube formula, there was no doubt about his ability to feed Pokémon.
As for Pokémon knowledge?
There was no concern there either.
Evan had once aspired to become a Trainer, but financial constraints had made him give up that dream. To even consider becoming a Trainer, he would have had to be well-versed in Pokémon knowledge.
So for Evan, this was not a difficult task at all.
