Quirkless Hero

Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Forest Training Camp – The Test of Courage is Canceled

"The decision of the *Steins;Gate*..."

Ochako and Takeyama Urei fell silent as they stared at the numbers on their slips. Pixie-Bob smiled and congratulated them:

"Uraraka and Takeyama, you're a team!"

"..."

The two girls were too upset to speak. Meanwhile, Midoriya Izuku checked his slip and looked at the teams that had already been formed. After counting and calculating, he realized… he was the odd one out!

Class 1-A had 21 students, and with Ashido and Kaminari, who were dragged off for remedial lessons, the number was an even 20. The extra person left out was, unfortunately, him.

"Midoriya, team up with me!"

"Midoriya, let's be partners!"

Two girls quickly called out to Midoriya, but Pixie-Bob sternly stopped them:

"That's against the rules. Teams cannot be rearranged."

"..."

Ochako and Takeyama Urei looked at Pixie-Bob with a mix of frustration and disdain. *This old lady can't find a boyfriend and is worried about being single forever, but she doesn't need to drag us down with her.*

"You're badmouthing me, aren't you? I know you are!"

With cat-like intuition, Pixie-Bob glared at Ochako and Takeyama Urei, her face darkened, and she wore a dangerous, menacing smile.

"No... no..."

The two girls hurriedly shook their heads and denied it, as they stepped back from Pixie_Bob, who had a dark, twisted smile. Midoriya Izuku was sweating cold.

"Women are truly terrifying..."

Class 1-A had divided into teams, and Class 1-B had also taken their positions for the "Fear Test" competition to begin.

"Yah—ahh ahhh!!"

Horrifying screams rang from the forest, Jiro Kyoka and Koda Koji's desperate cries echoing through the air. The students of Class 1-A, waiting outside the forest, were horrified. What terrifying project had Class 1-B set up to scare them?

"Shinso, big success!"

"Just a small thing."

Shinso Hitoshi and Monoma Neito high-fived. Their scary setup had nearly scared Jiro and Koda to death. Here's what happened:

In the forest, Shinso Hitoshi, who was lying in ambush, saw the timid Jiro Kyoka and Koda Koji. He quietly called out their names.

Jiro and Koda's first instinct was to answer, but they paused... and were immediately "brainwashed."

Monoma Neito took the chance to sneak up to Koda Koji and lightly touched him, copying his Quirk.

Once the "brainwash" effect wore off, Jiro and Koda were hit with a horrifying scene. There were spiders, centipedes, toads, snakes, rats... a mass of creatures wriggling in front of them!

"Yah—ahh ahhh!!"

That was the scene that had just played out. Koda Koji fainted from the shock, while Jiro, with a sudden burst of strength, grabbed Koda and ran off in a panic. When faced with danger, people can sometimes show strength beyond their limits.

"That worked great. Now we just need that arrogant explosion-loving fool to experience it for himself!"

Monoma Neito grinned wickedly, while Shinso Hitoshi stroked his chin and thought:

"How can I scare Midoriya? What is he afraid of?"

——————————————

Forget about Shinso and Monoma's evil tricks for now. The other students in Class 1-B were also planning to give Class 1-A a big scare. The situation had turned into something like this:

Every time a group from Class 1-A entered the forest, screams would follow from within. The terrifying cries made everyone shudder. The "Fear Test" had turned into a situation where it felt like everyone was just lining up for death.

"......"

Hearing the piercing screams from the forest, Midoriya Izuku felt uneasy. He was on his own... would the students from Class 1-B really try to kill him? The others were already so terrified; just thinking about it was scary...

Not long after Todoroki Shoto and Bakugo's team entered the forest, Midoriya noticed black smoke rising from within. He immediately asked Pixie Bob:

"Did they go too far? The forest is on fire!"

"Huh? Could those two have scared themselves so badly they set the forest on fire?!"

Pixie_Bob was angry at first, but before she could finish speaking, she felt an immense force pulling her backward, lifting her off the ground.

"What?!"

Suddenly, in an unexpected turn of events, Pixie Bob was knocked out cold by a powerful blow to the back of her head, sending her crashing to the ground.

"This... what is this?!"

A man stepped out from the forest, looking like a lizard, followed by a tall man who had knocked Pixie_Bob out, and another person with a face covered in stitches.

"Hello, heroes!"

The stitched man greeted Midoriya and the others with a smile and introduced himself:

"We are the 'League of Villains.' I'm sure you're familiar with us?"

"Damn it, an enemy attack!"

Mandalay and Tiger took up fighting stances, positioning themselves to shield the students behind them. Protecting the kids was the priority in this situation.

"Why... why would the League of Villains show up here!?"

Mineta, still shaken from the previous USJ incident, was overwhelmed with fear. He never expected to encounter such a situation again so soon.

"What should we do!? What should we do!?"

Iida Tenya, covered in cold sweat, was at a loss. Despite his resolve, he was still inexperienced in situations like this. Mandalay immediately gave orders:

"Iida, take the others to the camp and meet up with Aizawa and the others. Ensure your safety first."

"Understood!!"

Iida quickly gathered the students who were outside the forest and, following the hero's instructions, began to head back to the camp. Meanwhile, Mandalay and Tiger were locked in a battle with the two members of the League of Villains.

"Wait..."

Midoriya, who had planned to follow Iida back to the camp, stopped in his tracks. He realized that one child was still out there—this was too dangerous!

"Iida, you go ahead. I have something I need to do!"

"Midoriya!?!"

Iida Tenya was shocked and anxious, but Midoriya continued running in the opposite direction while shouting to Iida and the others:

"Kouta is still out there. I have to bring him back!"

After realizing the situation, Iida and the other students quickly turned to head back to the camp, while Mandalay and Tiger remained locked in a standoff with the League of Villains.

The man with the stitches on his face didn't make a move. Instead, he simply watched Midoriya Izuku running off, deep in thought:

"So, he's alone now… This makes things easier."

On a mountaintop, two people observed the forest below where Shigaraki Tomura and Kurogiri had set a fire. Tomura received a message:

"The target is alone. We can move now."

"Great, this couldn't have worked out better!"

They had planned to intercept Midoriya on his way back, but now he had separated from the group on his own. It seemed like fate was on their side.
