Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 11: Unexpected Development

[Congratulations. You have awakened a new class skill—Spirit Syringe (S).]

[Spirit Syringe]

-Rank: S

-Effect:

—> Consume 10% of your Stamina to conjure a Spirit Syringe. You can inject it and absorb the target's Mana and Health in the Syringe, with the Syringe's limit being up to 100% of your Health and Mana. You can then use it to heal and recover yourself or others.

—> You can store up to 5 Spirit Syringes.

'Full recovery syringes?!' Almond was dumbfounded.

'Hmmm, I need to see how it works,' Almond thought as he entered the house. 'This could also work as an offensive skill because it drains the target's Mana and Health.'

It was a two-story house, so Lily went upstairs while Almond started browsing below.

Cupboards, beds, or anything that looked like it contained something.

'Common-grade weapons that are useless, but I'll use a melee one since it's better to use Wolf Claw Gauntlets as Spectral Dire Wolves.'

Almond grabbed a common-grade sword, feeling it settling in his hand.

'Sword…I felt like using it many times, but I couldn't because of my weak body.'

*Swoosh!*

Almond swung the sword horizontally, his eyes gleaming, 'This feels good.'

He then continued searching and, a minute later, looked up before thinking, 'Usually, the Bronze Treasure Chest spawning in this colony is on the 2nd floor of this house, from the information.'

Lily shortly returned and said, "I found the treasure chest."

"What did you get from it?" Almond curiously asked.

However, Lily just walked towards Almond while looking at him, her eyes piercing into his.

Soon, she was close enough for her breasts to touch his chest, which prompted Almond to step back before his back was against the wall.

'What the hell is going on?'

Almond frowned, "They are pressing against me."

"I know," Lily said as she blinked once before her eyes looked into Almond's golden-almond-colored eyes, her breasts pressed against his chest, and her face just a few inches away from his.

"Your heart is beating very fast," Lily chuckled.

Almond raised his eyebrows, "So is yours. My perception is not that low."

"Well, I am feeling a bit excited, that's why," Lily smiled behind her mask. "So, what happened to Jacob and others?"

"And before you say any bullshit, allow me to tell you that I absolutely don't care about those three idiots," Lily narrowed her eyes. "I just want to know you."

'Really?' Almond looked at her silently, her eyes crystal clear.

He didn't feel she was lying, and from what he knew about Lily, she indeed didn't give two hoots about anyone in the academy, be it any rich boy or talented boy, because no one was more rich or talented than her in the academy.

Looking at her sapphire eyes that looked as if curious, Almond's expression gradually eased as he came to a conclusion.

"I killed them."

"Why?"

"They killed me in the starting area for a Rare-grade item I found in the bronze treasure chest, but I survived," Almond coldly said, "So I killed them because if I don't, then Jacob won't leave me alive after I leave and his trash father would also support him to hunt me."

"Because I am a nobody outside, quite literally."

After a few seconds of silence, with just them staring into each other's eyes, Lily took a step back and grabbed his hand before taking out a ring from her storage pouch.

[Earth Flower Ring]

-Rank: Uncommon.

-Effect:

—> Infusing 50 Mana in the Ring will create a defensive earth flower in front of you the size of a 5-meter radius. It will disappear after one minute or if it's destroyed by attacks.

"This is what I found from the Bronze treasure chest above," Lily put the ring on Almond's index finger before looking at Almond. "From now on, you're not a nobody but my partner."

"Partner?" Almond's face showed a bit of confusion.

Lily's dark blue eyes glinted as she removed her mask, revealing her angelic yet cool beauty-type face as she charmingly smiled. Closing in, she paused with just an inch of distance between their faces, her pink lips just a centimeter away from his as she whispered with a sassy smile, "In other words, my boyfriend."

"Are you messing with me?" Almond frowned.

Lily shook her head, a faint smile on her face. "Not at all. I feel like we have chemistry, and it would be exciting to have you in my life."

"Do I have a say in it?" Almond asked with a serious expression.

"No."

'Whatever the case, it's better to go along with her for now.'

'But is she seriously serious?' Blinking twice, Almond's hand went around her waist before he pulled her towards him and pecked her lips, "Alright."

Lily was stunned, her ears turning red and her white cheeks a shade of pink.

'She was so bold, and now look at her. This confirms she has a reason to pull this on me...a reason I can't understand yet. Why does she want to be in a relationship with me? We talked for the first time today...'

"That was my first kiss," Lily wryly smiled and put her mask back on as she walked towards the door.'

"So was mine," Almond said as he followed her out. 'What the fuck is going on?'

"Good to know."

"Same."

'She...is not faking it? What's going on?' Almond wasn't sure about the reasons Lily had to like him. He didn't know what she saw in him, but... 'I have gained eyes to see if someone is sincere or scheming when I deal with them thanks to the shitty life I lived...'

'She has nothing to gain by deceiving me, not that I feel she is doing that. So what does she see in me?'

He would be more than happy if he could get an ally instead of an enemy, but he knew it was hard.

'Based on points, she has no reason to rat me out to Jacob's father. There's nothing he can give to her that she doesn't have already, not to mention she is going to a top 10 guild soon... Maybe she's just really interested in me? She is an oddball from what I knew about her, but this was a crazy curveball she threw just now.'

As they both left the house, Natalia saw them. "Yo, did you two find anything?"

"Yeah," Lily nodded. "You can search the other huts. We are going to rest."

"I can keep things I find, right?"

"Yep."

"Great," Natalia grinned and dashed into the third hut.

"Jacob's father will investigate. Three days later, he will send people here to find his son once he sees he didn't come out," Almond said as he sat down cross-legged against a nearby tree, leaning at its trunk.

"Did you forget about your girlfriend already?"

Almond's lips twitched, "This feels unreal. Just a while ago, I had considered the possibility of killing you two to keep myself safe."

Lily's eyes expressed her smile as she moved and boldly sat on his right side lap before putting her arms around his shoulder, "You need to better hide your intent to kill, though that's what made me curious in the first place."

"You could sense even that?" Almond was startled as sweat beads formed on his forehead. 'She sensed that...?'

"Well, that is thanks to my passive class skill, Phantom's Sixth Sense. If it's an intent directed at me, I'll be able to sense it even if it comes from a pro or a noob."

"As for Jacob's father," Lily's dark blue eyes glinted as she slyly smiled, "GAA will support his investigation if he comes, but it won't lead to you. Now that you are my darling, of course, I will support you."

Almond wryly smiled, "Well, that's reassuring to hear, but what about Natalia? She has hung out with Jacob multiple times, so if his father asks her and she tells him about meeting me…"

"Natalia…" Lily looked at the hut and saw Natalia emerging from the 3rd hut and smiled. But Natalia was shocked to see the duo in their position and hurriedly rushed towards them instead of going to the 4th hut.

"What's going on?!"
