RE: Evolution System

Chapter 28: CHAPTER 27: Escape

Just as Jill crouched down to check her opponent's wound, a man approached, grabbed a gun and shot the injured man.

This shot directly hit the man's head and he died. Javier didn't expect someone to shoot and kill him instantly.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Jill stood up angrily and glared at the man.

Only then did Javier see that this guy was actually Nicholai Ginovaef, Umbrella's assigned supervisor at UBCS.

Supervisors occupy a very special position at UBCS - they do not interfere in combat operations and use the identities of ordinary team members as cover. They are responsible for collecting various data during the battle between biological and chemical weapons and the UBCS team members on the mission, and recovering tissue samples, destroying dead biological weapons and evidence of Umbrella's biological weapons research.

Overseers hold Umbrella's secrets, and to prevent these personnel from rebelling, Umbrella specifically selects notorious war criminals to serve in this role, because once they betray Umbrella, they will have to face trial by a court of war. .

Furthermore, it is absolutely impossible for anyone to believe the testimony given by these war criminals. Nicholai Ginovaef and Tyrell Patrick were the supervisors of the operation codenamed "bravo-16". During the virus outbreak in Raccoon City, they put their comrades' lives at risk for the sake of high bonuses, but in the end it didn't end well either.

To ensure that the supervisors can survive at the live test site and bring the data back to the laboratory, the supervisors are injected with powerful vaccines before taking action and know the route of action to quickly reach the pick-up point.

But in Operation Bravo-16, the vast majority of supervisors were killed by zombies and out-of-control biological weapons. To monopolize the high bonuses, Nicholai continued stealing other supervisors' work results. He used traps and assassinations to eliminate his colleagues.

From this perspective, Operation Bravo-16 was a brilliant success for Umbrella, because this data provided a theoretical basis for the completion of Umbrella's "Tyrant" series of weapons.

"He's already infected," Nicholas said nonchalantly.

"That was just a possibility! You didn't have to kill him!!"

"Are all the members of S.T.A.R.S such cowards? It's pointless to be sad about something like that." Nicholai said as he walked.

"And you think you're brave for killing a wounded man?" Javier scoffed.

"At least when our teammates are still human, we won't kill them. Are you UBCS people so cold-blooded?"

After hearing what Javier said, Nicholai stopped and looked at Han Long: "We are mercenaries, profit comes above all else. In my opinion, we have no teammates or friends." After saying that, he left.

Looking at Nicholai leaving, Jill said angrily: "This guy is a lunatic." Javier patted Jill on the shoulder: "Be careful if you meet this guy in the future."

The two then left and went to the house's alley. There was also a UBCS body lying on the ground. There were some documents on him, which were combat orders issued by Umbrella.

Continuing along the alley, Javier and Jill were attacked by a zombie dog, quickly killing it. After exiting the alley and crossing the street, they arrived at the tram's power room.

There was only one zombie there. After dealing with it, the two checked the control switch."

"Damn, there's no power here."

"We're going to have to turn on the generator."

"Take this." Javier handed the shotgun to Gill, while holding an M4 submachine gun. After the two entered the power plant, they opened the four switches separately.

This place was occupied by mutated creatures. These guys look like big fleas. After they are killed, a disgusting mucus will ooze out.

After activating the four electrical switches, the two returned to the control room. At this moment, there was electricity and the control panel also lit up.

Javier turned on the power as instructed and Jill notified Carlos, who asked them to return as quickly as possible and catch the tram together.

The two returned along the same route. The road was much faster. Soon they were back at the subway station. Carlos was waiting for them outside.

Seeing the two people coming back, Carlos quickly waved at them: "That's great. I didn't expect you guys to do it so quickly."

Nicholai approached and Carlos spoke. "Nicholas, what's the situation like out there?" Nicholas lowered his voice.

"The situation is terrible. The whole city is full of monsters."

"Why are they here?" Nicholai pointed at Javier and said with a subtle expression.

"They helped start the train."

"We don't have time to hit the road with loads. They are not trustworthy at all."

Jill wanted to say something, but Javier stopped her: "Of course, what I was waiting for, you're brave to shoot a wounded comrade but you shit your pants for two people who are helping save your ass."

Nicholai huffed and left.

"Don't worry, this situation is putting everyone in a bad mood." Carlos said awkwardly.

"Let's get out of here first, then we'll talk about it." After saying that, the three of them were about to leave. Just as they were about to leave, they heard footsteps on the subway station stairs.

Then the three saw Nemesis coming down the stairs.

"I think it's time for us to get out of here." Carlos spoke and opened the metro station gate.

The gate was unable to stop Nemesis. Javier looked at the lowered gate and walked past Carlos and Jill. "I'll get his attention."

After saying that, he ignored Jill's screams and quickly ran to the side of the road. Nemesis immediately ignored Jill and Carlos, and quickly began chasing Javier.

This guy still had a grudge against Javier for that outburst, leaving the subway station and coming onto the street.

Javier shot and ran as fast as he could. The zombies blocking the streets were either killed by Javier or swept away by Nemesis.

Just as the two were chasing each other and running away, violent gunshots came from not far away. It looked like someone was fighting there.
