Chapter 3: BEING A BULLY, CHALLENGED BY A VICTIM
BEING A BULLY, CHALLENGED BY A VICTIM
"Who gives you the right to beat someone just because they didn't greet you? Who do you think you are?" I asked Yasidee.
"See who we have here today, the defender of the weaklings, Oriese of Kaleon. Last week, you beat this scum until he couldn't come to school for a week, this is the first day he returned to school and he still doesn't learn his manners, I'm teaching him manners in case he ran into you first", Yasidee said to me.
The rest of the students around us quickly ran when they saw me come. In their mind, I didn't come to save the wretched student from being bullied by Yasidee but came to pick a fight with the young master of the Ermane family, Yasidee.
"Did I beat this guy up last week?" I asked Saye softly.
"Yes, you did that to Jaipore, and you said you will beat him up again when you saw him", Saye replied to me.
"Damn, did I really do that? Am I really a bully?" I asked her.
"Yes, you are a bully, one of the worse in this school", she replied to me.
"Jaipore, stand up and go back to class. You don't have to beg this Yasidee", I told Jaipore.
But Jaipore suddenly lunged at me, although he missed and fell to the ground.
"What is your problem, Jaipore?" I asked him.
"It is you Oriese, are we a joke to you? Don't pretend to be nice to me when I am suffering because of you", Jaipore shouted to me.
"Yasidee is the one bullying you, not me", I told him.
"You see, creeps like this needs to learn their manners when they see their masters", Yasidee told me about Jaipore.
"Stop it Yasidee, can we just live peacefully. Let bygones be bygones", I told Yasidee and also Jaipore.
"There is no way to end this unless I defeat you, Oriese. Only strength determines our fate in this world", Jaipore shouted to me.
"What the hell are you talking about, Jaipore?" I asked the bullied boy.
"I challenge you, Oriese to a duel to the death", Jaipore shouted to challenge me.
"Damnit, Yasidee is the one beating you up", I told Jaipore.
"Do you accept it, or will you send your goons to beat me?" Jaipore questioned me angrily.
"Damnit, what is this guy's problem?" I asked Saye.
"You humiliated him last time by taking his pants off and making your friends take turn squeezing his butt", she told me to my horror and disgust.
"What the hell, did I really do that?" I asked her and she nodded in agreement.
"Damnit, what kind of sicko body suit you got for me?" I asked Saye.
"Scum, you were almost beaten to death last week, what makes you think you can fight our school's illustrous young master", another boy on my side scolded Jaipore.
"This is none of your business Agrilla", Jaipore replied to him angrily.
Agrilla was one of my goons who helped me bully the poor students in school. Without any prompting, Agrilla rushed to Jaipore, conjuring a powerful lion around his body. As his punch struck Jaipore, the conjured lion exploded on him with a powerful force.
"Stop it, Agrilla", I tried to stop Agrilla but it was too late.
Suddenly, emerging from the dust filled grounds, was Jaipore who stood up to face us.
"I will no longer be bullied by you scum anymore", Jaipore screamed as the air around him swirled with a powerful intensity.
The students ran as they saw Jaipore going berserk. Even Yasidee and my goon, Agrilla ran far away from the berserking boy.
"What are you trying to do?" I asked Jaipore.
"I am going to kill you today", Jaipore screamed at me.
Suddenly, I became the only one standing before Jaipore since everybody else ran. Even Saye was a comfortable distance away from me, giving me a fist, which says, "Go fighting".
"Damn you Jaipore, I'm not going to fight you", I told Jaipore.
Jaipore was at the peak of Earth tier or perhaps he was already at Mars tier in his templar magic. However, his aura showed us his strength wasn't that of a Mars tier. He was at least one to two tiers stronger than he should be.
"How did you become so strong?" Agrilla asked Jaipore as the air around him turned into a cyclone that caught us within its reach.
"I have to hide my strength because of fools like you. Now that you make me reveal my true strength, you will die, Oriese", Jaipore screamed at me.
"He is hiding his real strength", the students shouted out and asked.
"How can his aura become this strong, nobody at Mars tiers can summon this amount of magic", another student asked in horror and shock.
Jaipore's strength was far stronger than his actual magical tier.
But that wasn't surprising to me at all.
Templars could in rare situations be born with gifts of magic affinities that made them stand out among the others. I was one of them.
I am of an Angel Affinity which gave me more magic, about four times more than what I should be getting at my magic level. Jaipore seemed to have the same affinity as me.
Suddenly, Jaipore conjured a powerful tornado that formed into a spear that rushed toward me.
"Run", Saye shouted to me.
But it was too late to run from Jaipore's tornado wind strike. I stood there to take the harm from Jaipore's strongest attack.
Jaipore's wind surrounded me, spinning wildly around my body, trying to tear it apart. The strength of Jaipore's wind could destroy a powerful magical creature but I merely stood there.
Jaipore's wind was harmless to me. It couldn't breach the magic of my body armor, a layer of magic around my body that was granted to every templar. But my body armor was far stronger than usual because it was enhanced by Bone magic.
[Bone magic is the magic that I learned in Byorgvin Island. Later it was revealed that this magic is a part of the Magic of Prolis, the strongest magic users that this world ever knew existed.
I happened to meet a monkey god, Hanuman, who taught me a magic that could enhance my templar abilities, by infusing my bones with magic instructions and essences from magic artifacts.]
My templar body armor was enhanced by my bone magic to become almost impregnable, at least for the boy, Jaipore's magic.
The wind around me swept violently but it failed to harm me.
Eventually, the wind wound down and I was left standing there, unharmed at all.
"Impossible, how can you be unharmed by all that I've got? This is so unfair," Jaipore shouted out to me angrily.
"This Jaipore is hiding his true magic, and his magic is strong, but he is no match for the wealth of the Kaleon family, Young master Oriese must be wearing powerful artifacts and armor that poor kids could never dream of breaking", a student explained the situation to the others.
"Hey, Oriese, did your father buy another good armor for you again. It is a waste to use good money against scums like Jaipore", Yasidee shouted to me.
"Shut up, Yasidee", I scolded the bully.
"This is impossible", Jaipore screamed again on the ground as the rain started to pour.
"Young master, we should get back to class", Saye asked me as he brought an umbrella to take me away.
"What about Jaipore?" I asked the girl.
"It is his fate as someone poor even though he is a rare talent", she replied to me.
"Send someone to take care of Jaipore", I asked Saye.
"Forget about it. You are his biggest enemy now and he will not take anything from you, even kindness", she replied to me.
"I am changing things around here. Oriese will not be a bully anymore", I told Saye.
"This world is difficult to change, even if you are rich and powerful. You just have to act out your character, don't give me trouble", Saye said to me.
Suddenly, several men in white robes came to carry Jaipore up.
"See, at least there are kind people who will help him", I said to Saye, pitying Jaipore's situation.
"Those..erm…those are people from the Church. They are Inquisitors", Saye told me to my surprise.
"Why are the Inquisitors here and why are they taking Jaipore?" I asked her.
"This school is run by the church, have you forgotten", she told me.
"But why are they taking him", I asked.
"You, Jaipore, are immediately under arrest for being a Deviant of the Church of All-seeing", the templar inquisitor told Jaipore to his shock and horror.
"What did I do?" Jaipore protested angrily.
"Yeah, what wrong did the boy do?" I asked as well when the answer was revealed to us.
"Jaipore, you are suspected to have an Angel's Affinity, an affinity banned by the Church of All-seeing. You are under arrest and will be sent to Elis for reform", the templar knight replied to him.
"No, that is so unfair", Jaipore screamed out in anger.
