Chapter 36: THE TEMPLE OF MAGIC
THE TEMPLE OF MAGIC
We ventured into the hidden sanctuary nestled under the heart of the east forest.
This was no ordinary sanctuary. It existed as a realm of enchantment.
Above us, the inky darkness of the sky came alive with the radiance of countless stars. Yet, these were not mere stars—they were the celestial stars of the conjurer's mystical templar sky.
Our path unfolded beneath us, laid out in tiles crafted from obsidian glass that mirrored the brilliance of the star-studded heavens.
It felt as though the expanse of this place knew no bounds. This wasn't just a temple. This was a realm of magic unto itself.
Devoid of inhabitants, this mystical space bore no embellishments or fixtures. Only the enchanting sky, adorned with stars of myriad hues and spectrums, stretched endlessly above us.
----
"What the hell is this place?" Sara asked us.
"This doesn't look like the temple of the conjurers", Meera said to us.
"This doesn't look like a temple at all", Chash told us.
"There is nothing here except stars", Cassandra said to us.
"Is this place the magic that attracted all the wild creatures to this part of the forest?" Rinna asked us.
"This place has something to do with the Conjurers, but the question is what is this place?" I asked them.
"I've been all around this place, there are no treasures at all. Hell, there is no rubbish in this place either. There is nothing here", Ratatouille complained to us.
"There must be magic in this sky", Rinna told us.
"Let me try Greenduff's constellation here again", I told them.
I focused on the stars in the sky and to my surprise, the stars here responded to me although they were not stars in my templar sky.
"What is the matter?" Rinna asked me.
"I can connect to the stars in this realm", I said to them.
Suddenly, the stars in the sky lit up brightly. Magical corridors quickly linked those stars forming a constellation in the sky of this magical realm.
Suddenly, a voice spoke to us.
------
"Supreme Conjurer, why have you visited us?" the voice asked us.
"I am not a Supreme Conjurer", I told the voice.
"You are not, but you are his successor. Why have you visited us?" the voice asked me.
"Who are you?" I asked the voice.
"We? We are the Temple of Magic, the origin of templar magic in this world", the voice told me.
"Is this a sage that answers all our questions?" Cassandra asked us.
"Maybe it is a sage but it only answers Orion's questions?" Rinna told us.
The Temple of Magic spoke to me and only to me, probably because I was the one who activated the magic constellation that called out the voice.
"Ask him if there are any treasures here?" Ratatouille asked me.
"Is this temple the reason all the wild creatures are drawn to this place?" I asked the Temple of Magic.
"Yes, a magic is present here in the temple that attracts magical creatures to this place", the Temple told us.
"Is there a way to stop the wild creatures coming to this place?" I asked the Temple.
"Yes, there is", the voice told me.
"Can I know how?" I asked the voice.
"You can tell the stars to do whatever you want them to do. This realm is where the Supreme Conjurers cast their magic", the voice said to me.
"Do you mean the constellations in this magic realm could be used to cast magic?" I asked.
"Yes," the voice replied to me.
"We can change the magic that attracts wild creatures to this place from this constellation sky", Meera said to me.
"But I don't have the constellation map to do that, where can I find the constellation to stop the attraction of wild animals here?" I asked the Temple's voice.
"I cannot tell you that. You'll have to conjure the magic in this sky yourself", the voice told me.
"This is a dead end, we don't have the constellation to stop the creature attraction", Chash said to us.
"Can you create a constellation yourself, master?" Meera asked me.
"That is not how my understanding of templar constellation works. I always follow the constellation created by others and at most I combine different constellations in a process of trial and error. I wouldn't know how to cast the constellations to stop the drawing of animals here", I replied to them.
"Maybe you should let Sara try", Rinna told me.
"Sara? Sara can cast templar magic now?" I asked Rinna.
"No, she doesn't know templar magic, but she understands magic in its most basic elements", Rinna told me.
"Let me try to communicate with these stars", Sara told us suddenly.
Sara focused on the magic in the skies for a very long time. Then she spoke to us.
"This is a giant casting artifact", Sara told us.
"What?" I asked her.
"The stars in the sky of this place can be linked together like magical circuitries", Sara told us.
"Does that mean you can cast magic from this sky?" Rinna asked Sara.
"I am not familiar with its programming language, I don't know how to stop the attraction of magical creatures to this place", Sara told us.
"That means we are back to square one", I said to them.
"However, I can take this artifact from this place", Sara told us to our surprise about the Temple of Magic.
In my previous life, I could link to magic artifacts and replicate their magic circuitries inside my body although in the process, the artifact would be wrecked. Sara inherited my enhanced human body from my previous life, and she has that ability.
[I was an enhanced human in my previous life. When my soul was taken into the Realm of Rebirth, my body remained in this world. Sara, who was my AI controller, a program that assisted me, took over my enhanced body and became the Sara that we know now.]
