Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red

Chapter 32: A Nightmare Is a Dream Too (2)

She and Myrtle had learned this in their previous life, but Myrtle was stronger than her in the physical aspect. This skill she developed was completely lost after she married Alistair, and her stamina dwindled over the years.

If Adrienne's parents knew what she was doing, they would oppose it. However, since her father didn't have an ounce of care for her and her mother was deep in a coma, Adrienne could only rely on herself for protection. She knew the basics, but her body needed strength and stamina to utilize it.

Amateurs were thought to focus on basic boxing skills as most people find it relatively intuitive to strike using their hands. Beginners will also learn how to jab, cross, hook, and basic front and side covers for defense. This was enough for Adrienne for now. She didn't need to use complicated skills to subdue these arrogant girls.

"That's not true, little sister." She said with a sarcastic smile before slapping the first girl. The girl held her cheek and looked at Adrienne in disbelief. She reminded Adrienne of those pampered young misses from other affluent families who never experienced bitterness in life.

The other three flew in rage and attacked Adrienne simultaneously. However, their movements were too easy for Adrienne to read. She stepped back, stepped aside, and slapped the girls' wrists hard. Adrienne hit them back when they wanted to beat her for standing up for Samantha, targeting their weak points. It didn't take long before the four girls found themselves sprawled on the ground, writhing in pain.

Adrienne went back to the alley where Samantha was previously beaten. She picked up a metal pipe as wide as her arm and tested its weight on her hand before returning to the girls. The four girls were stunned when they saw her coming after them, fear written on their faces.

"What do you think you're doing?!" The group leader cried out. "It's none of your business what we do to Samantha Qin! Even if we murder her, the authorities won't hold us liable!"

She tapped her chest with her fist, her face contorting into one with despair, but she looked pathetic in Adrienne's eyes.

"We're still young, and the adults would believe and give us a chance to repent! Until we've reached legal age, no one can persecute us! But you?" She laughed. "My parents can sue you for assault! Samantha Qin doesn't have anyone to back her up. It's her fault being born as a mistress's child!" She continued, only fueling Adrienne's anger toward them.

So the law prevented them from being held accountable for the misdeeds they have done? What about those victims who chose to end their lives because they couldn't take it anymore? Were their lives not as worthwhile as those who bullied them?

While their bullies continued their lives and continued to prosper, their victims were left with a deep scar they would have to bear for the rest of their lives. These girls were still young, and they were already power tripping. This kind of attitude could cause irreversible damage to innocent lives.

If Adrienne hadn't met Samantha today, would the poor girl end her life tragically? Even if Lennox Qin's relatives didn't go after Samantha, what are the odds the girl wouldn't take her life after all the suffering she experienced?

Even if Samantha chose to report these bullies, Adrienne knew that the parents of these girls would only drag the case out until it was time for them to graduate, which meant kissing their wrongdoings goodbye. It also didn't help that while the dispute was in progress, the victims and the aggressors, often classmates, remained in the same classroom without any separation, which added to the victims' torment.

Obviously, the law missed a few loopholes. School bullying remained rampant and continued to increase over the years. If the law or heaven couldn't help someone like Samantha, then Adrienne would take the matter into her own hands.

"As Samantha's elder sister, do you think I'll allow someone to bully her in front of me? She might be an illegitimate child, but do not forget she's still a Qin. How dare some scum like you think you could bully a member of the Qin family and get away with it? Is your family name as grand as the Qins', hmm?"

Adrienne dragged the end of the pipe against the concrete pavement, the sound sending cold shivers down the girls' spine. They were used to being the bigshots, so they had never thought they would find themselves in Samantha's shoes one day.

The three girls watched in horror as Adrienne kicked their leader on her chest and swung the metal pipe toward their friend. The loud clang sound reverberated around the area, which was followed by a deafening silence.

"Oh? I missed it?" Adrienne chuckled coldly, looking at the girl beneath her foot with amusement. "I was aiming to break your hand."

She then smiled, flashing her perfectly white teeth. "Maybe I should hit your beautiful face instead. Such a beautiful face doesn't go well with your rotten heart and stinky mouth."

"No…no… please…" The girl started to cry hysterically. If she had known something like this would happen, she wouldn't have messed with Samantha Qin. Who in the world was this woman?

"Little Sister, what you said earlier is true. You're still young, full of dreams; hence, you think our elders won't hold you responsible for your misdeeds. But do you know, even if it isn't me, there's always someone out there more powerful than you? If you are this arrogant because of your parents, they could be targeted instead. Do you believe I can get away even if I break each bone on your body tonight? Do you know why? Because I have more resources and influence than you. I can make your life a living hell like you did to my younger sister."

Adrienne leaned forward, her weight being supported by the metal pipe. She then whispered. "Dreams do come true, but dear, aren't you forgetting that a nightmare is a dream too?"
