Chapter 4: : I am A Land Battleship
I've finally gotten around to update this book. Yes!
Dear viewer ….,
This chapter will be long as it basically combines two fights that would have occurred in two different chapters but some cat from another world told me otherwise.

Get some popcorn get into a good reading position as we dive into where we last left off..
Nature..
Majestic and beautiful, untouched by the filthy hands of humanity.
You look into the distance and see a huge mountain range one that would make mount Everest look like child, but that isn't the main thing that caught your eye.
From the direction of the ocean you see a pillar of smoke, a normal person may say- that's just some random fire it's no big deal.
But it's the middle of Autumn where the cold winds from the north slowly start blowing down south. You run quickly to investigate.
On the way you pass by multiple creatures fleeing from that direction, from what you see and what your gut tells you, something very powerful is right there.
The closer you get the louder the sound of something being ploughed through gets. Yes a plough sound, if you ever get a pickaxe or whatever you use to plough and move through the ground that's the sound that's being produced except this one is a deeper sound almost sound like something immovable is coming right at you.
You creep closer and poke your head through a random bush that just spawned there and feast your eyes on a huge beast.
The beast was like never before seen with lots of snouts on its body, which is what you would've said if you were those dumb medieval fantasy guys but you are modern.
You instantly notice the big 18 inch guns and the other weapons however what puzzled you most was that this ship was sailing on rock hard soil!.
Moving your gaze to the bow you instantly shout in surprise as you look at one of the most physics defying moments.
Whoever said we couldn't swim on dry land was wrong.
The ship was moving as if it were sailing on a calm sea, the soil in front of the bow acted like normal soil but when the bow moved closer some weird magic type thing happens that make the soil to act like a liquid of some sort allowing the steel warship to sail through dry land without leaving a trench in the soil.
Tearing your eyes from the soil you look up to notice another odd thing. Though the ship was moving its turrets were not. In fact its turrets weren't level, above 00, but have a negative incline almost as if something was broken in the turret itself.
The boilers were running smoothly as shown by it moving but it was at a slow speed, apart from those two sign you did not know if the creature was alive or not.
Hey what are doing with my story!
Oh it seems that he was spotted by the author and now will blip into another dimension.
Crazy lunatics always invading my books- anyway back to the mc.
Darkness.
Sweet eternal darkness oh how I love you.
Actually she didn't like darkness at all or blinding white. She just wants to be awake.
'When will my body wake up or will I even wake up. Maybe I died when my bow rammed that beach. Hmm, don't think so, rock can't pen 32 inches of imperial steel if I had to say'
When she died a similar thing happened but it was white then black not black alone.
She let out a sigh in the eternal darkness as she patiently waited for something to happen but when you're staring at nothing but black, your sense of sanity quickly fades away, if you are weak minded like she is, and then you start doing dumb stuff.
'Alright you want me to do something don't you!' she mentally shouts at a random person, 'Fine I confess that I hacked World of Warships to get legendary aiming but that was completely justifiable and…'
In the end she basically gave a testimony of most of the things I did wrong in my past life and begged for forgiveness but the inky blackness just remained as it is. In the end this left me pretty angry.
'This is all BS! I should be fighting monsters right now but no I'm trapped in a void prison with no way out. Sometimes I just wish a nuke spawns and gets me out of here'
And here is where we learn the very helpful skill of thinking before we speak, as our words have power that we don't even know.
CLANG
In front of her very own eyes was what she asked for.
'Oh hey would you look at that, a nuke finally arrived…. Wait .. OH, SHI---BOOM!
Before she even finish that curse, the nuke went off as in a matter of seconds here vision was suddenly blinded with pure eternal white and nothing else. This almost made her think that she trapped again until she could feel a sharp feeling growing from her heart.
PAIN
Sweet, unbelievable amount of pain started from her heart and in a matter of seconds circulated around her body lighting it up with pain. She wanted to scream but she couldn't as she had no mouth. Her brain was literally on fire as blobs of her vision returned to her.
Even with the pain circulating her body, her mind latched onto the retuning vision and focused with all its might. In dire situations ones brain tends to have a tunnel vision where it will use all available resources to escape something.
The battle between insanity and sanity raged across her body as she could herself moving forward now. The final trigger just so happened to snap her back to reality and it wasn't her brain but more of her
KA-BOOM!
Main 18 inch guns.
At first she was still frozen in pain before it begun to thaw away as her mind entered into a semi battle mode. Her barrels all lifted up to a neutral position as her electronics come online and it was only when she gazed across the supposedly blue ocean did she receive a shook of her life.
'Why the hell am I sailing on LAND!?'
It was no joke as she could feel her hull pierce the soil as her boilers pushed her through the now liquid soil which made her brain look at its common-sense and chuck it over the deck.
'Am I high on water? Cause I'm sailing on land or maybe I'm still in an illusion and the whole entire world is a just a sea for me to conquer!'
With the prospects of being the ruler of the globe, she rotated her front secondary as she aimed at a nearby patch of soil. If the land was in a liquid state then the shells would sink before forming a water column but if they were solid then the shells would explode on impact creating dust and a crater.
She adjusted her barrels a bit before releasing her shells to the soil and the result is what we are all thinking.
A giant water column rose over the soil confirming to us that the world is made entirely of water…
[Okay first of all I'm not dumb and who keeps on changing the script.]
Okay, the shells impacted the soil hard before exploding into a large fireball that sent dust and debris everywhere and the aftermath of the explosions were some craters which were a few feet deep.
Huh, there goes her plan for world domination, which means that she must either still be in a realistic illusion or there could be some magical BS happening to her which seemed highly likely and very possible.
Again, she let out a sigh as she viewed the surrounding area she was in even though she still feels that burning pain from that mental nuke which was weird.
It seemed that she was in a grassland biome as there weren't any trees on the horizon. On the topic of monsters, she didn't see any that would be big enough to make a threat to her and currently she didn't to kill the weak monsters as it may as well lead to her committing a war crime on them as the pain was still in her system and any aggression may lead to a sudden exploded death.
Apart from that, she noticed that the land wasn't as rough as she thought it would be as she was maintaining a constant 26 knots on her speed which was fast for her but for someone like Shimakaze whose top speed was I think 42 knots which if you want to compare in terms of humans.
Shimakaze is an athletic sports person while she was a normal person who doesn't exercise a lot but has a good speed to them.
Looking up at the sky, she realized that it was somewhere close to noon as the sun was sort of in the middle of the sky. This was perfect in her case as she really had to get experience on how to do that.
What she means by that is the ability to shot over the horizon.
Okay, pause. Quick lesson: the Yamato's normal max firing distance is somewhere between 23 to 27 km but when the special perk is used the max distance is raised to about 32km which is past the horizon making it possible for you to hit a stationary object from the comfort of wherever you are.
This special perk was her recon plane which could be used to send to send coordinates of an object but in her case she had no clue on how to send a message with these old timer electronics thus she would practically test it so that she adds another advantage to her belt.
With a mental pull a recon plane of similar model to the one last chapter emerged as just before, she used the crane to lift the float plane up and attach it to the catapult which was already swung out and ready to launch.
Switching her perspectives to the planes, she did some pre-flight checks like seeing if her engine turns on or seeing if her wings actually move. Once done she increased her heart beat= increasing engine power as she waited for it to reach max output before releasing the latch sending her body through the air with speed as she immediately pitched up to gain altitude.
Looking back at her ship, she could see it continue moving forward even though her conscious was not present, it moved on without a care in the world.
Now that she was up there she had to pick if she should go to the left or right. Without thinking much, she chose the right as it felt the right choice.
The loud buzz of her engine echoed throughout the land as it attracted the attention of every monster, who all looked above to see a monster not of their world, that flew without moving its wings in the air, soaking up the sun's rays as it carefully looked for a test object.
All she could see from her height advantage was grass, more grass, some oversized mobs that strangely looked like a mix between a cow and a horse, some oversized rocks and some tracks that look like a tank passed through the area recently but the length and space between the left and right track was impossibly large. You could fit two mouse tanks in the middle and still have room to spare, this made her think of the only super tank big enough for that and it was the p-1000 Rate but that was highly questionable, meaning that someone got reincarnated with her which was highly unlikely.
Apart from that there was nothing that warranted her attention until she flew over a spot that lacked rocks but in its middle was a giant structure made of rocks and from her height it seemed that there were some carvings on it.
Without regard for her safety, she lowered the plane's altitude until it was some 50 metres off the ground. From there she started to circle the mysterious object as she noticed more details about it.
It seemed as if someone took a bunch of stones, a hammer and smashed them together. From the end result you then carve weird characters that don't even make sense on the object. Last but not least, to prove that you're totally and 100 percent sane, you build a moat around it and instead of water being there its blood!
Just some metres away from the object she could see a pile of corpses of different animals arranged into two piles. This in her eyes, was some messed up stuff that deserved to be crusaded.
But thing is there is no roman church in that universe thus a holy crusade can't be made. But who said we need crusades when we have our own we call it the 18-inch crusade, this should not be confused with the nuclear crusade as that is something else entirely.
Anyway, with the mental picture of the test object in mind she switched perspectives to her ship, which was still sailing freely. She could sense where her plane was and its direction, though she could also sense a different thing.
It was stationary and did not move but from the way she sensed it, it had an enemy aura even though she knew it was just a plain rock structure.
Seeing that there won't be any negatives she took aim with her turrets as she rotated them to her right and silently waited for the barrels to load a HE before raising her barrels to end the quick life of a rock. She did some elevation changes until it felt just right for her to fire.
Ka-Boom!
With a resounding sound that echoed across the great plains for miles on end as her 9 shells cut through the air as they raced towards their target.
She quickly changed her position to her spotter plane which was still circling the rocks, which was surprising as she thought it would fly in a random direction once she switched to her ship.
Anyway, she eyed keenly for her shells as the 30 second wait time was almost up until she could her a distinctive whistling through her engine noises. Looking at the rock formation she watched 9 shells exploded on impact vaporising the blood in the moat and destroying whatever religious rock that was for.
She most probably got revenge for those poor animals that were sacrifices but she didn't think much on that as she could feel a pang of hunger growing within her, she pitched the plane to the right aiming to head back to her ship.
Unknown to her a loud shriek could be a heard as in the distance a group of mysterious monsters rushed over to the now obliterated rock with speed after they heard and saw the explosion.
When they reached the sight of the explosion there was nothing but a giant crater left and all pieces of their god were nothing but fragments and dust. One of the green skinned monsters roared in frustration as it chucked its iron axe into the ground.
The green skinned monsters in the group looked at the disappearing metal monster with seething anger as a call for vengeance would soon be issued for their god.
Back to Haruka
She felt stupid.
Why?
You see a battleship is meant to battle and operate while at sea. This means that most hardware would be modified for sea use as well the planes.
She's sailing on LAND.
Her floaters which acted as landing gears at sea were useless on land as they would make her landing more bumpy for her.
With a sigh she switched back to her ship and decreased her ship's speed to 12 knots as she rotated the crane. The spotter plane was flying at a low altitude and was going to land in front of the ship but to the side so that she could pick it up easily.
Switching back to the plane, she made sure to lower the engine speed even more as the ground was becoming closer and closer. When she passed her ship was when she let her floater touch the ground and the word bumpy wouldn't even describe the landing.
Even if they were in a plain biome, it did not mean that the ground was flat. Her body shook against the rocks and pebbles before it left floater dipped because of a crater and this caused her right side to get some air and almost capsize her before her body was violently thrown back to its original position hard. Before her speed could reach zero both of her floaters hit a rock sending her body into the air before crashing down like a ragdoll.
It wasn't the smoothest landing but at least she got minimal damage. Taking a second to relieve her tension she switched to her ship and carefully picked her plane and put it back in her hangar, however, she could feel something being used. It felt like something was depleting her energy but it wasn't energy but something else.
The most possible conclusion was that her plane was being repaired if she was guessing correctly. But she didn't really have a clue.
After confirming that she can do super long range kills, so she decided to plot the route she would take.
Looking around with her multiple field of views she decided to enter the forest that was on the horizon as well as pass the mountain behind it which looked to be as tall as mount Everest or maybe even taller.
With the new destination set she swung her bow as she put her engine at full speed. Lush green scenery rushed past her as her bowed ploughed through the soil undisturbed, but as she got closer to the forest she realised that there was a slight tremor in the ground. She could feel shock waves sound through her hull as it kept on getting bigger and bigger until she could see a cloud of dust on the horizon.
All 3 of her main guns pointed in the direction of the possible danger as a red glow could be seen within the kicked up dust. From the cloud of dust emerged every fantasies most disliked monsters though it looks like these ones were given and extra dose of steroids, radiation and something else as they were far from your ordinary E class monsters.
Yes they were goblins, however with every other monster in that universe they were turned up a notch into super goblins if you could say. From her view point it looked like she was staring at goblins that were 10 times the height of normal midget ones and that they had iron tools which was weird.
Currently the group which was seeing looked to be over 10,000 which was a number that was staggering amount but if you were a battleship this seemed like a battle that could be won.
Plus if said battleship had a deep hatred for goblins for what they do to girls in anime and books and say if said battleship was nuclear then it was going to be a blood bath.
Yes she hated goblins to that extent just like that mc in the goblin slayer if her memories served her right. Anyway back to the battle, both sides were quiet which was broken by the goblins heavy breathing and the ship's loud ploughing noise as it slowed down considerably.
They both eyed each other as it seemed that these goblins were smart and instantly noticed the metal work on the monster which destroyed their statue.
With a loud battle cry their leader led them forward as it had a plan to bring the monster to its knees. The battleship also sounded its war cry as it was a mix of
KA-Boom!
Boom!
Da-Da-DA!
Ra-Ta-Ta-Ta
Rounds and rounds of shells were pumped out from the battleship that it even made the ground tear apart just from the recoil and pressure waves her main guns produced.
The approaching goblins would later here a loud whistling sound as a small white object blurred into the centre of the goblin horde and exploded with so much force that it killed anything near it while the explosive force created thrust some goblins forward like a piece of meat.
More explosions sounded around them as the goblins struggled to get their bearing correct until their leader gave a shout in goblin language. These more advanced goblins had a higher thinking power which some thought to on par or sometimes even greater than a human.
Their leader observed the metal monster as it tore apart his fellow brethren behind him. Once he understood how the beast attacked he put in plan his attack strategy. With a high pitch squeal he signalled to the special group at the very back to commence attacking.
For the battleship, she wasn't really putting much effort as it seemed that the goblins were so scared by the explosions that they gave up trying to attack, even as she continued firing making goblins turn into charred chunks of meat she had a sense of fore boarding in her mind as she felt something grow in power behind the dust kicked up by the explosions.
Even her sonar which somehow worked, begun to glitch as its ultra sound waves were disrupted by an unforce. She was about to reset the sonar when she saw 6 large bright orange lights emerge from the smoke screen.
This made her do a double take as she tracked the 6 balls of light which were actually large balls of fire that were about the size of 2 of her main guns combined. Her AA tried to blow up the fire balls but their rounds just melted from the intense heat produced.
When all 6 of them slammed into her body, she felt herself tilt as a warm sensation filtered throughout her body. The explosion disoriented her she tried to recover her bearings but more and more of those fireballs slammed into her making it difficult to aim as some of her optical sensors were damaged from the heat making her just fire blindly.
Most of her shells either flew very far away or very close but the chances of her scoring a direct hit were very low and
the goblins themselves didn't just sit idly and watch. They were filled with determination and closed the gap until they were within striking distance.
The barrage of flames stopped as on every goblin a gold red aura appeared on them as they brought their weapons to the armoured belt of the battleship.
Being hit with over 400 strengthened goblins at once sent a shock wave throughout her body as she felt her very internals tremor by the just the sheer force. It felt like she was smacked with a 16 inch shell to cheek but there was no pain for some reason.
With the onslaught of fire over, she brought her remaining AA guns which were glowing red hot and spewed HE shells at the goblins below.
With the quick reloading of her AA she was able to prevent the goblins from attacking again as her AA shredded their attacking force. Just as things were beginning to bad for the goblins, her sonar started glitching again but at a greater rate as she feel the ground tremor.
From the dissipated smoke screen from her lookout view, she could see the ground being cracked apart and levitated where they were combined into 5 needle shaped rocks. She wouldn't let them fire as her main guns retaliated sending 9 HE shells downrange with somewhat lacking accuracy.
Of the 9 only 3 managed to hit the intended area but they were stopped by a wall of rock. With her attack a failure the goblins let their rock spears cut through the air with great as the slammed into the hull of her ship.
It felt as if she was gut punched by Iowa and Montana at the same time. Her armour belt was significantly dented but not penetrated as she thought but now this whole battle was beginning to make her angry as within her secondary turrets alarms were blaring inside the turret as the pulley mechanism pulled out a glossy black shells from the depths of the magazine.
She didn't want to use her type-99 nukes but when push comes to shove she would gladly use them. Her secondary's aimed at the centre of the goblin horde some distance away and fired as 6 suns were dropped on the goblins.
The leader was going to prepare for another attack run but his senses screamed at him that there was danger. He could hear the whistle and could only shout at the goblins to disperse before his world turned white and incredibly hot.
It felt like that time he was burnt by lava but worse, he could feel burns going all the way until the bones that made him up. After some time he could feel his body smack into the ground with a thud as it continued driving him into the soil.
Just breathing alone took a lot from him and opening his eyes was a struggle he never before faced, when he opened his eyes he could only see a giant black mushroom loom over the area he once was. He could faintly see his brethren lie scattered on the ground but there was no hope. He could feel it within his soul that even if he was healed there was something in him that would eventually kill him.
He mustered of his remaining life force and gave one last command to the shamans, a command that was never given in all of their history.
The shamans themselves could only stare in horror at what happened to their attacking force. The power of such an attack was so great in made them wonder if they were fighting a god or not, but that thought was quickly removed when they heard the last and final death cry of their leader before silence reigned supreme over the lands.
It took time for them to digest the command but when they did it was like an inferno was lit within them. If their brethren's died then they would die with them expending all of their life force into mana for one final attack.
After, successfully eradicated the ground force of the goblins, she thought that if the goblins really were smart then they would retreat. With that mentality she swung her main guns around as she continued into flank speed.
However, the goblins were far from being done. Her sonar was now picking up waves of something like there was another radar in the area but all she could see were scorched earth and dead bodies. The waves progressed in intensity until the sonar once again glitched before shutting itself down.
In the first case the sonar shouldn't even turn off and moreover any command to reactivate it got zero results. This left her wondering what was going on before she heard the crackle of thunder to her right.
Out of curiosity, as there were no clouds in the sky, she looked at the source of the sound and was baffled to see 4 needle like projections hover above the ground.
They weren't the colour of the previous rocks but they were silver in colour almost like they were metal. 2 large and very intense fireballs spawned next to each needle as they converged and heated the rods until they were glowing red hot, making the air sizzle from their heat.
Next thing she knew was that she was desperately rotated her main and secondary guns as the AA didn't have enough range to fire. But she couldn't get her guns bearing as the 4 rods cut through the air with a roar as they were propelled forward at unimaginable speeds, she could only brace herself for what was to come.
*Shink*
All four rods cut through her armour like butter before a resounding boom sounded within her followed by 3 more explosions. Her hull groaned in ways she thought was not possible as she felt a spike of pain rupture from her very core.
It was like she drank lava and it was burning her from the inside. The pain clouded her mind as her instincts kicked in loaded the main guns and secondary guns with a special retribution before firing at the last known position. For all the pain and misery that attacked caused her, 15 bright spots appeared in that area before 5 giant mushroom clouds appeared.
It was said that after this slaughter, the goblins that did survive were so infected with radiation that their species as a whole regressed into normal modern day goblins after thousands of years. Historians would never find out why goblins would run away from bright light as it seemed the nukes engraved their DNA with a thought of bright light = death!
Her ship continued on as the pain slowing dimmed into a dull throb that make her wince every time she had to turn. The most likely place she suspected she was penetrated was her citadel, which would explain why she felt such intense pain.
Even though she was dealt a devastating blow by the enemy she was the Yamato for a reason. She had a large HP pool that even made Iowa jealous but apart from that she had excellent damage control which lessened the blow a bit.
Now all she had to do was to wait for her contracted demon to appear and make all the pain go away. As her ship continued on its intended destination she tried thinking about the much that had happened when she got to that universe.
First she was killed by some terrorists who blew up the ship, then she just so happened to appear in another world with no recollection of what happened when she was a spirit. After that she started exploring but got attacked on two occasions after that she met the demon which was weird.
The first which people think would appear first would be an angel but the demon appeared first. Well if she put her mind to work most monsters would go to hell as they are part of the evil forces in this heaven v hell thing, so it was only natural that the demon would notice high rank souls appear one after another which would lead her to investigate and find the monster from another world.
With that thought she continued on with a her with four brand knew protrusions sticking out from her right side which made it ever more embarrassing as she thought that she looked like one of those reed pipe those Irelanders use from some angle.
But in all that time she was left wondering
'Where the hell is that stupid demon!?'
POV change
Let's change from the surface world and go into the earth surface, deeper and deeper. Until we pass most of the earth's layers and we arrive at the core of the earth. Many people believe that at the centre of the earth is a giant solid ball made of iron and something else.
But in this world, the core isn't made up of iron but it is made of pure mana of which circulates into and out of the mana pool. It is here where hell resides and if we take a deep scan we realise that its separated into levels that go down to unknown numbers, some think that it is infinite but others say that they haven't reached the end, even the demon kings of that hell don't know how deep it goes.
In the 5th level we could detect the familiar presence of our demon as it seemed that she was busy handling an armoured centipede with a flaming body.
With a sigh she pointed her sword at the centipede as she felt her magic power being nearly depleted. The centipede still had its mana and summoned a large condensed ball of flames in its mouth. The demon readied her sword to block the attack until she felt her mana go up a point before rapidly being replenished.
A smile draped her face as she couldn't pick a better time for her partner to kill monsters even though they were very low quality.
A mix of red and black flames erupted on her sword as she used her hell fire to its max using up the mana that's being constantly replenished. She leaned forward as her feet left cracks on the ground because of the build-up of mana before jumping with enough force to make a small crater.
Her demon wings gave her another burst of speed as she swung her sword across the centipedes face. But the centipede wasn't dump as it used its summoned flames to create a barrier around its head.
Her demon sword smashed into the walls as the centipedes fire and her hell fire tried to consume each as they both poured more mana into their attacks. The one thing that she knew was that hell fire easily trumped normal fire. Her blade cut through the wall fire like butter until it collide with the centipedes armoured face. Her hell fire melted its armour as it slashed through with some difficulty until she slashed through on its eyes.
The centipede let out a roar of pain until it turned it body so fast that she didn't even have time to block the tail swing that sent her into a nearby wall embedding her within it.
For something as light as a centipede it did pack a real swing. The demon coughed out some blood before removing herself from her crater. That last attack really did a number on her and her mana was almost in the reserve. She felt like retreating but changed her mind as she raised her sword ready for the final clash that would decide everything.
She inhaled and exhaled as she felt her mana spring back immediately to half. Somehow she managed to kill even more monsters. With a small smile she exhaled as she closed her eyes before activating her hell fire flames that burned a bright red but a shift in her appearance was happening as her eyes were beginning to glow red as a red aura surrounded her.
A pair of medium curved horns sprouted from her forehead as she entered into her serious mode, or more commonly referred to as greater demonifcation.
Her flames were now largely glowing black with some red accents as she glared at the centipede which lit its entire body with its orange flames
The ground shook as she poured her magic power into her sword making it turn into a large wavy flame until she compressed the fire while adding more magic at the same time. The result was a compressed fire that was slightly bigger than her sword.
The amount of mana within the sword roared to be let out as it cracked the ground beneath considerably.
"Be gone, pest" with those few words she raked her sword across the air letting her fire erupt into one big black crescent of flames that had a red outline.
The hell fire slammed into the crawler even as it tried to focus its mana in one point, her hell fire still cut through like butter until it sliced the centipede in half making it body topple in different directions as it was truly dead.
With the battle over she dismissed her form only to fall to her knees as the fatigue settled in, she had to use her sword for support so that she could more or less be upright.
"I'm almost there, just a little while longer and I'll have all the cores I need to make them kneel before me."
With her suspicious sentence she passed out on the floor as she close to achieving her goal and her revenge.
POV Change
Betrayed.
That's what she felt like.
She slayed a large goblin hoard and she expected her to appeared and give her, her rewards, but no she wasn't special and the contract didn't seem to mean anything to her, as it seemed that she was either too busy or ignoring her either of them could be true.
Currently she was sailing into the large forest with trees that grow in upwards of 500 meters and leaves that were big or bigger than her turrets. How they got to grow that big, she still had no clue as it was the case with everything being the super version of what she knew, even plants.
As her hull continued through the spacious gaps in the forest she wondered how the eco systems of these planets actually work as it seemed like a challenge to feed something that was bigger than her.
In the dimming lights she could see some weird tracks left in the soil. She couldn't see very well and thus had to use the search lights on her ship but then came the problem of figuring out how to use them.
'Let there be light!'
Nothing. Sometimes she wondered if her body acted separately from her mind as the commands she gives mostly don't work. She racked her brain for a solution until she decided to look in the direction of the weird tracks and think about illuminating them.
The result was a high powered light being cast in the direction she was looking at. From the light she noticed those same tank tracks that she saw before though it looked as if it were fighting something as the sometimes the tracks veered into a 90 degree turn before returning abruptly. She followed the tracks until she came to some splotches of red that continued for a while before it came to an abrupt end of a giant red splotch on the ground and seeing as how the tracks moved over it, it seemed that whatever monster the tank was fighting was given a cruel slow painful death.
The scene that played in her head made her want to puke something out but nothing did come out.
'May the monsters soul who died this horrible death, Rest In Peace'
Silence sounded throughout the forest for a little while before the normal jungle noise returned.
For her, being crushed to death was something she did experience but that was at the bottom of the ocean where the pressure killed her instantly but in this case the monster was given a slow painful death. In terms of whether or not she could do that was highly unlikely as in most cases she would just ram the enemy as it was traditional for a battleship to do so.
She continued pushing on through the forest until she decided to test another thing. Whether or not she can give commands to her planes.
Out of the bowels of her hangar she pulled out 2 planes that were retrofitted with landing gears somehow. She launched each of the planes one after another when she reached a clearing.
In the air the forest cover was so dense it was like a grassland from up there. When she lined up the two planes she took control of the lead planes and turned a bit to see if the other plane would follow or not, but it just maintained its position and altitude not caring about or what her plane is doing.
This irritated her but it was planned, next she decided to force her will on the plane and commanded it to follow. The reaction was almost instant as when she turned away the plane turned towards her at her left side making sure to keep the close formation.
Seeing how close they were she commanded it to make a loose formation and the plane immediately dropped its speed and started hanging behind her at a reasonable distance. This all but confirmed that that she can control her other planes and most probably her ship by just giving it commands.
She knew the relative position of her ship and decided to order the other plane to scout the left area from her ship if there were any dangers and it would only return when it is on low fuel. She let the plane fly past her as she turned towards the right side area from her ship before switching back to her ship and telling that plane the same thing but to scout the right side.
With her early warning system set in place she decided to continue forward as she pondered on what to upgrade when she gets a gift.
Minutes turn into hours making it almost time for the planes to return but suddenly she felt a surge of danger coming from her left area spotter. She could feel the enemy target but it was moving fast.
Her main guns swivelled around to deliver a blow but before she fire she lost all contact with her spotter. Fearing the worst she fired a salvo at the last known position before ordering the right spotter to go to the left area.
A few seconds later the flash of her explosions illuminated the area as a small fire was starting. She could hear her spotter fly ahead as she prepared for contact with the monster. Some few seconds later she regained contact with the monster but her reloading was already done letting her fire a salvo at the monster before again losing contact with her second spotter.
However, when the light of the explosion reached her so did the sound of a wounded monster reach her. This made her feel sort of happy as pay back for her two spotters.
After that the forest settled into an nerve racking silence that unsettled her deeply. Just in case, she swivelled 2 of her main guns to the left and 1 main 2 secondary's to the right just in case the monster comes at a different angle.
Her search lights beamed bright arcs of light into the darkness as she patiently waited for the attacker to come. While waiting her radar would sometimes ping something through the darkness but it was as if it was circling her almost observing her movements.
The silence was killing her as she slowly rotated her canons, it was as if she was in a horror game. her radar was all but silent implying its unreliability as a simple radar.
With nothing but her eyes for searching she uses her multiple field of view to get a near perfect 360 view point, but something wasn't sitting well with her as her sonar was picking up minor vibrations that were becoming louder and louder. The fact she couldn't see the actual monster but she could hear it slowly approach her sent her adrenaline levels through the roof.
The vibrations kept on getting louder and louder until she heard a branch rustle to the right side of her, this was all that she needed to act.
Both of her secondary's fired into where she heard the sound as her main guns rotated around to bring the full brunt of her attack power but they hit nothing but hard soil which meant that she had been duped.
A loud roar made the air vibrate and the ground shake as the monster sprinted from its hiding spot to the left only to be illuminated by her search lights as it smashed into her side. The force of the impact made her tilt so much that 2 of her left propellers could be seen poking out of the ground before the ship returned back to its position.
With the monster so close she could easily make it out and notice that it looks like a spitting image of its counterpart in Jurassic world.
No I'm not talking about the T-rex or the Spino. What I'm talking about is the meaner more brutal hybrid of the name Indominous rex or more commonly known as the Indo-rex. But with everything in that world the indo was actually 5 times bigger than its movie counterpart and it seemed that it had a few more attributes as the scales on its body looked more hardened and honestly looked like could comfortably resists a mosasouraus unlike last time.
Her AA pounded at the indo like a machine gun, but they hopelessly bounced off of the thick scales as her guns swivelled around to get a target lock. She purposefully aimed for the eyes which made the rex stagger back as it shielded them with its arms giving her enough time to get her main guns and secondary's into the action.
The rex charged forward blindly but was given a knock back of the century as 9 HE shells exploded on its skin, the impact of the force sent it flying backwards but it didn't surfer any penetration but it did receive some internal bleeding from the pressure wave.
The indo retreated back into the tree line as she loaded AP rounds into her main guns just to see if the indo's skin really was that hard.
Silence once again hung in the air as she realised that indo must be using its stealth ability to keep out of sight of visual and radar contact, like an evolved version of a chameleon.
She knew it was playing a hit and run strategy which was good for it but not for her. At random intervals she sprayed AA shells into different clearings she passed but it seemed that the indo had left her alone after a few tense minutes passed.
That was the case until she heard the creaking of a tree branch. Looking up, she searched the branches until she found one peculiar one she focused all of her searchlights on it as she sees some distortions in the air colour from the tree colour.
One of her secondary's fired a testing shot and this was all it took for the indo to jump from its hiding spot. With all its weight and gravity on its side the indo slashed downward and destroyed her funnel, her aft fire control system and back secondary turret.
The beast tore into the AA placements on the left side, resulting in numerous tiny explosions as well as a fire that brook out on her left side. However, she retaliated by firing her turret 3 into the side of the indo. The AP shells dug into the scales because at close range even the most toughest armour becomes butter.
The explosion pushed the indo off of her deck which gave her forward turrets a line of fire that resulted into 6 more AP slamming into its body with one landed close to its eye temporarily blinding it.
Under the renewed attack, the indo was beginning to loss its health as more and more shells slammed into its skin. This left its scales riddled with bloodied holes, holes within holes and the occasional fire from the HE shells spammed by the surviving AA.
Unknown to her, as she continued her aggressive subjugation of the gigantic dinosaur she just so happened to activate a common monster skill if you could say.
Later it is said that when monsters evolved they each gained a special trait to each species, for the Indo-rex an some other species they had a special trait that increase all their stats by a random factor. This is a great final attack that would make it an ultimate last ditch chance.
A red glow appeared around the body of the rex as a deep rumble sounded before it released a massive roar that created a large pressure waves.
Small AA shells were deflected backwards as the other larger shells were slowed down. Any hit made simply bounced off of its regenerated scales that were now black in colour.
Haruka could only look with immense dread as the Indo's special skill
[Rampage]
Was in full swing. When the indo emerged from the red mist of mana, its body was slightly larger at a height of 150 meters from 100. but what it lacked in height was dully compensated as its muscles were bulging across its arms and legs, its claws shined with a weird metallic colour as they soaked the light from her search lights. Its skin was still white but its scales were black make it slightly look like mass of obsidian. Its crimson red eyes tunnelled at her ship with such rage that she would probably melt.
The monster let out one more enormous roar before sprinting at full charge at the metal beast.
Ka-Boom!
Ka-Boom!
Ka-Boom!
All three of her main guns roared as well sending 9 18 inches of AP into the indo's body alone for a horrifying sound to echo throughout the forest.
Ding!
Her shells deflected. A flashback of the crab monster formed within her mind as the rex was upon her, before she knew it its claws were cutting through her like butter her main bridge was sliced in half. All of her remaining weapons let loose as she tried to get some free space.
The shells instead of pushing back the rex did the opposite, the rex used that opportunity to swing to the right side of the ship.
In doing so its legs slammed into two of the iron rods stuck within her and the combined weight of the rex was enough to get them moving. A loud screech could be heard within her citadel as 2 rods moved upwards cutting through the inner armour before emerging onto the deck.
The pain she felt before was reignited but much worse as she gutted from the inside out, this made her hull groan in many ways that didn't go unnoticed by the rex as its jaws tore through the separated metal into the inner workings of the ship.
A black trail of oil could be seen as her fuel lines were severed and precious fuel was be leaked. To her the feeling of being torn apart and slowly losing conscious because of the fuel leak drove her to fire nukes from the remaining secondary.
The nuclear explosion was enough to send the rex backwards making it tumble into the ground hard as it regained its balance. Due to being in such close proximity to the nuclear blast, most if not all of her superstructure was gone leaving only her main and secondary guns.
With a pain filled mind she resorted to an all-out nuclear attack as all guns loaded type 99 shells. The rex roared once last time before charging in for the killing blow, similarly she responded by firing all her guns.
The explosion that followed rocked her ship so much that most of her boilers had stopped working reducing her speed to a mere crawl as she struggled to keep her heart from going out. Her determination pushed her foreword even as her ship begun tearing itself as the crack from the citadel to deck was opening further and further.
However a loud roar froze her in place as out of the nuclear blast was a flaming rex with its muscles and everything else bulging with power.
'No way, that was a nuke. How?! How can you survive a nuke unscathed?!
The rex really had no marks from the explosion which most probably defied most explosion mechanics. Now she was racing against time to reload her guns but rex there wouldn't let her as in one sprint it was already upon her its jaw ripping out turret 3 like it was weak welding.
Crushing the turret in its mouth made some tiny explosions occur due to oil and fuel before its arms raked apart the front secondary turret before it could fire leading to it being chomped by the rex but this turret was already loaded so when it bit down it caused the three nukes to explode within its mouth and this isn't something easily defended as we all saw that a monster may have a strong armour but its insides are still mushy.
With a pain roar the rex fell from her deck dead as its blood, stained the already oil stained ground. More and more of her fuel was being lost by the second and she had no crew to fix it nor any way to shut down those lines. She lay there for who knows how long as she was successfully split into two parts as she mistakenly left her engine on now she was but two chunks with her heart all but silent and her mind full of pain and anger.
When it was close to day break was when the corpse erupted into black flames but she was too weak to lift any barrel at all as she had no energy left to do anything but listen as the world around her was ever becoming numb.
When the demon finally arrived on the battlefield it seemed that she didn't noticed the state she was in.
"Sorry for being late, some monsters were keeping me up until now. So let's get to the point what kind of gift do you want….?"
The demon looked at the silent warship with confusion as it could definitely feel the life force of the ship there but for some reason it wasn't talking.
"Hello, is anything wrong?" the demon slowly hovered to the side of the ship, "did I do something? Or was it because I didn't give you a gift for the goblin massacre or ...!?"
When she noticed how the ship was split into two, she immediately did a double take as the full extent of the battle was on show for her and the world to see.
"Why didn't you tell me you were this injured!? I would have healed you if you told me!"
She moved in front of an intact turret and started to shout at it but still no response.
"Humph, if that's the way you're going to ignore me then I guess I'll take my leave now."
The demon moved away from the ship as she was fully prepared to return to the demon realm but a loud sound of screeching metal could be heard.
Turret 1 moved ever so slowly as all the fluid was removed now she was just using her pure mental strength to move it.
"No, No, No ,No! stop that your hurting yourself! Can't you see!"
Even after she told her to stop she continued until her barrels were pointing at where she was currently floating. With her thoughts mulled by the constant pain she could only form 6 words.
'I… I don't want to die'
"Hmm? Nobody said you'd die… ? Wait why is your soul consumed by pain, anger and grief?"
Though it was a genuine question Haruka didn't have much energy left as her barrels slump towards the deck her senses numbing, almost like she's given up on this world.
The demon sighed before letting herself gracefully landing on her tattered deck right in front of her turret 1, even crouching before lifting her hand to touch the barrel.
"Whoever said that you'd die? Even I have faced foes more powerful than me yet I still emerged victorious after a hard fought battle with me almost dying." she paused seeing how Haruka was increasingly becoming more distant, this made her change up her tactic.
"HARUKA! Why do you easily bow down at deaths door. Do you really want to return to void and never come back or do you want to survive. You may have been brought here without your consent but in the short time you were here you stood up against foes that were bigger and more powerful than you were, yet you used your own power to slay your foes and push on."
A slight response could be seen as the barrel lifted slightly.
"That's why I still ask you are you going to end your life here or are you going to rise up and have the strength to protect yourself. Will you let fate kill you to rectify this world or will you defy fate and become a part of this worlds history!"
Haruka felt like she was in quick sand, but inch by inch she crawled out of that quicksand. Why was she being so down by almost being beaten by a dinosaur. It felt like she struggling to free herself but she was doing it, the words by the demon helped her mental fight her way through all the negative emotions.
'I can't die, I won't die not until I become the strongest of this world. Not until I defy fate and curve my own path different from those set by others. Be it god, fate or anything else, the only thing that control me is only me myself not other people and their schemes.'
Back outside the barrel was now at level to the of the demon when she standing.
'I don't want …. I don't want to only protect myself but you as well. You're as involved in this contract like me. When you need me I will help you!'
The words spoken by Haruka struck a chord within the demon as she stared at Haruka in surprise before a smile graced her face.
She giggled a bit before speaking up, "If you want to protect me, you need to have the strength to do that and currently you're lacking in that area."
Putting her mind to it, she replayed the fight in her head and the only downside is that her AA placements were useless and only irritated the monsters thus to get stronger she needed something with more power something modern, something that would change every battle from there on and she knew the perfect on to get.
"You're ready?" she asked as she sliced her palm letting a drop of blood land on the deck of the broken battleship.
A large black fire with red accents enveloped her entire body as she was slowly stitched together and made anew. When the fire dissipated we got a new look at the new and improved Haruka.
The major difference is that all of her AA placements were replaced by 8 204 mm or 8 inch Phoenix chain guns 4 on either side.
"Also, your form had changed to one your previous versions but you equipment should still be the same."
What she was talking about was the addition 2 155mm secondary's on either side which added to the destruction she could make.
[Mark 50: Phoenix Class Chain guns] (not real, purely made up)
[This is a gun design that only made it to the blue print.]
It consisted of 3 barrels joined to a rotating disc similar to the CIWIC defence systems.
This enlarged version of the CIWIS could dish out 50-70 rounds per minute.
With it being a modern canon it featured an ultra-fast loading system as well as an in built optical, laser, thermal as well as radar guidance.
These guns were mainly preferred to their ability to dish out massive amounts of punishments but
One drawback is that the gun required special ammunition that couldn't be altered course from the pressure waves
Of a nearby explosions or their own shells.
Whether it is actually good or not will be found out.]
She felt a surge of power within her emanate from those guns as she closely studied their looks. She pondered on the many benefits this would give her and the fear it will give her enemies.
With her body fully reformed and the demon long gone, she went back to the course of that mountain as she could faintly pick up what seemed to be howl coming from said mountain.
I'm finished yes and what's the word count ….
Ehh?
10k, well that was higher than I expected but it was still within reasonable levels.
