Chapter 22: Chapter 0022: Chidori
Chapter 0022: Chidori
Bang, bang, bang.
The sound of heavy bodies hitting the ground echoed continuously.
In an instant, the only one left standing in the entire area was me—Hiroto.
If anyone had witnessed this scene, they would be bewildered, shocked even. Five fully-fledged ninja, all bearing the headbands of the Uchiha clan, defeated without even putting up a fight. They had been wiped out by a mere academy graduate—no, more like instantly crushed!
However, I didn't feel the slightest bit of satisfaction. Instead, I frowned slightly. "Is this really the level of a full-fledged ninja? They aren't even on Asuma's level. If I had known, I wouldn't have used so much force. What a hassle."
If Sarutobi Asuma had heard me say that, he might have wanted to punch me. After all, Asuma was considered one of the top students at the academy. Even if he couldn't compare to me, someone as abnormal as I am, he could at least defeat regular genin without much trouble.
"Hey, wake up." I crouched down in front of the boy named Uchiha Nanakawa and lightly slapped his face.
"Ugh…"
Nanakawa's eyes fluttered open as he groggily shook his head, still dazed. Then, all at once, his eyes widened in shock. "You? Where are Yuta and the others?"
Yuta?
I was momentarily confused before I realized what he meant. "Oh, you mean your companions? They're over there."
Gasp.
Following the direction of my finger, Uchiha Nanakawa took in the sight and inhaled sharply. Impossible! How could this be? They were... all down?!
If he had been beaten due to underestimating his opponent, that would have been understandable. But Yuta and the others had witnessed my strength firsthand. How could they not have taken the fight seriously?
And yet, even so, they had all fallen. As much as Nanakawa didn't want to admit it, he had to face reality—this was purely a difference in strength.
The boy in front of him wasn't the clingy loser who hung around Miss Yui asking for her guidance. He was a true genius!
However much of a genius he might be, there's no way he could surpass my brother!
Thinking this, Uchiha Nanakawa steadied his mind and looked at me, asking, "What do you want?"
"Can't you understand plain words?" I said, pulling at the corners of my mouth. "I already told you earlier—I want you to pass a message to your brother."
"What message?"
"Hmm, tell him this: How dare you lay your eyes on my girl? Are you tired of living?"
"You... you…" Nanakawa's expression froze, staring at me in disbelief. It wasn't just the content of my words that shocked him, but how I had gone from calm and composed to this sudden harshness.
"What, is there a problem?" I asked coldly, glaring at him.
Of course, that coldness was just on the surface. Inside, I was already drowning in embarrassment. There was no way I could face a certain black-haired, long-haired senior after saying something like this.
After the initial shock, Nanakawa's face turned red with anger. He shouted, "Do you even know what you're saying? Do you know who my brother is?"
"I don't know, and I don't care." I threw his own words back at him. "All you need to do is answer whether you'll deliver the message or not."
"If you've got guts, kill me!" Nanakawa shouted, his tone still defiant. "Then the entire Uchiha clan will come after you!"
"Heh, do you think I'm afraid?" I scoffed. Inwardly, though, I was cursing him for being such a stubborn fool. Wouldn't it be easier just to deliver the message? But fine—looks like I'll have to show him something real to get him to back down.
Before he could respond, my hands were already moving through a series of hand seals, the speed of which made Nanakawa's eyes blur. Moments later, the sound of thousands of chirping birds filled the air, as if countless sparrows were suddenly screeching above us.
The sound came from my right hand.
Nanakawa's terrified gaze locked onto my palm, where a ball of lightning flickered and crackled. The blue electrical arcs danced around, and the glow cast deep shadows on my face, giving my expression a menacing edge.
Chidori!
Yes, this was the very same Chidori from the original story, the technique Kakashi had taught to Sasuke.
Thanks to mastering the lightning element chakra transformation and combining it with the theories I'd gleaned from the original work, along with my own terrifying learning speed, I had managed to perfect this technique ahead of time.
Kakashi's one original jutsu had been shamelessly copied. If Hatake Kakashi ever found out, he might just cry in the bathroom.
Boom!
In the next instant, I drove the lightning ball into the ground. The earth trembled violently, and a bottomless crater formed right before Nanakawa's eyes.
"So, what do you think would happen if I hit you with this?" I asked, turning my face away and asking in a cold, sinister tone.
Nanakawa's pupils contracted sharply, and his body began to tremble uncontrollably. After about a quarter of a second's hesitation, he decisively agreed to deliver the message.
After all, he was still just a kid. No matter how tough he acted, in the face of a real life-or-death decision, all that bravado fell apart.
"If you were going to agree in the end, you could've just done so happily from the start. Why make things so difficult?" I sighed as I watched his figure disappear into the distance.
"Because he has to maintain that ridiculous facade of dignity," a cool voice suddenly answered, solving the mystery.
"S-senpai?" My entire body stiffened as I slowly, awkwardly turned my head.
Author's Note: Hey guys, I was supposed to release 5 chapters today, but realised it's a bit impractical... too much work. So, I will release 2 chapters from tomorrow for 5 days, and that should do it.
