LIGHTNOVELSTORY Chapter 161: Chapter 160
After the group arrived at the venue, they were greeted by the sight of the corpses lined up and lying face up with each of them covered in white cloth.
Staff from the committee held a clipboard while writing notes and talking to someone crying over a corpse and the staff likely asked the name of the dead. Some of the members of the committee are carrying the injured people on a stretcher and some of them are not even injured as they are already dead. Staff tallying the death toll and injured people are also can be seen here.
That's not all, Ambulances are there too parked orderly while the siren lights are blaring. Some police cars with police officers in them talking to the radio to report what happened here.
"Those people are the worst," The sweet Honoka said with a teary-eyed voice as this was the first time she had seen so many dead people.
"What could be their reason to attack gruesomely at this peaceful event?" Shizuku asked while patting the shoulder of her friend Honoka to comfort the latter.
"Greed and Revenge...."Oreki said "but mostly about me" He added with shrugged.
"You...?" Erika questioned.
"Yep, Me and I" Oreki replied with a smug expression.
"How so?" Leo asked with curiosity and it seemed he was ready to jump at Oreki if he answered wrong.
However, Oreki did not answer yet and he asked the nearby staff member about the location of the Old Kudou. The staff answered that he was having a meeting with other higher-ups but not as high as Retsu. Oreki asked where is it and The staff pointed at the lone blue tent in the area where all the stuff was happening.
"Of course, it's the obvious one," Oreki said while rolling his eyes. He tunr to face the staff "Thanks" He said gratefully as he started walking towards the Blue tent. The others also thank the staff which the latter appreciate.
"Back to the question of Muscle head here," Oreki said. The DxD group chuckled at that. Akeno and Rias are walking side by side while locking each of Oreki's arms with theirs.
"My name is Leo, Yotsuba-san," He said.
"See, you just answered your own question on why me" Oreki said while looking back in style with a head tilt.
Except for Miyuki and her Onii-sama, the group frowns upon hearing that answer from Oreki. However, some of them caught on soon on what he meant.
"You mean because your surname is Yotsuba?" Mizuki asked,
"Oh, I give you one better" Erika said with a smirk "You're not just a Yotsuba, you're the heir to the Yotsuba" She added feeling smug.
They nodded in agreement because of what they observed and heard Oreki can use MI magic to its maximum potential.
DxD group chuckles at that making Erika question Oreki and his group what's so funny about it.
"You and everybody else really love calling me a Yotsuba" Oreki said not doing any more head tilts. "But in reality, I'm not even related to them with blood. So in the end I'm just a regular guy" He added.
Erika and the group didn't believe any of the bullshit that Oreki spouted because even if he's not related to Yotsuba Clan, he can't be just a regular guy.
"You mean just a guy with too much power right?" Valerie said. "You may not relate to them by blood but you're going to be family soon because of that Hag and Milf." Yoruichi corrected.
Tatsuya and Miyuki just got goosebumps hearing what Yoruichi said and wondered if Oreki was really going to be their Stepfather soon.
"Let's not talk about that anymore," Oreki said. "Hey! Tatsuya" He did a famous head tilt again.
Tatsuya stared at Oreki waiting for him to say something after the latter called his name.
"Burn to your memory what you saw when I killed Souryuu because that's the secret to unlimited energy which means that can help you with your little research" Oreki explained.
Tatsuya then closed his eyes while thinking that Oreki knew about his future project or plan as well. However, he does not think it's harmful for Oreki to know because it seems he too wants the magician to be free of being a weapon only. He then opened his eyes before bowing his head to Oreki. The latter just smiled before he started talking idly to his girls.
The First High Group looked at Tatsuya waiting for his explanation. However, he just said that he'll tell them later after this shit show. The group nodded in agreement and besides it was not like they were privy to Tatsuya's affair. It will be up to Tatsuya to say it to them if he wants to tell them or not and Tatsuya chooses the former which they are happy for his trust.
After walking for a while they stop by a green tent filled with people with varying degrees of injury, ranging from burns on their skin, broken and missing limbs, and bleeding ears. Doctors and Nurses from the nearby hospitals are tending to these patients with the best of what they have. There are also policies for doing interviews with the patients but the nurses urge these fellows to leave and let the injured people rest first before doing their job.
"The culprits have to pay for what they did. Damn it if only I have my Odachi here, I could have sliced them up nicely" The always emotional Erika said.
"I'm really itching to punch and punchable face right now," Leo said while cracking his knuckles. He wasn't able to do against Souryuu so wanted to vent on something normal.
"I understand both of your feelings right now but let's leave the revenge game for the Magic Association because they might be feeling humiliated now that this happened under their noses," Mihikiho said as tried to calm down the hot-headed duo. Mizuki nodded in agreement to her crush but she does realize that yet.
"Mikihiko is right," Tatsuya said "I'm sure the Chairman is planning on the next move for the Magic Association by now" He added. They then moved towards the DxD group which was a bit ahead of them and waiting like an NPC to game.
Oreki then smiled at them "Don't worry too much about the dead and the injured" He then started walking again but stopped after hearing Erika's question.
"What are you gonna do? Revive like nothing happened!"
He looks back at Erika and just smirks before walking again. The DxD followed while smiling at her too.
The First High group was surprised at the confidence except for Shiba's siblings and surprisingly Shizuku too, It seems she accepted already that this guy could pretty much do anything he wanted if he put his mind to it.
"Are you serious but how!" Erika shouted
"Just wait and see," Oreki replied.

Inside the Blue Tenth.
A long table in the middle of the tenth with chairs as well as people sitting on it.
"Chairman we need to retaliate against the Traditionalist for attacking the 9SC" One of them looks at Chairman Retsu sitting on the head of the seat.
"They didn't even think about that by killing the young magicians they would hinder the development of Japan in the future"
"They must be conspiring with the Great Asian Union to weaken Japan because if not they would have just attacked the Kudou family if they want to. No offense, Chairman."
Retsu chuckled and just gave a gesture that he didn't get offended. "Don't worry about the Traditionalist or the enemies in that matter. We already have a plan in motion" He said while saying to his mind that the plan is to make Oreki do it himself as he promised.
"As expected of Chairman but the victim's relatives will still demand something from us for letting this happen under our noses"
"I, too already have a response for that later after everything calms down" Retsu replied.
"Does the Yotsuba Clan Head have an opinion about this?"
Miya and Maya were sitting on the corner of the tent minding their own business and relaxing in this tense atmosphere while also drinking tea made by Minami. When they heard that question they did not even bother looking up. "Don't ask us because first of all, we are not a member of the committee or Magic Association" Maya said turning the page of the book "And second of all we're just here to observe our former Sensei on how he handles this kind of thing" She added.
They just ignored Maya's condescending answer because they didn't want to disappear from the face of Earth. However, didn't get the memo because he thought that Retsu would back him up even if he fucked up but luckily for him, Maya does not have a young master mindset or in this case young mistress.
"I'm asking you as the leader of one of the Ten Master Clans"
Maya closed her eyes before looking up at the shameless person "Then as Leader of the Yotsuba Clan, I'm asking you too that you should shut up" She said with venom "Besides, did you not hear what the Old Kudou said? Let me tell you again in case you didn't. He said he already already had a plan! do you not trust your Chairman?" She added before returning to the book that she was reading.
The one asking the question shuts up after explaining to Retsu that he is just asking a question for the sake of asking it. He wanted to explain more but Retsu stop him as Retsu wanted to return to the topic at hand even though there was nothing to talk about because everything would be fine in the end.
The underlings of Retsu were about to start the discussion again when suddenly the tent door opened. They all turn to the rude fellow who enters the tent without permission. They were going to reprimand them but they got interrupted.
