Chapter 5: ALPHA ZENITH
Dawn wanted Emily to stop blabbering nonsense. She didn't understand what she was trying to say to her. Every word that came out of her mouth was pure rubbish. She hated every time she talked about Blake as if she had known him for so long.
Emily kept bragging the fact that Blake already agreed to mate with her which made Dawn want to scream for her to scram from there.
"Oh, have I told you how I spent the night with him? He was very gentle. Don't believe him when he said he didn't enjoy it. Of course, he enjoyed it a lot." Emily then touched her stomach suggestively. "Or else, how did you think I would be able to carry our love child in my womb?"
Dawn closed her eyes, she wished she could be anywhere, but near Emily and her mother.
"You are not holding a grudge against me, are you?" Emily asked in her sickeningly sweet voice. "After all, we are sisters. We need to stick together. Even though I will not be able to visit you often, since you will move all the way to the north, my prayers will always be with you." She chuckled like a joker.
Dawn couldn't understand what kind of nonsense this girl was trying to spew. Her head was so heavy and she couldn't breathe properly.
Thankfully, her father came into her room and found Emily was there, but like an expert, she changed her vicious smile into an innocent one, as she tried to gain sympathy from him.
"What are you doing here, Emily?" Alpha Tony asked sternly, he had told her not to bother Dawn, nor was she allowed to come closer to her, knowing how much pain she and Blake had caused to his daughter, not to mention their relationship had never been good to begin with. She must be the last person that his daughter wanted to see, which was true.
"I am sorry, father, but I only want to check on her condition, I am very worried. I feel very guilty and horrible for what I have done to her," Emily said with a trembling voice, as tears streamed down her cheeks.
Meanwhile, Dawn really wanted to claw her fake face, how could she play with someone else so easily like that?
Tired, Dawn closed her eyes and tuned out their argument. She felt a little bit nice when she heard her father reprimanding Emily before he told her not to come to her bedroom again, but still, it didn't offset the way her father had mistreated her all these years.
She would never forgive him so easily and maybe when she learned what was waiting for her the moment her health finally picked up, she would never forgive him completely…
It took another two days for Dawn to finally be able to leave her bed and have enough strength to feel her surroundings again.
"Are you okay, my dear?" Tony was by her side when he heard she was awake and started to eat normally, but what he witnessed was only a shell of herself. His own daughter stared at him with so much hatred in her eyes.
"Stay away from me, father," Dawn said in a deep and callous tone, she stood up from her bed and went to the bathroom to clean herself up. The pain from the severed bond had subsided significantly, which allowed her to be able to have enough strength to move around, since she didn't need to endure such agony again.
Yet, even after Dawn clearly told her father she didn't want him there, when she finished cleaning herself up, she still found the Alpha sitting in the same place. He looked a decade older now.
"Dawn, we need to talk, this is an urgent matter," Tony said grimly, he didn't dare to look his daughter in the eyes, so he lowered his head so low. It was very strange for an alpha to act this way, unless he had some unpleasant news for the only daughter he had. His own flesh and blood.
"Are you trying to explain to me the meaning of what Emily told me about the Alpha from the north?" After Emily came to her bedroom two days ago and Tony warned her to stay away from her, her father must be very naïve to think that evil woman would listen.
Not only Emily, even Julia came as well to mock her at her lowest point of her life and rubbed salt into her wounds by telling her how she deserved all the pain she had to endure and more.
"Are you going to give me to Alpha Zenith from the north? Will you send me off to their land in order to save this pack?" Dawn was still tired after battling so much pain, but her voice was firm and clear enough for Tony to hear how much hatred she had for him.
"Dawn, I mated with Julia because she has a daughter around your age. I can send her daughter to the north, instead of you. No matter what, you are still my flesh and blood, there is no way I will send you to the far land, to an alpha like Zenith. I can not do that to you."
"But, you treat Emily and Julia very well, ignoring me."
"I am sorry, if you think I ignored you. It is very hard for me to look at you because you resemble your mother so much. I still love your mother, Dawn, you must know that. Her death still pains me even after all this time."
"And yet, you do nothing when they talk bad about my mother!" Dawn growled angrily, what kind of bullshit her father was trying to feed her?
Right at that time, someone opened the door without even knocking first. Dawn hated this so much.
"Your beta said Alpha Zenith's entourage has been spotted, they will arrive within two hours. You need to prepare her to greet the Alpha," Julia said with a smirk on her face.
Dawn was not sure what her stepmother was talking about, it sounded like gibberish, but the fact her father became even more uncomfortable piqued her interest.
"What do you mean to prepare me?" Dawn narrowed her eyes viciously at the other woman.
And now, Julia proved time and time again how sickening she was when she acted all innocent. She clapped her hands and exclaimed.
"Tony, you have not yet told her about alpha Zenith?" Julia was beaming even though she could see how her mate looked in hard spot. "Dawn, you have been in your room for days, you must not aware of this, but your mate is on his way here. No. Actually, he is already here!"
"What mate?" Dawn narrowed her eyes. She looked at her father, asking for explanation.
