Shadow Slave FanFic [Missing Piece]

Knowledge is power, a power only those who have the courage to seek it will be able to wield. Why does seeking Knowledge need courage? It's simple really. Knowledge is a paradox, a terrifying one on top of that. Because the more you learn, the more you realize how much you don't know.

It's frustrating, in reality a scientist or a Professor have more questions to themselves than a Farmer or a Kid, despite having far more knowledge.

The same is happening to Sunny right now. Now that he knew that they had been telling the truth, he had countless questions, which he had more than enough time To think about while he was unable to sleep. Having nephis in his arms is more than a little exciting. His mind was trying to stay calm but his body betrayed him.

'I'm in so much trouble…I hope she doesn't wake up any second. Not before I bring this "Problem" under control.'

To his luck, Nephis seems like she is in no hurry to wake up, for now. Her face was relaxed with a small smile on her lips. Her breathing is calm and steady. Only her heart seems to be a little bit in a Rush. But so was Sunny's, meaning that their hearts followed the same rhythm. Beating as one while their Body's showed an overwhelming desire for one another.

Downstairs the situation was A little less tense but no less interesting though. Since Effie had come Back from her visit to Sunnys bedroom the Mood had made a 180° turn. Going from depressed and beaten to hilarious and relieved.

"I swear to the Dead gods, she was on his chest smiling like A damn fool while he was fast asleep. She told me that he pulled her onto the bed, but I doubt that an Unconscious man would be able to do that."

Effie said after gulping down her 4th beer. Everyone was laughing while enjoying Sunny's Liquor. Even Rain had started enjoying some of the Alcohol after Jet offered it to her.

"I wouldn't say that really. Sunny might have been acting from his heart and not from his mind. If that's the case then there is a real chance that she's telling the truth."

Cassie was right of course. After all she had seen it happening in one of her visions. Not really the most useful one but no less important to her. Rain on the other hand could still not believe that Sunny was back.

'That's what alcohol is for after all.'

She thought while listening to the others. She had gotten a thorough explanation of events leading up to now from Cassie. She would love to just run up the Stairs and fall into his arms too. But she was scared, scared of how her Brother would look at her. Without the love for her he had. Without even a Hint of Recognition. That, she isn't looking forward to.

"But even if he was the one who started it. She told me that she just had no desire to resist. I bet she was longing for something like this for years."

Again everyone broke out into Laughter, the situation was a bit weird considering Sunny has no idea who she even is.

"I'm interested in how he will act when he wakes up. From the looks of my arm he could very well pull a knife on her. Thinking she is there to lull him into a Mindex."

Jet said only half jokingly. They couldn't possibly know that Sunny was already awake, just not daring to move in an effort to not wake her up. For now he couldn't go downstairs to talk to them, at least not with his original body. His shadow on the other hand…

While they were still enjoying his alcohol and Cakes on top of that, the room suddenly dimmed, the Shadows grew deeper and the air much colder. Rain shivered wandering if someone had left the Door open for example. But when she looked back over her shoulder a man suddenly stood right behind her.

So quick that except for her Noone had realized it yet. Only when Kai wanted to ask her something did he flinch while dropping his Glass. Everyone looked up at the Man standing behind Rain with wide eyes. His hand rested on her shoulder while the other was holding a small black knife to her Throat.

His voice showed a hint of Confusion when he spoke.

"What are you doing here? I have been looking for you all over the two Realms."

Rain had the hope that Sunny meant her for a second, only that his Gaze was focused on her Shadow instead of her.

"Serpent, to me, NOW."

Everyone watched as a serpentine Shadow separated from Rain's and slid over to Sunny, coiling up his leg all the way up to his arm. Suddenly the shadow Manifested as a Serpentine Tattoo, which could only slightly be seen underneath the from Shadows Manifested Clothes.

Now his Gaze landed on her and like she had feared, there is no hint of recognition in his Onyx Eyes. His voice was completely devoid of Emotion as he spoke evenly.

"Who are you? And why was one of my Shadows attached to you? Have you Somehow stolen him from me?"

Rain was still in shock while she could feel her pulse hammering against the Black knife on her Neck. She began to tremble slightly when Finally a voice Called out for him.

"SUNNY STOP…THAT'S YOUR SISTER."

Effie shouted, hoping that it would pull him out of his killing intent. At that moment Sunny's eyes began to change. Something Deep inside of them Stirred before disappearing again. But not without leaving something in his heart behind. The spark stirred giving Sunny a hint of their relationship Before he lost his Memories.

He felt drawn to her for a second, like he must protect her before anything else. That he…he was the one she could always rely on when she needed someone. Instantly the knife dissolved into the Shadows again and he staggered back. He had to support himself on one of the Chairs while breathing a little heavy.

Noone dared to say anything, they feared that he would get another outbreak, but instead He calmed down a minute later. He sat down next to Rain not knowing how to act or what to say. So instead, he did the most natural thing first.

"I'm sorry, I just…when I noticed you had Serpent with you I kinda…lost it. I thought you had taken him from me or something. But if you're really my sister it makes sense why I left him with you."

His previous killing intent Was replaced with regret and shame. Rain shook her head in bewilderment and said.

"No it's…it's OK. To be honest I didn't even know he was in there. I'm just…glad that you are back… Brother."

"That's…that's a little weird to hear out of your mouth. But my life is nothing but weird At the moment so…I believe you."

Her eyes teared up a little while a smile spread across her lips. Finally She had her beloved Brother, Teacher and Friend back. For the moment it didn't matter if he remembered her or not. After the initial Heartwarming reunion a Spark of wonder Ignited in her head though.

"Wait…did you leave Nephis Upstairs? Alone in bed?"

Sunny flinched slightly and mumbled.

"How do you kn…"

But of course one look at Effie told him everything he had to know. With a sigh he palmed his face.

"No I did not. My Transformation ability is having Multiple Body's. My original body is still In bed with her."

"So you haven't pulled a knife on her after waking up?"

Jet asked with a Chuckle. To her surprise Sunny actually laughed too.

"No I have not, because I realized something while I was Unconscious. I realized that you all had been telling the truth. My memories are still shrouded in Mist while some of the gaps are still Completely gone. I… I can't explain how but I feel like I can trust you. Even if my mind is telling me something else."

There was silence for a second before everyone Broke out in excitement. Finally they had made progress with him. In 3 years there has not been any better news.

"It's exactly like you told us Cassie. Now we just need to find out the reason for his Memory loss and then we can Finally Cure him."

Kai shouted full of joy. Everyone turned to Sunny expecting him to say something, but it was not what they had hoped for. Which they knew the moment his Smile dropped.

"I'm sorry, but I can't Tell you. I can't even tell you why I can't Tell you. Not that I don't know it…it's just. I will have to figure out a way on my own, for now at least."

After all he didn't Wanna live through the deadly Pain again he felt earlier when Effie and Kai forced some memories out of him he is Forbidden To remember. Maybe he would survive that pain a second time, but there is no Reason To test that Theory.

Everyone was a little downed by his answer. They hoped for more, of course, but for now it was more Important that he would trust them. Together they will make it through this tragedy too.

"Although I don't like that answer It can't be helped, I guess. We will work with you on that Issue as much as we can of course. I want you to know that you can count on us, Sunny. We will do everything in our power to make you whole again."

Cassie's words hit him hard, not in a bad way of course. He was relieved, astonishing by their determination in their eyes. But one of them had a different look on her face. One that he might have forgotten but somehow knew it meant trouble for him.

"OK so now that we cleared that up, are you ready to tell us what you and Nephis have been doing upstairs all that time?"

The grin on Effie's face was terrifying, so much in fact that he would have Shadow stepped away if he still had his Memories. But somehow the new Sunny didn't really care about it. In fact he couldn't care less if they knew or not. So he just shrugged and said evenly.

"Sleeping together."

Everyone's Jaws dropped, not in a Million years would they have thought to hear those words out of Sunny's mouth so Nonchalant. A moment later he noticed his mistake when he realized that their reaction might be a little too intense.

"I guess you are thinking of something else but no, we are literally just sleeping in each other's arms."

Everyone let out a relieved sigh.

"For now."

Sunny added with a smirk, already he felt like having done something he was known for when their Faces showed signs of defeat but also relief. A moment later Kai asked curious, a question that burned on everyone's mind.

"What do you think about Nephis…now that you found her in your arms?"

A simple question really. But in the Case of Sunny and Neph it was loaded with Dynamite…no, Nuclear Warheads couldn't represent the intensity of what this question meant to them. Sunny was deep in thought for a while before his Flaw made him form an Answer of Course.

"It's weird actually, I have no memories of her but when she appeared in my mind while I was Unconscious I felt…relieved, happy, safe even. For the past 3 years I always felt like I had lost something Precious. Something so important to me that it drove me crazy not even knowing what it was. But when I found her in my Arms I immediately knew that it wasn't "Something" that I lost but "Someone" instead. A person I can't live without and will always be Side by side with, no matter how much pain and hardship will come with that. As long as she is there…my life will be fine."

A long speech for a man that usually Shared close to nothing about himself and especially his feelings. So much in fact that Effie and Rain slapped themselves just for good measure. Maybe they were dreaming? But no, Sunny's words were real and genuine. Kai couldn't believe it when he listened. Not a single Lie or the confusing signals He got when the Extraordinary Rock was talking.

"Who Are you and what have you done with my Brother?"

Sunny scoffed and turned to Rain.

"What? Have I never told that to anyone? I feel like I had those feelings for far longer than just those 3 years. In fact, It must have started somewhere when I was just a Sleeper on the Forgotten Shore."

"Thay much we knew pretty much the entire time but when did you become such a… a Smooth Talker? I'm even a little flustered and I'm dead."

Jet was not the only one Of course. Effie and Cassie were no different. Kai and Rain on the other hand were just Glad that he had finally admitted it.

"Seems like there are some benefits to losing your Memories. I wish you two the best of Luck. I always did."

Kai gave Sunny a Thumbs up along with a big smile. Rain too was glad that her Brother finally had the Chance to live the Life he always Wanted but never had a Chance to have.

Effie stood up with a sigh and headed for the Pantry.

"I think I need another Beer…. Ah dammit, it's empty."

"TAKE A LOOK INTO THE FRIDGE. AIKO STORES SOME BEER THERE. SHE SAID IT TASTES BETTER WHEN IT'S COLD."

He shouted before noticing the Confused faces staring at him.

"You have a Fridge? How? There is no Electricity in the Dream Realm!"

Jet said With a raised Eyebrow. Everyone waited for him to answer when a sudden Yelp from Effie Echoed Through the Café. He Chuckled and answered Nonchalant.

"Of course I have a Fridge. I own a Café after all. As for how, it's pretty simple actually. Judging By Effie's yelp I should have warned her that I used some parts of the Winter Beast to Build it. Some of its parts even stay Cool in the Depths of an Active Volcano so I figured I will use that to keep my Ingredients fresh. Unfortunately I couldn't get rid of its chilling Aura even after I killed it."

Their expressions were priceless. Jet had only joked about Sunny being the one who killed it to cheer up Nephis a bit. She definitely does not believe that it has actually been him who slayed the Infamous Corrupted Titan that Terrorized all of Antarctica.

"KAI! TELL ME HE'S LYING RIGHT NOW!"

Jet screamed at him, to her horror Kai just shook his head and said awed.

"No, nothing but the Truth."

She turned back to Sunny more than a little rattled while her mind tried to make sense of the Situation.

"How did you kill that thing? Even Saint Tyris couldn't do that! And her Aspect perfectly counters the Winter Beast!"

Again Sunny didn't understand the Commotion, for him it had been a fierce fight too but nowhere Close as the Fight against the Sea Serpent.

'Granted, that was a Great Beast while I was just a Master....but still.'

"I baited it towards Erebus Field and when it got close enough I pulled it into the Shadows under the Ground into the Magma. There I beat the shit out of it until its core Cracked and it finally died. I couldn't let it live after what it had done to me so after becoming a Saint I took revenge. I'm a very spiteful person as you should know."

Kai laughed heartily and spat amused.

"That we know very well. It's just that we would have never thought that you killed something like the Winter Beast all by yourself. Just how much of a Monster have you become after our 3rd Nightmare?"

Sunny chuckled while actually being proud of himself.

"Thanks…I guess, but you're wrong, because I'm not a Monster but a…."
