Chapter 27: Plans To Go On A Journey To The West
Cassia had lead Isaac to the top of the building.
There they opened a room to a door.
The door lead to a small room that was transformed into a miniature meeting room.
There two people standing within the room.
One was Nephis the other was...
'Ahh you're got to be kidding him'.
The other one was a young man with brown hair and an ounce gentle face that seemed to have hardened from the grueling forgotten shore.
His ounce light brown skin grew darker his image more gallant and manly, he was the epitome of masculinity.
This contrasted by a handsome, but gentle face and humorous green eyes, creating a rather tempting visage.
Is was Caster.
Isaac paused.
Why the hell had he been checking him out like he was in some novel.
Pushing away the weirdness he brought his thoughts back.
He looked at Nephis feeling Caster side eyeing him.
"Neph it's been a while".
Isaac got close as he opened his arms.
Grabbing Nephis shoulder and pulling her into a hug.
No body in the room was surprised.
He had hugged them for a while.
After Isaac's mid life crisis about his innate ability he had pushed any thoughts of romance away from him.
He didn't know if his thoughts about romance came from his cold calculation or genuine feelings for the individual.
This was Isaac's way of making sure his cold self wouldn't go out of control potentially destroying the relationship he had with the main novel cohort.
As such, he had been slowly integrating him himself into their lives not as a romantic partner or even as a close friend.
His best bet was to integrate himself as an older brother figure.
This way in the future, whenever he was in deep trouble, it would be more likely that they would come rescue them.
Of course this wasn't Isaac's only contingency plan for when he got in danger.
They were many more complex plans, but for them to be put into reality, he needed to be a higher Rank.
With the knowledge and the ability to use his aspect abilities, he would be able to find ways out of most situations.
Seeing awaken ability, Isaac had built upon a few theories on what his abilities in the future might be like.
But only time will tell.
But the one thing about aspects, Isaac knows for certain.
It's that they slowly build upon each other with every new aspect ability.
"It's been a while Neph".
Isaac spoke in a calm tone.
Nephis reciprocated the hug.
"It has hasn't it".
After a while, they both let go.
"We have to discuss the plans to go after the crown".
Isaac nodded.
Cassia's visions had shown a crown that would help them fight the Bright Lord.
Naturally, Isaac knew it was the memory Crown of Dawn.
But to them, it was only a crown.
"So we're are we with recruitment".
Isaac didn't care truthfully, about recruiting members to come on them in their mission.
He had already chosen the main cohort to go and no one else.
"Not much".
Nephis responded.
Her voice soft.
Isaac chuckled.
"Then don't worry I will handle it".
Nephis looked at him with a calm expression but Isaac could say with certainty that her eye held gratitude.
'Seems like she still don't know how to truly connect with the people'.
Nephis needed the help of Cassia and even sometimes Isaac to fully understand others.
Due to her sheltered upbringing, she hadn't had much conversation and wasn't really sociable.
But due to Isaac constantly putting her into situations where she had to talk about herself, she had slowly become a custom to it.
Though she still had her flaws, it would still be much better than the original novel.
"Then here comes the second issue".
Everyone's face hardened.
They knew the second issue quite well.
"We need memories".
Nephis spoke.
Then she looked at Cassia.
Cassia then spoke up.
"We don't have enough to support everybody even with the constant hunts we all go on at most, we get one memory per hunt two if we're lucky".
Isaac knew of this issue.
The issue was that he couldn't receive memories.
That's why whenever he went on a hunt, especially with Sunny he would only incapacitate the monster.
Then he would allow Sunny to kill it.
He also does the same for Nephis.
This would help both of them in gaining soul fragments and the other shadow fragments.
This would increase their chances of surviving within the forgotten shore.
"The memory issue is big but we still have to go hunting, that's the only way we can truly gain memories".
Of course, this was a lie.
Isaac knew of another way to gain a large amount of memories.
The issue was he needed a certain archer he would have access to that large supply of memories.
He had been waiting a long time making sure that Kai was truly trapped within the well.
After finding out that they trapped him, he killed the guards waiting for the right time to send Sunny.
Seeing how they were about to begin their journey, Isaac thought that now would be a better time than ever.
But sadly, he couldn't tell them that.
Because what he was planning to do wouldn't be approved by them.
He was planning to take every single memory from Stev.
He was the one in charge of the memory market within the Bright Castle.
He had access to all high-ranking and even low ranking memories.
So in truth Stev could either give up all his memories obediently or Isaac would have to go into drastic measures.
"How long still you want to start the operation?".
Isaac asked.
Nephis looked at Cassia before nodding.
"In a month's time".
Isaac nodded so at most three to four weeks.
That was more than enough time to go through his plans.
Isaac smiled.
Seeing that the sky was slowly turning gray, that meant that it was time for them to hunt.
"Well then let's go hunting for some memories".
They all nodded.
Isaac took an inconspicuous glance at Caster who had remained silent through the conversation.
He seemed a bit nervous.
Isaac inwardly chuckled.
'Don't worry you definitely won't survive past the forgotten shore'.
Issac coldly thought.
'Even if I have to make sure myself'.
