Solo Levelling: Perception

Chapter 9: Chapter 9- Sung Jin-Woo

"Haruka Nanase...you do know that I am here to meet the students' guardians right?"

Sitting inside a small office one of the two figures spoke in a perplexed tone to the raven-haired student who wears a peculiar blindfold around his eyes because of his awakened powers.

The older woman with a streak of white hair going over her forehead was responsible to meet the guardians of the students and report them the situation of their wards yet here Haru was himself present despite having adoptive parents who came to register his name in the school.

"Ah, they are busy with the business and asked to extend their apology. So in their stead, I want to ask that is there something for me to improve my scores, teacher?"

Haru raised his brows and asked in a relaxed tone to which the other party sighed and replied in a defeated manner.

"You are doing great Haruka but just decide the path you want to take after school graduation, alright?"

Haru nodded and got up from his seat, intending to leave the office and meet up with Jinah to decide where they would be going. She currently was waiting for her brother to arrive while pacing to and fro in the corridor.

But just as he turned to leave, the lady again spoke up regarding an entirely unexpected topic.

"You are friends with Han Song-Yi, right?"

Haru smirked knowing full well what it was about as he replied without turning toward the teacher.

"I think you already have someone better than me to talk about this matter, right teacher?"

"Ah..."

A small exclamation left her lips, surprised since as Haru said she already had thought to discuss this with Jinah's brother who was a hunter as well but since Haru was Song Yi's good friend she thought the more pursuer the merrier it would be.

But alas, Haru had no thoughts of going after someone who was about to see a world today she was unaware of until now.

The reality of a hunter.

"Are you really Sung Jin-Woo?"

Staring at the person who appeared somewhat familiar yet different from what she remembered the last time she met him, Jinah raised the query while looking at the man standing in front.

Lean and chiseled physique with an ideal height of 6'2 was covered under a grey shirt and black trousers and a slim wristwatch which went perfectly with the attire. Short black hair with few bangs hanging over the forehead and grey eyes just like the girl signified the relationship between the two.

"What, do I look strange?"

"No I mean, I heard people change but not this much..."

Hearing Jinah's reply, Sung Jin-Woo, sighed as along with the girl he began walking down the corridor toward the teacher's office.

"I am meeting my sister's teacher. Was I supposed to come in a tracksuit and slippers?"

As the sibling chatted, the crowd already began to form around the two, with all of the eyes focused on the single person who stood out the most amongst the crowd.

Even the passing teachers had no better reaction as they caught a glance at this particular man who amazed them to wonder whether he really was a student at this same school.

He was handsome and eye-catching, to say the least, and the way he returned greetings to the teachers signified that he is humble as well.

"Wow, he's so handsome~"

"Is he a new teacher? If that's the case then I won't mind coming school on weekends as well..."

"No look, he's with Jinah so he must be her brother."

Among those students there stood a certain someone as well who was observing Jin-Woo from the very time he entered the building and was walking through the corridor.

Strangely, Jin-Woo didn't take any glance around or toward Haru despite the latter carrying mana. Maybe Haru had a very good suppression or Jin-Woo had a bad observation. Or maybe third route and Jin-Woo never found it worth checking up on Haru in the first place.

Whatever it was, with the six eyes and his keen perception, Haru was able to sense the presence of not only Jin-Woo with his eyes closed but also his shadows lurking around him like a shield ready to block any kind of surprise attack.

'That absurd magical energy....it must be required to maintain that many shadows... '

In comparison to him, Haru still was a lot far away since his mana increases with each second when he preserves it so it was given that he was packing a lot in comparison to Jin-Woo who didn't awaken his system not so long ago. But still, the tall dude was flaming with mana unlike the other hunters, Haru has come across.

Jin-Woo's movement gave no presence at all for natural sight yet there he was in person just some meters away, currently pulling Jinah's cheek for some reason and making Haru excited to see where he stands in front of the protagonist.

'It would be best if I wait for some time and check out my skills first... '

"Are you coming home, Oppa?"

It was after the school meeting when Jinah left with her brother as she suddenly asked, unsure whether he would come back now or would be staying out again.

And as she thought, his answer came in denial.

"I have someone to meet so after dropping you off, I will be out for some time."

"Oh about that. Please leave without me since I am going shopping with my friend."

Jin-Woo raised his brows in pure surprise since it was pretty rare for someone as nerdy as Jinah to say, out of nowhere, that she was going to hang out with her friend.

It was totally unexpected which brought the following query flow out Jin-Woo's lips instinctively.

"I have no problem with it but can I know who this friend might be?"

From what Jin-Woo heard from the teacher some minutes ago, Jinah was a really good friend of Han Song-Yi, and since the latter was not at school today, it must be someone else Jinah was going out with.

Given Jinah's personality Jin-Woo never thought she would have that many close friends that she would be fine going shopping with them. It wasn't odd but those who closely know Jinah would be undoubtedly surprised.

"Haru? Well, he is a good friend and a very considerate guy. He is an awakened too, so I think he might be interested in meeting you...."

Jin-Woo had his eyes narrowed and apart from the initial words, he failed to register Jinah's rest of the description of this 'friend'.

Jinah suddenly came out of her shell and made friends with some random dude to the point where she was accepting date plans could not be a mere coincidence.

Jin-Woo has recently killed some important figures in which Hwang Dongsuk was the primary reason for his concern.

'Or is it some guild trying to recruit me through such means...no, I might be overthinking this... '

Brushing away his useless thoughts which have become slightly twisted after he returned from his recent dungeon and got himself a Class, Jin-Woo relaxed his muscles.

But just to be on the safe side, Jin-Woo decided to have a face identification of this person who suddenly popped up in his sister's life.

"Can I meet this friend of yours, Jinah?"

"Sure."

Jin-Woo's eyes slightly widened since it was not Jinah who replied...

_______________

A/N: - Haru is skeptical about his own skill and would affect the main plot soon so please give him some time. And I want to develop the romance to a certain extent since Haru would engage in more fights with time and that would make him away from Jinah for a while.

Drop a comment if you appreciate my hard work tho~
