Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 354: Chapter 354: Bringing Home a Wife

As Diana watched Robert's transformation into his Great Ape form, her eyes sparkled slightly. Although Robert's current state wasn't as powerful as his previous mimic form, it still placed considerable pressure on her, sparking her desire to test his current combat abilities.

Previously, Robert and Diana had agreed that if Robert could defeat her, he would literally carry her home to be his wife. Even though they were ahead of schedule, their agreement to battle wasn't just going to be set aside since both enjoyed the thrill of combat.

Moreover, if Robert couldn't defeat Diana, she wasn't about to let him leave her side again, especially now that Robert was fully grown. Diana didn't believe for a second that Robert would return to his studies with his personality; she rather thought it simpler for him to just stay, putting aside any thoughts of others like Kara.

Of course, these were Diana's internal thoughts, which she did not voice. Ultimately, whether they acted on these plans would depend on whether Robert's combat abilities alone could satisfy her...

"Should we just let her watch us? I'm not comfortable with someone like that watching our battle. What if she takes advantage after?" Robert, too, was eager to test his mettle but didn't immediately engage Diana in battle. Although Leopard Woman Barbara had been intimidated by him, she was ultimately an outsider and the two had just fought. Robert was not comfortable having her around, so he communicated telepathically with Diana.

"Hmm?" Diana paused when she heard Robert's telepathic message, always having thought of Robert as a pure warrior, skilled in many combat techniques but not in the mystic arts.

"It's fine, I'll talk to her..." Diana quickly regained her composure, shaking her head and addressing Leopard Woman Barbara, "You came here to fight, although not with me this time. You've fought with Robert, which should have cleared your mind quite a bit. You shouldn't lose control again so soon, right?"

Leopard Woman Barbara sought Diana out for battle, partly to vent the violent impulses within her—a method that, while not entirely ridding her of the Leopard God's influence, did spare her from killing too many others.

Leopard Woman Barbara was no saint, but she didn't want to be controlled by the Leopard God's power to kill indiscriminately; the feeling of mindless slaughter was unpleasant.

However, her encounter with Robert, though unintended, did calm the Leopard God's power within her somewhat—an unintended benefit, though one Leopard Woman Barbara was loath to admit.

"I will come for you again!" Hearing Diana's words, Leopard Woman Barbara understood Diana's intent. She cast a wary glance at Robert, not daring to speak further on matters of worthiness, and finally looked at Diana, saying her piece before swiftly departing in another direction.

"Boom!" Just as Leopard Woman Barbara left, a terrible sound erupted where Robert and Diana stood. She trembled, sensing the Great Ape's power—a fiercer and more violent aura than the Leopard God's—but she did not stop, choosing to leave the area instead.

Leopard Woman Barbara knew that if she stayed, she could easily be mistaken by Robert for harboring ill intentions. Frightened by his Great Ape form, she was wary of him; despite her irritation at his close relationship with Diana, she dared not contemplate further aggression. It was a natural, hierarchical oppression.

Moreover, Leopard Woman Barbara understood that someone with the brutal Great Ape power like Robert was no saint. Even with Diana present, if Robert misunderstood her intentions, he would not hesitate to act.

On the other side, Diana and Robert could not help but start their battle as soon as Leopard Woman Barbara left. After their initial clash, they naturally moved the battlefield, knowing all too well that their familiar wilderness could no longer sustain their combat.

Even in previous fights here, Robert and Diana had used this place as a starting point before taking their battle to the skies. Unlike Leopard Woman Barbara, who seemed incapable of flight, both Robert and Diana excelled in aerial combat, especially Diana.

Initially, Robert was unaware of Diana's proficiency in aerial combat. However, as the battles progressed and Diana unleashed even greater divine power in the air, Robert realized Diana also had her own "cheats."

Indeed, compared to what he knew of Thor from Asgard, Diana seemed more a true Thunder God, even though he had never seen Diana harness lightning herself. Yet the appearance of thunder in the sky enhanced Diana's combat strength, allowing her to draw on the thunder's power.

For instance, now that Robert and Diana were in the air, Diana's combat strength once again increased, her Lasso of Truth even drawing on the thunder's power, hurling it towards Robert.

"Boom!" Facing the thunder's force, Robert didn't dare underestimate it. His energy waves clashed with the thunder in the sky, causing a violent collision.

Robert realized the thunder here wasn't normal natural lightning; it contained a divine force

distinctly different from that in Thor's hammer—this must be the so-called Zeus's power from Mount Olympus. Robert wondered if Diana, in this state, could wield Thor's hammer...

Whether Diana could lift the hammer was a question for later, though. Even if Odin had not specified how to handle Thor's hammer, Robert suspected Odin must have left a special failsafe within it...

"Clang!" As the thunder clashed with the energy wave, Diana swung her Sword of Hephaestus at Robert's head, but he blocked it with a karate chop.

Diana wasn't holding back, knowing Robert was now on her level—a fact confirmed by their previous encounters in Asgard, where Robert had managed to unleash even greater combat power. Yet, Diana hadn't expected Robert to block the Sword of Hephaestus with his arm alone!

Previously, Robert had blocked the sword using an energy blade, but now his body was strong enough to withstand the sword's sharpness—his combat strength had improved across the board.

Unknown to Diana, during their battle under the Shield of Divine Power when Frigga nearly killed her, Robert had already used his body to block Frigga's blade. Now, although Robert's strength wasn't on par with his mimic form, Diana's power certainly wasn't as great as Frigga's either!

And Diana hadn't realized that Robert wasn't devoid of energy; he had simply concentrated it within his arm to counter the sharpness of the Sword of Hephaestus. Relying solely on bodily strength to contend with a divine weapon, particularly one known for its sharpness, was still challenging...

When Robert blocked the Sword of Hephaestus, he immediately closed the distance with Diana, launching a powerful punch imbued with a brilliant aura of energy. Diana, reacting quickly, tried to use the thunder's power to create distance between them, but unfortunately, she wasn't entirely successful.

Diana's retreat was swift, but Robert's advance was equally fast, preventing her from fully escaping his attack range. Fortunately, at the last moment, Diana successfully positioned her Shield of Divine Power in front of her.

"Boom!" With a muffled sound, Diana trembled in the air, flying backward as she dissipated the force from Robert's punch. She then bound the thunder's power with her Lasso of Truth, her body aglow with its light as she charged towards Robert.

"Boom!" In the high air, Diana, illuminated by thunder, seemed like a deity descending from the heavens, raising her Shield of Divine Power and smashing it towards Robert, who countered with a punch. The two forces exploded at their point of impact, sending both bodies hurtling back.

Diana flew further up into the air, while Robert nearly crashed to the ground.

But Robert's reactions were quick; he lightly slapped the ground, releasing a burst of energy that formed a backdraft, stabilizing his body and propelling him back towards Diana.

"Boom!" Quickly, Robert collided with Diana again, the thunder's light swirling around her not significantly weaker than Robert's Great Ape power. But from the moment Robert's combat strength caught up to Diana's, it was destined that Diana would struggle to overcome him.

Even as Diana in the high skies continued to enhance her combat strength with Zeus's power, the enhancement from Robert's Great Ape form was accelerating even faster. Having previously activated his mimic transformation, he had pushed the Great Ape form to a new height, making it difficult to revert to the mimic state but relatively simple to continue enhancing his combat strength under the rage of the Great Ape form...

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

In the high skies, the battle between Robert and Diana continued for an unknown duration, with both adjusting their positions amid the commotion, mindful that staying in one place could lead others to discover them.

This battle lasted longer than Robert had initially anticipated. Just as Robert had once been able to fiercely compete with Diana despite being less powerful, Diana's current strength, although slightly inferior to Robert's, wasn't drastically different.

If it weren't for the Great Ape power enhancing Robert's combat abilities faster than Zeus's power was enhancing Diana's, Robert might not have found it so easy to dominate or even defeat Diana...

But in the end, Robert emerged victorious, marking the first time he had truly defeated Diana—or perhaps the second, counting the recent victory under the Shield of Divine Power.

"Clang!" With Diana's Sword of Hephaestus falling to the ground, Diana, covered in wounds, also plummeted towards the earth. However, Robert naturally wouldn't let her fall like that; despite being hardly better off himself, he hadn't lost his mobility.

"Whoosh!" With a swift motion, Robert caught Diana in his arms, and she, exhausted, opened her eyes to see Robert smiling satisfactorily at her, whispering, "You've done half of it. You've beaten me..."

"Huh? Yeah, I did beat you, but why only half?"

Robert, puzzled, looked at Diana curiously.

"What do you think?" Diana, appearing somewhat weak, glared at Robert with a retort.

"Uh..." Robert, still somewhat clueless, scratched his head and deactivated his Great Ape form, not understanding Diana's implication. He had already defeated her, where was the 'half' part missing? It wasn't a narrow victory; with the enhancement from his Great Ape form, he had managed to send the Sword of Hephaestus flying, clearly demonstrating his formidable strength.

"You've grown up, but why are you still so slow to catch on?" Diana sighed somewhat helplessly, her eyes seductively fixed on Robert as she softly said, "You said before, after you beat me, you'd carry me home to be your wife..."

"Isn't that what I'm doing?" Robert, initially struggling to keep up with Diana's pace, obediently lifted her onto his shoulder. Diana, seeing this, nodded in satisfaction, seemingly forgetting their earlier transgression and looking forward to what came next.

Soon, Robert carried Diana back home, and the two entered the bathroom together, the glow of the Shield of Divine Power once again protecting the room to prevent their sparring from demolishing the house...
