Chapter 28
Chapter 28
“Is he here for the audition?”
Na-ra answered Seo Eun-hye’s question as she entered the makeshift tent.
“I guess so. The script looked pretty scary for a kid.”
“Will Seo-jun be okay?”
“Yeah!”
He was totally fine. He was actually excited about the upcoming shooting.
Seo-jun replied and sat on a small chair that he brought for the child actors.
The tent was supposed to be a waiting room for the child actors who were auditioning.
There were two cots, a large table, a small table, a mirror, some chairs for adults, and several chairs for kids.
There were also some snacks, sandwiches, and juice.
Seo Eun-hye looked around the tent. It was amazing to be on an American movie set. She had never been to a Korean movie set before.
Na-ra handed her a cup of coffee and opened her mouth.
“Are you nervous about the Marina movie?”
“I thought I was going to die for three days.”
Seo Eun-hye sighed and answered. She was trembling when she signed the audition and shooting agreement that was sent by mail.
Marina!
It was one of the top three movie production companies in the world.
Marina became famous for making live-action movies of comics and superheroes.
The most popular movie was Redbone.
Redbone 1, which no one cared about, turned the world upside down after its release.
Fans of Redbone sprang up all over the world.
Now they were shooting Redbone 2, and the interest was enormous.
“Na-ra, is Redbone in it?”
“No, it’s a Marina movie, but not a Redbone movie.”
“Aw!”
Seo-jun pouted his lips. He enjoyed watching Redbone. But even if it was a Redbone movie, seo-jun’s scene would be very short.
It was a brief scene that the audience would forget in a second.
Na-ra smiled softly as she watched Seo Eun-hye gulp down her coffee.
“This is a secret. Because of an accident, redbone 2’s shooting was delayed, so Marina decided to produce and release two movies before that. That’s why the shooting schedule is urgent.”
“Two?”
As Seo-jun asked, a cough was heard outside the tent, followed by a woman’s voice.
“Excuse me. Can I come in?”
“Yes. Please come in.”
Two men and women entered the tent.
A woman who was smiling awkwardly and a man who was wearing a thick coat.
“Hello. I’m Melissa, who plays William’s mother.”
“Hello. I’m Baren, who will help with the shooting.”
Seo-jun got off the chair and greeted them.
“Hello. I’m Seo-jun Lee, the child actor.”
The two people widened their eyes and smiled. They heard that the last child actor was the youngest, four years and ten months old, but he was smart and spoke well. Melissa said with a smile.
“I thought it would be better to get to know each other before the shooting, so I came with him.”
She said that, but it was already the fifth time she came to the child actor’s waiting room.
Melissa’s awkward smile felt like a spasm.
“I don’t want to scare you by suddenly coming in from behind.”
Of course, baren was the same.
“Ah, please sit down. I’m Seo-jun’s mom, seo Eun-hye.”
“Nice to meet you. I’m Na-ra Kim.”
They exchanged greetings and the waiting room became quiet, but the awkward atmosphere soon eased.
It was because Na-ra Kim, who had a good social skill, actively asked about the movie shooting scene.
“It must be hard to repeat the same acting.”
Melissa shook her head.
“I can act as much as I want, but the problem is that the kids cry too much.”
“In front of them, a stranger woman screams loudly, and behind them, a stranger man grabs them.”
Barren smiled bitterly.
“They must be very scared because they are young.”
“We just have to act, but the staff are having a hard time.”
Melissa and Barren thought of Jonathan Will, the only staff member who was young and small among the fierce-looking staff, who was in charge of taking care of the children.
Jonathan Will had been running around all day today, soothing and looking after the crying children.
Melissa and Barren decided to achieve their purpose of coming into the tent.
Melissa, barren, and Seo-jun.
The three actors sat on chairs and talked.
They talked about playing with their next-door friend, Jack, and the other movies they were shooting now.
Seo Eun-hye and Na-ra smiled proudly as they saw Seo-jun talking happily.
Melissa asked.
“Jun, did you read the script?”
“Mom read it to me.”
“How was it? How do you think William felt?”
“He must have been very happy.”
Melissa and Barren widened their eyes as they recalled the scenes they had already shot several times. Happy? No way.
“Why?”
“Because mom called my name.”
Seo-jun recalled the script that his mom had read to him.
Seo-jun’s scene was short.
The invaders who invaded the earth created wormholes all over the earth.
Seo-jun’s scene was one of the scenes that showed the damage situation.
The baby who was playing alone in the garden looked at his mom who ran out of the house after watching the breaking news.
‘William!’
The baby smiled brightly, holding the bear doll he was playing with, as his mom called his name like a scream.
Then, a black wormhole that was scary enough to be behind the baby was created. The desperate mom called.
‘William!!’
But the baby smiled even brighter at his mom’s scream.
And in an instant, the baby disappeared into the wormhole.
Leaving only one shoe.
“William didn’t know anything. He was just happy that mom called him.”
“That’s a good interpretation.”
A familiar voice was heard.
No, it was similar to what he had heard before.
Seo-jun lifted his head and saw a man entering the tent.
Seo-jun, who was sitting on the chair, lifted his head so much that it hurt to see the man.
He was huge.
His height and build were so big that his mouth opened wide.
Seo Eun-hye and Na-ra’s eyes also widened. If he hadn’t been a movie director, wouldn’t he have been an athlete?
“Director!”
Melissa and Barren, who were sitting next to Seo-jun, jumped up.
He was the director of this movie, ryan Will.
Ryan Will entered the tent. Next to the director, there was a makeup artist holding a cosmetic box and a stylist carrying the clothes for Seo-jun.
Ryan Will sat down in front of Seo-jun. Their eyes met.
Ryan’s blue eyes moved up and down, examining Seo-jun.
The boy was bigger than he had seen in the video.
Black hair. Black eyes. His features were clear and would look good on the screen.
He also seemed to have a decent height.
He didn’t look scared even when he made a fierce expression.
Moreover, he was only an extra in the scene, but he had his own interpretation of the script.
He was different from the other child actors who just moved as their guardians told them.
Ryan Will smiled wickedly and reached out his hand, which was as big as Seo-jun’s face.
“You don’t seem to be afraid of me, so you must have some courage. Nice to meet you. I’m Ryan Will.”
“Hello. I’m Seo-jun Lee, a child actor. Please call me Jun.”
Ryan Will’s large hand and Seo-jun’s small hand touched.
“Right. Even if the situation around you is sad and serious, william doesn’t know anything. So you have to smile happily, Jun.”
“Yes!”
Seo-jun smiled brightly at Ryan’s words. I have prepared a secret weapon too!
Ryan Will, who had exchanged greetings with Seo-eun Hye and Na-ra Kim, left the tent to prepare for the next shooting.
“Shall we change clothes first?”
The stylist, who was looking at the clock, said. Seo-jun changed his clothes. Fortunately, the season in the movie was autumn, so Seo-jun wore warm clothes.
“It’s a bit chilly, but the fabric is thick and there’s a warm hand warmer inside, so you’ll be fine.”
“You don’t need much makeup either.”
The two people who finished their work quickly went out of the tent to find something else to do.
“Then we’ll go too. Jun. Fighting!”
Melissa, who played William’s mother, and Barron, who helped lift Seo-jun from behind and make him disappear into the chroma key, also went out to prepare for the shooting.
Na-ra also went out of the tent to make a phone call.
Everyone seemed to have made an appointment and left the place, and only Seo Eun-hye and Seo-jun were left in the tent.
“What do you want to do, seo-jun?”
“Meditation!”
Seo-jun took out a flat slime pillow from his zombie bag. It was his favorite item that Kim Hee-sang had made for him and he always carried it with him.
“Are you sleeping?”
“No. It’s meditation.”
Seo Eun-hye laughed.
Where did he hear the word meditation?
She was amazed and exhausted by her son’s language development, which was far superior to his peers.
“Okay. Mom will read a book here.”
“Okay!”
Seo-jun climbed onto the makeshift bed in the corner of the tent. He lay down with the slime pillow. His mother covered him with a blanket on one side.
“Then I’ll wake you up when it’s time to shoot.”
“It’s meditation.”
Seo-jun closed his eyes with a pout.
[Summer Bear’s Hibernation-Lowest Grade], which was engraved on the back of Seo-jun’s head, had a very excellent effect.
He fell asleep as soon as his head touched the pillow.
[Summer Bear’s Hibernation-Lowest Grade]
Summer bears, who only work in the hot summer, are too cold in autumn, winter, and spring, so they only sleep.
You fall asleep wherever you touch for 30 minutes a day.
Your recovery rate is slightly higher during sleep.
***
He was standing in front of the Library of Life.
There was only one door that opened before, the blue one. But now, another door was open.
It was the yellow one.
Seo-jun quickly pressed the bead that contained a power he had found in the yellow door library three days ago against his face.
The bead sparkled and a smiley pattern appeared on both cheeks of Seo-jun.
[Smiling Face Mushroom’s Illusion-Low Grade]
When you smile, an illusion magic is cast on the target who sees your face.
The target feels compassion for you for a certain period of time.
The effect and duration vary depending on the target.
“This was a big trouble because it was automatically used when I smiled.”
He rubbed his cheeks that felt slightly warm and recalled a week ago.
He had searched all night for a power after listening to the script his mother read. He was so happy to find the perfect power that he registered it right away.
The next morning, he smiled as usual when he saw his mom and dad.
[Smiling Face Mushroom’s Illusion is activated.]
‘What?’
Suddenly, his mom and dad hugged him. They squeezed him tighter than usual. And then, with a tearful voice mixed with overwhelming emotions in their chest,
“Our Seo-jun!”
“Our cute Seo-jun!”
They called out to him. The effect changed depending on the target. It seemed that they felt more intense emotions because they were his parents.
Fortunately, their emotions soon subsided. But Seo-jun had to stay in his mom and dad’s sight for half a day because of the skill.
All the effects disappeared by that evening.
Seo-jun was surprised by the good power and smiled, then quickly stiffened his face and went to sleep.
He couldn’t use it normally.
He had to cancel this skill today.
Because of that skill, seo-jun had no choice but to sleep well on the set.
“This is a problem from now on.”
He must never smile.
Seo-jun tapped both cheeks and opened his eyes.
