Terraria: Shadow of the Last Light

Chapter 3: The Preperation To Become A Legend

...

I was born to a small village at the corner of the human territory. My father was a farmer, he owned a plantation of tomatoes and provided them to the whole village. So all the money in my familiy came from him. My mother was more of a stay at home wife, she took care of me while my father was working at the filed. My father was strict, but he didn't hit me yet, probably because I didn't do things that were to wrong and because I'm a girl.

The village was surrounded by an unbelievably high walls made out of planks and bricks, it looked a more of a prison. There were also guard towers at every corner of the village, probably for archers to shoot down enemies. As for the height of the wall, it's about 15 meters.

If we need this much security, that would have several reasons, like: their weapons are weak, the monsters are stronger then the game, or both.

They also have rules like:

-All villagers must be within their homes by night.

-Only adults are allowed to go outside and never on night.

-The gate can only be opened for emergencies.

...

There are probably more rules, but I didn't hear any from the conversations I overheard.

And they planted sunflowers all around the village, in the game sunflowers prevented monster spawns, probably similair here.

So they really are scared of the monsters...

*Sigh*

But it doesn't matter anyway, I won't be allowed to leave until I'm an adult.

So it's going to be difficult gathering resources, I could grab the brances and rocks I find on the ground... Wait this world is basically a realistic version of the game, so maybe I don't need an item to use magic, maybe I can use magic with nothing but knowledge, but they probably don't have any magic tomes in this village, so I guess I'll have to do the most known technique for learning new stuff without instructions... Trial and error.

...

But maybe I am hurrying too much I still have more than a decade until I can leave.

After all I can barely do anything now with a baby body. And it also seems that my name changed from "Aurora" to "Anaya". I kind of like it, which means "God Answered" or "Cared One" symoblizing a divine intervension or blessing. Which is pretty much what I am thanks to the blessings I was given by the Goddess of Order.

*Knock-Knock-Knock*

While I was lost to my thoughts my mother opened the door and entered with a smile on her face.

"Ooh Anaya~..."

Sigh

"Time to eat~"

My mother feeds me the same way every mammel does, it's a bit emberrasing, but I know that this is the only way for me to get the nutritions my body needs, so I just swallow my pride, and it does also taste good, so that's a plus.

"Open your moooouuuth~"

...

I don't dislike this, but I would prefer to be older.

2 Years Later...

*Sigh*

I sat on the ground looking at the clouds with a frown on my face.

That took so long to gather all that and... Just look.

After being born there wasn't much I could do for the first 4 months. But I still had 1 year and 8 months to gather resources.

But I guess you're probably asking how do I have so little although I have been gathering resources for almost 2 years.

The answer is very simple...

IT WAS SO DAMN SLOW GATHERING ALL THAT!

I had to wait for branches to fall, and for stones to surface from natural activities.

I was picking branches and rocks almost every day.

But... I wasn't just gathering those resources throughout all that time. I was also training to be stronger after I was 1.5 years old, I trained my body for 6 months.

I also have enough resources to make a wooden sword, which might actually be better than the swords the warriors here have.

Well I need to hide so that the others will not see me create an object out of thin air.

I went and hid in a place I know no one will see me as I open my player interface.

Finally I can use my special powers, I'm not going to hesitate using these powers.

I pressed YES.

...

And I got it.

I checked my inventory.

-Tomatoes: x19

-Bread: x10

-Work bench

That was a bit anti climactic to be honest, but that's how it is in the game as well, and my crafting powers are exactly like game's.

I placed my work bench and a work bench just metirialized from thin air in front of me, I unlocked new crafting recipes.

[This item will cost: Wood x7]

[Are you sure you want to craft this item]

[YES / NO]

I pressed YES and when the crafting ended I checked my inventory to look for it and selected it to see if it has a modifier.

And it did have one, but to my great surprise it wasn't what I would expect.

---

[Superior] Wooden sword]

-7 melle damage

-4% critical hit chance

-Fast speed

-Weak knockback

[+10% damage]

[+3% critical hit chance]

[+10% knockback]

I took it out of my inventory, and here it was.

But unlike the game this one looked so much cooler, it looked really sharp, and the engraving made it seem truly superior as the modifier name says it is.

It looks as if it would be from a legendary battle, I just wonder how would greater swords look like if this one is already looking so cool.

And it was also weightless.

Even if I am twice as strong than an a regular 2 year old, it looked like you would need like 5 strength to lift it.

I'm not sure if it only applies or just my craftings, but I will try lifting a sword someone else made.

I'm also not sure if I could summon Wall of Flash since I will kill the Guide which I have yet to see, and unlike the game he will not respawn.

Hmm... I wonder if my skills were kept from my old life, I still remember all I had done, so I guess I just need my new body's muscles to know those skills.

I would also need my body to be like my old one or even better than my old one.

I might a bit of a hubris even if I died, but this time I'll be stronger, better, I will do my very best to become unkillable.

But I still don't know if I'm even on the normal mode or the harder ones, given the amount of security in the village I would guess we're not in normal mode, so it could be expert, master, and it would really suck if it's legendary mode, which is only in "For The Worthy" seed and master mode, but if it is, and I'll kill the moon lord, I will actually be the greatest in the world. I would be a true Legand!

But, that's for the future, now I need to reawaken my skills, and maybe do even more.
