The Beast Tamer Is A Slime

Chapter 15: “Taming The First Beast”

Not to mention, the guy's whole body was trembling so hard that Neo suspected the young man had Parkinson disease.

Why did this guy suddenly become like this? He was fine a few minutes ago!

What Neo didn't know is that…he was the culprit who turned Charlie into such a state.

How could the poor boy not be so frightened when he found out that out of the blue, everyone's spoils were missing exactly one slime corpse!

Including his own share.

How could he explain this matter to the hunters? He would be lucky if the hunters didn't strangle him to death!

Charlie could only hope that the hunters would not discover the small loss at all.

Just like that, the other five hunters entered the back section of the cave and another round of fierce fight was bound to happen.

Neo felt that he was the safest near John, so he continued to sleep on the man's head, even gripping the poor man's hair with his small jelly hands so that he wouldn't accidentally fall to death.

During the fierce fight with these huge basketball-sized slimes, the hunters finally started to use their various skills.

Lina's [The Leader] talent allowed her to become a good commander, helping everyone to exert their greatest strength.

Remy's [Cheerleader] talent supported the other four hunters, boosting their various status and skills.

That's a super good supporting skill, but the skill effect was embarrassing.

Remy had to dance like a real cheerleader, in a real cheerleader uniform, holding two pom-poms and shouting embarrassing lines for a full minute.

Daniel's skill was even more bizarre.

Neo suspected that the skill was called [Curiosity Killed The Cat] because whenever Daniel showed a sign of curiosity about anything, he immediately courted death.

Many slimes would suddenly attack Daniel instead of anyone else!

Oh, what a strange taunt-type skill.

There was also Tom, who didn't show any remarkable things other than his swift movement, using his twin daggers to kill a few slimes.

His talent didn't seem to be that useful during combat.

And there was John, the star of the show.

Not only did he have a strange skill that allowed him to launch a fierce attack with a dagger, he also had a skill that Neo was familiar with.

[Air Barrier]

John used the air barrier on himself when he was cornered. The barrier even protected the little slime on his head.

As expected of [The Protector] talent. His skill was so useful for others.

Add some bonus points because the special effects of John's two skills so far, the offensive one and the [Air Barrier], were cool, not embarrassing at all!

Neo was so jealous of John that he thought of biting the man's head while he was fighting slimes.

But in the end, Neo resisted such an urge, afraid that the guy would be distracted and die an unjust death.

Anyway, this man would be his contracted "beast" soon. Wouldn't those cool skills be his?

The [Beast Tamer] talent still had one unique basic skill that was no different from stealing a skill from their contracted beast.

Neo had never been so glad that he awakened as a beast tamer!

Even if his skills weren't that effective in combat, as long as his contracted beasts were awesome, he would also be a big boss!

Neo resolutely decided to spare one of his two beast taming slots for John.

Hooman, it's your honor that this slime is taking a fancy on you!

Neo waited patiently until the hunters completely killed the slimes inside the cave, leaving only five to ten smaller slimes behind for further breeding.

It took them more than an hour to massacre the slimes and after that, Charlie got to work while the hunters rested casually on the ground.

Seeing this, Neo's non-existent eyes immediately flashed with a cunning light.

The opportunity is here!

The slime quickly read the prerequisites to tame his first "beast" and found that the target "beast" had to lower their head or their body in front of the beast tamer, which was a sign of submission and willingness to make a contract.

This shouldn't be difficult.

Neo wagged his phantom fox tail as he looked at John with a cunning smile.

Hehehe. It's time to tame a "big bear"!

The "big bear" didn't know anything, but then, he found out that the golden slime on his head suddenly became restless.

It tried to climb down his head, but instead of going to the neck, it crawled down to his face.

John was immediately alert.

What went wrong again with the slime?

Even if John was soft-hearted to the slime, he was also vigilant against the slime's any movements.

If the slime suddenly attacked him, with the slime laying on his head, John was sure that he would suffer some injuries to certain degrees.

Neo ignored John's vigilance and slid down from the man's head to his face, slowly about to fall to the ground.

Seeing this, John's reflex kicked in, and he quickly squatted while lowering his head.

He propped up his two hands, ready to catch the falling slime.

The next second, the slime fell straight to John's two palms, but at the same time, John was lowering his head, looking at the slime.

He even squatted with his back bent.

All of this was just a conditional reflex and the man became more careful about Neo purely because of the guy's [Cub's Cry] skill.

Unfortunately, he didn't know that what he did out of reflex was precisely what Neo tricked him to do.

The moment John "bowed" at Neo, the slime didn't hesitate to activate his ultimate skill.

DING! [Beast Taming] skill is activated.

[Beast Taming]

[Skill level: S]

A white light enveloped Neo's body, but because the other hunters were at a certain distance from John, they didn't notice this at all.

They were all busy laying on the ground, panting and out of breath, even closing their eyes to take a break, perfectly missing the earth-shattering incident happening in front of their eyes!
