Chapter 36
“…What? Wait a minute, Your Royal Highness.”
Endimion shook his head as if he didn’t understand the situation.
“Now… are you saying that the one you care about is my wife?”
“The way you talk is interesting. I fell in love with Lady Lobelia before I knew she was your wife. And…”
Blue eyes full of coldness glared at him fiercely.
“It doesn’t matter if you know.”
Endimion’s mouth opened wide.
Why is it the first prince who took care of Lobelia who lost her memory.? Even though he was now under the power of the empress, Frinel was one of those people whom he couldn’t do something recklessly. He immediately came to his senses, shook his head, and quickly opened his mouth.
“No, Your Royal Highness. Lia is my wife…!”
“Your official wife is the Marchioness Hamilton.”
“We also have a daughter…!”
“It doesn’t matter. There are people who adopt and raise other people’s children, but how lovely would it be if she were the daughter of a woman I loved.” Frinel answered slyly, raising the corners of his mouth.
Astonishment filled Endimion’s pure eyes. Judging from the situation, he didn’t seem to listen to his calm words. Endimion shouted with contempt. “To think someone like Your Highness loves someone else’s wife…!”
Frinel recited low as if he was dumbfounded by Endimion. “Isn’t that the same for you?”
“The same for me?” He replied right away as if he couldn’t understand at all.
Frinel let out a small sigh and sneered. “A marquis has two wives? No, the one you already officially married is Marchioness Hamilton…”
Then he slowly drove in the final wedge.
“Lobelia will be your concubine.”
At his words, Endimion’s eyes shook.
In the Tiazen Empire, nobles were officially allowed to have concubines. However, despite being allowed, it was considered scandalous and dishonorable. As a result, only a small minority of people had concubines, and even if they did, the higher-ranking nobles would never publicly reveal it. It was something that should never be exposed in society.
“But to send the person I love as the Marquis’s concubine?”
Frinel let out a sneer and glared at him clearly. “Do you think I will allow it?”
“We are in love. It doesn’t matter what other people see.”
“Do you really think so? And do you think Lady Lobelia thinks the same?”
“Lia won’t mind any of that.”
“What would you do if such a terribly precious woman began to be criticized by the nobles?”
Endimion, who continued to argue with his words, was speechless.
“What do you think would happen on the day when Marchioness Hamilton holds a banquet? She’ll have to hide in her room. As one of the high-ranking nobles of the Tiazen Empire, the marchioness will periodically host tea time.”
“That’s…”
“And will Lady Lobelia, who has lost her memory, feel the same way as before?”
“Of course! Love never changes!”
“Love never changes.”
Frinel looked at Lobelia, who was stroking the horse and put his lips to Endimion’s ear. Then he whispered. “Please, I hope you’re not wrong.” The corners of his mouth are slanted.
Frinel immediately waved at Lobelia. “Lady Lobelia!”
Lobelia reacted slowly, acting as if her name was still unfamiliar to her.
“Ah, Frinel.”
“Lia!”
As she approached them, Endimion nervously pulled Frinel aside and stepped in front of her. Then he clasped Lobelia’s hand. “Now, it’s time to go home. You will be surprised to see how tall Merilly has grown.”
A friendly tone was directed at me. I stared blankly at the hand he was holding. When our eyes met, Endimion smiled flawlessly. It was to the point I wanted to kill him right now.
“Um…”
I pulled out the hand he was holding with a puzzled expression. At my sudden action, Endimion froze in shock.
“Honey.”
“I’m sorry. I was a little confused earlier, so I stayed still…”
I fluttered my eyelashes and blurted the end of my words.
“As expected, I don’t remember anything. So holding hands like this is a little…”
He stared at me blankly for a moment. Then, he spoke with a benevolent expression as if he understood everything. “I understand. It must be confusing. But we have to go to the mansion. If you ride a horse and go through the tunnel, you should be able to get there in no time.”
“Um…”
My gaze moved to the two horses tied to the tree. Then Frinel stepped forward immediately as if he had planned it.
“Lady Lobelia would be better to ride my horse. Even if your words are true, she’s still unfamiliar with you. How about it, Lady Lobelia?”
“Good.” Only then did a smile of relief spread over my face.
Frinel grabbed me by the waist and put me on the top of his horse. Then he embraced my body and grabbed the horse’s reins. “Follow me. I’ll take her to the march.”
Looking at Endimion being bewildered and unable to respond, I felt satisfaction and energetically strode forward. In the cool breeze, I said my words. “Your Royal Highness acting skills are good.”
“Of course. Who am I helping? Shouldn’t I do my best?”
“Did you see his face?”
I let out a laugh, slightly relieved.
“Yes. It was hilarious. He’s a complete madman. It’s going to be difficult to handle him in the normal way.”
“I told you. He’s crazy.”
My emerald eyes glistened coolly.
Endimion was so much the same. I hated him so much to the point I shuddered at the fact that the only person who had changed was me. Will my anger come to sleep if I cut his throat right now? No, I had to give him more pain. It should be more painful than the little scar on Merilly’s chest. The flames of anger that filled my heart would be extinguished only by tearing his heart apart.
“I witnessed my husband, who had lived with me for three years, getting married again, and saying the bullshit about loving both of us,” I spoke in a low voice and continued. “That’s why I can’t trust anyone. Even… to Your Royal Highness who said you would help me.”
Frinel quietly listened to my words.
“Therefore…” It was only a little later that I continued slowly again. “Keep doing that.”
“Hmm? What?”
“…Your Royal Highness said you were going to seduce me. I’ll allow it.”
It was a very small voice. On top of that, the horse was galloping, so it sounded smaller because of the wind. However, Frinel could hear it clearly. The sound of Lobelia’s heart opening to him little by little.
“So that I can trust you.”
“Lady Lobelia.”
“Yes.”
“Even if I can’t make you love me…”
A warm voice rang out from behind her.
“At least I will try to make you trust in me.”
“…Thank you.”
She gave a small thank you. Frinel smirked as he saw that Lobelia’s ears had turned red.
“Why are you laughing?”
“Because you’re cute.”
“…Have you already started?”
“Hmm?”
Over the Mana Tunnel, the Hamilton March in the south could be seen in no time.
“I mean seducing.”
The horse’s speed slowed down. Arriving in front of the march, Frinel got off his horse first. Then he stretched out both his hands towards her and said, “What are you talking about?”
A large hand wrapped around Lobelia’s waist.
“I haven’t even started yet.”
He lifted Lobelia at once and laid her gently on the ground. At the same time, the sound of horseshoes began to be heard in the distance. It seemed to be the sound of Endimion, feeling uneasy, running madly.
Just in time, Frinel brushed off her hair, which was blown away by the wind. A friendly touch swept over the hair. Then she closed one of her eyes. She seemed to be trying to arouse Endimion’s jealousy.
Looking at the two, who seemed quite friendly, Endimion hurriedly got off his horse. “Lia!”
As if I hadn’t heard Endimion’s voice, I stared into Frinel’s eyes. The corners of my mouth curled up as I thought of a good idea. And the moment he approached us,
“Thank you, Frinel.”
I lightly kissed Frinel on the cheek. Their gazes toward me were confused.
Soon, I slowly turned my head. Looking straight at Endimion, trembling in shock, I raised my mouth slightly.
