The Dungeon Conquerors: Journey to the Peak

Chapter 323: Ch 326: New Mission and Ghosts

After the metting started, Luna started to tell the other two about what she had found out about Jakery from the diary. Rein was ready to start working on the Downfall of Nature and Society but having more information was always better.

Luna told them that as this was a personal diary, Jakery had written a lot there. And as this diary was a magic tool, he had an almost unlimited amount of space to write. So he had described a lot of things here in detail.

But the majority of the diary was filled with his hatred toward a lot of things. It looked like even in his own organisation, the Order of Ramna, he hated a lot of people including their leader, the magus powerhouse. That was also the reason why he was secretly working for an opposing evil organisation called Fallen Crow.

The token that was found belonged to this exact organisation. This organisation was almost as strong as the Order of Ramna but the sixth rank powerhouse in charge of it was weaker than the magus of the order. For that reason, they never dared to oppose the Order of Ramna directly.

Even in this organisation, Jakery had many enemies. He had some very extreme ideology which many people hated. He was also someone who did not hold back his words. For that reason wherever he went, he made many enemies.

Luna had found this diary to be fascinating as it explained many parts of the history that probably had no witnesses. And she had also created a perfect simplified version of it in her mind, which Rein would find very helpful.

Rein was already aware of Jakery's charector but after the addition of the new information, he would have a more concrete idea about him. Luna did not need much time and in just a few hours, she managed to explain most of the important content of the diary.

...

The very next day, all three of them started flying toward their nexr destination which was a city called Hoan. So far they had completed four missions but they still had five more missions to complete. In the city of Hoan, they had a single mission to complete. It was also the mission that Lopas had chosen by herself.

As for what they needed from do for this mission, it was quite interesting. They needed to investigate a house which had a very high chance of being a haunted house. The owner of the house had came across many things that had scared him a lot, so he asked the help of magic experts from the academy to help him out.

Ghosts were not uncommon in the world and were considered to be a part of the undead subspecies. They were also considered to have a connection with the spirit race. But the creation of a regular undead was quite common while the creation of a ghost spirit was extremely uncommon.

Lopas was a big fan of things related to ghosts. For some reason she had always found them to be intriguing. That was the reason why as soon as she found a mission related to ghosts, she accepted it immediately.

...

They reached the Hoan city after flying for five to six hours. Then after entering the city, they first went to meet with the owner of the house who was the quest giver.

The quest giver was a man in his early fifties. He looked quite rich from the way he was dressed and he told Rein that he had many houses in this city. He had a business related to real estates so it made sense that he had many houses.

Recently he had bought a very expensive property that was over a thousand year old. According to the previous owner of the house and his own research, a magus might have lived their a long time ago. That was the reason why he had spend a lot of money to buy that house.

But when he went to inspect the house thoroughly after buying it, he suddenly found that many things in the house were suddenly floating or disappearing. Not only that but he had also seen spirit like figures floating around.

Before asking the academy's help, he had actually asked a local exorcist for help. But that exorcist had failed and had not managed to find any ghost. But at the same time he had said that he was sure this this house had ghosts as their signs were everywhere.

At first the quest giver was a bit disappointed after seeing how young Rein, Luna and Lopas were. But after knowing who they were and the fact that two of them were rank 4 mage, he had no more complaints. Having a rank 4 mage taking up his mission was a fortune that he should be grateful about.

After learning all the relevant details about the case, Rein decided that they should take a look at the house first before starting their investigation. Lopas was extremely interested to check it out and was hoping that she would be able to see a real ghost there.

As for Luna, she asked the quest giver old man to collect all the information he had about the house in question. If there was really a ghost, then knowing the history of the house would be important to find the source of the ghost.

...

The house in question was location in the outskirts of the city but there was a reason for that. The area that this house covered was insane and it would impossible to find such a large area inside the main city. The house itself was super large but the garden beside the house was even larger. Their was a even a medium sized pond in the garden.

Lopas was expecting a scary looking place, so she was a bit disappointed that the house looked very simple from the outside. But even she had to admit the this house was definitely very imposing. Rein was so impressed by it that he was actually thinking about buying it.

But before that they needed to investigate it for the ghost. But with the size of the place, finding something like that would be extremely troublesome. Rein did try to use his spatial sense to see if he could find the ghost but he was not successful. But that was something he had expected before.

As the ghosts were actually spirit bodies, they took almost no space. So the space affinity related searching magic was not good against them. Rein could try to search for their mana signal, but this house was made using magical technology, so it had so many mana signals that distinguishing a ghost was almost impossible.

So for the time being, Rein and his girls decided to start their investigation from the areas where the quest giver had found ghostly activities.

So would their really be a ghost in this large mansion ?
