The Face Genius Actor

Episode 162

Episode 162

Tanya was a foreign fan who joined Syrup after watching “Toema Hwan Ya Dam” Season 1.

Now, with fans from so many different countries claiming to be Si-joon’s fans,

The expression “foreign fan” felt a bit inappropriate, but that’s how it was anyway.

And today, like Syrup users worldwide, Tanya was waiting for the second teaser of “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos”.

‘Just 11 minutes left… The second teaser will be released soon. Just be patient a little longer.’

Tanya comforted herself and recalled the first teaser released a few months ago.

The first teaser was a huge hit.

Not only the Syrup users worldwide who had been eagerly waiting for the teaser but also ordinary movie fans went crazy.

The reason the first teaser received good reviews was simple.

It was a video that highlighted Si-joon’s crazy good looks, which was the reason she became a fan of Si-joon.

Si-joon looking out the window with a melancholic expression while drunk.

Si-joon reciting the Lord’s Prayer in a room filled with cigarette smoke.

And Si-joon pulling out a dagger and a gun with a fierce expression.

It was truly a perfect teaser in every way.

Just the release of the teaser increased the number of fans joining Syrup.

Because of this, expectations for “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” increased.

This expectation naturally led to worries about the quality of the second teaser.

There were concerns that the second teaser might receive poor reviews because the first teaser was so well-made.

The saying goes, “The greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment.”

She just hoped this saying wouldn’t apply to the second teaser video.

This was also why Tanya was anxiously anticipating the second teaser video.

‘It’ll be fine. There was news that part of the battle scene would appear in the second teaser.’

Finally, when it became midnight US time amidst the tension,

The second teaser for “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” was released, and Tanya was immersed in the video.

Amazing visuals.

Overwhelming battle scenes.

Si-joon’s acting encompassing it all.

Tanya covered her mouth with both hands, feeling like an exclamation might burst out.

Living alone, it wouldn’t matter if anyone heard her exclamation.

She just couldn’t allow her voice to mix with the second teaser.

Tanya watched the video more than ten times before finally seeming satisfied and moving away from the computer.

Then she let out a low sigh.

It wasn’t because she was hit with reality.

It was a sigh of satisfaction that she could exhale because it was so satisfying.

‘As many people predicted…’

The second teaser included multiple battle scenes.

But that didn’t mean Si-joon’s appearance wasn’t included.

If the first teaser had a static feel, the second teaser had a strong dynamic feel.

Si-joon shooting a gun and swinging a dagger at demons.

Si-joon rolling on the floor to avoid a flaming greatsword.

Si-joon steeling his resolve to fight with a wound on his cheek.

These scenes could be seen in the second teaser.

‘Si-joon oppa was cool wielding the Gwichamdoe and throwing talismans in hanbok, but…’

She thought Si-joon shooting a gun, swinging a greatsword, and bleeding in a white shirt was also cool.

For some people, this might be more to their taste.

Especially foreign fans like herself would be more familiar with this culture.

Of course, that didn’t mean Tanya preferred “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” over “Toema Hwan Ya Dam”.

Tanya’s preference was subtly in favor of “Toema Hwan Ya Dam”.

‘It might change after the movie is released. By the way, when the official merchandise goes on sale, I’ll probably spend a lot of money again?’

Tanya thought this, excluding the option of not buying merchandise.

It seemed she wasn’t the only one thinking this way, as the comments below the second teaser video were going crazy.

-Wow…. What is this?

-Last time he surprised me by just standing still, this time he does it while moving OMG

-It suddenly occurs to me that Lee Si-joon handles action scenes well

-He was amazing in Toema Hwan Ya Dam too…. A gun and a dagger, so thrilling!

-His face is dynamic, so everything just feels fun lol

-Can he be this sexy just with a white shirt soaked in blood?

-Sacred seems like a work where we can properly appreciate Lee Si-joon’s decadent charm that we could only see in photoshoots before

-Ah…. I’ll give you my bank account, please release more of the video

-But isn’t this revealing all the essence in the teaser?

-As a fan, I’m a bit worried…. but oppa probably knew what he was doing

-I’m from the future, don’t worry, the actual movie is even more interesting

-Now there’s an expectation that Lee Si-joon’s works will at least be above average

-He hasn’t had a failed work since his debut lol If this succeeds too, it’ll be legendary….

-What are you worried about;; Just the combined views of the first and second teasers already indicate success

The comments showed tremendous expectations.

Looking at the comments, Tanya suddenly felt anxious again.

So she put her hands together and started praying.

‘Please. Make our oppa’s work interesting. It’s okay if it’s average, and I’d be so happy if it’s above average.’

With Si-joon’s looks and popularity, the movie would avoid failure if it just turned out average.

While she was praying earnestly, something felt strange.

The cross she had seen in the second teaser video suddenly came to mind, but then only Si-joon’s face started appearing.

‘Why is it oppa’s face instead of God’s…’

Thinking this, Tanya soon realized something and nodded.

For her, Si-joon was God.

* * *

The first and second teaser videos drew an enormous response as soon as they were released.

And the response was mostly positive.

It showed how many people were looking forward to “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” due to the influence of “Toema Hwan Ya Dam”.

Of course, some people thought the videos showed too much of the essence, but that wasn’t true.

In my opinion, there were many better scenes that could be considered the essence.

Especially, “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” had many memorable lines.

And these memorable lines couldn’t all be included in the teaser videos that needed to make an impact in a short time.

Only a small part appeared for continuity.

Also, this movie had many killing parts that couldn’t be included in the teaser videos.

Even for the battle scenes, all the parts that could be considered the core were missing.

Frank Borodvin, true to his reputation as a recognized Hollywood blockbuster director, put considerable effort into the battle scenes.

Come to think of it, even before the regression, the action scenes of the “Sacred” sequel were evaluated as not bad.

I even thought that if we could have filmed “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” first, the completeness of the battle scenes in “Toema Hwan Ya Dam” might have been higher.

Frank Borodvin’s battle scene filming techniques had so much to learn from.

I could realize anew why it’s important to work with an excellent director.

If I had been intoxicated by continuous success and kept writing and directing works in the same way, there would have been output without input.

‘I should consider more actively appearing in works by other directors and writers as an actor…’

I was thinking this while standing in front of the camera.

Frank Borodvin, who was reviewing the last part of “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” we had just filmed, gave the OK sign.

“That’s a wrap for our movie! Good work everyone!”

“Everyone worked hard!”

“Let’s see each other again soon!”

As I approached, exchanging greetings with the on-site staff, Frank Borodvin showed me the footage.

The footage felt somewhat empty, probably because everything except important props was filmed with a blue screen.

But I could be satisfied because I could fully imagine what kind of scene it would be once CGI was added.

Above all, in my case, it was possible to experience the scene in advance with the method mask.

The action scene we filmed today seemed to have turned out quite well in terms of quality.

‘I was worried about how the filming would go since this scene symbolizes the mass appeal of this movie so clearly, but thankfully it turned out well.’

This scene was something I had suggested to Frank Borodvin to modify before signing the appearance contract.

Originally, “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” didn’t have scenes of fighting in crowded cities.

Perhaps because it was a work based on ‘exorcism’, battles often took place in alleys or empty lots in sparsely populated areas of the city.

It created a somewhat lonely feeling.

But to me, “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” was a dark-toned superhero movie.

And one of the most interesting scenes in a superhero movie, in my opinion, was a battle scene in front of many people.

Since there wasn’t such a scene in “Sacred” Part 1, I thought it would be good to include one, and fortunately, Frank Borodvin accepted this opinion.

Frank Borodvin also felt that such an action scene was necessary as the overall tone of “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” had changed.

Certainly, the “Sacred” sequel was no longer a work for maniacs.

Part 3, which was being gradually discussed as “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” was going smoothly, was also planned to continue this atmosphere.

The content of the newly planned Part 3 was that angels and demons, which were known only as rumors in Part 2, become known worldwide, and Yerom steps forward to fight.

The battle scene we filmed today was born from this long-term perspective, and the filming ended satisfactorily.

We had postponed this filming to the end due to the importance of the scene, and it was fortunate that the result turned out well.

“Now, scenes of Yerom’s battle being broadcast in real-time will be added to this footage, right?”

“Yes. Those scenes have already been filmed and will be inserted in the middle of the action scenes or shown together.”

I nodded, thinking I hoped the completed version with CGI would arrive soon.

Fortunately, about two-thirds of the editing for “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” was already completed.

“So now it’s goodbye until the work promotion schedule.”

“That’s right. Thank you for your hard work, actor. But, if it’s alright…”

“Yes?”

“Would it be okay if I contact you occasionally in between? I’d like to show you the edited versions first.”

I was already in frequent contact with Frank Borodvin in this way.

So I didn’t think there would be no contact just because filming had ended.

I thought he would contact me as usual, but Frank Borodvin seemed to be concerned about this.

I shrugged as if to say what’s the problem and answered.

“Ah. Of course. Feel free to contact me anytime.”

Thus, the filming of “Sacred: Prelude to Chaos” was finally completed.

And for several months.

While resting and occasionally checking the edited versions Frank Borodvin sent, the date for the promotional tour approached.

It was a large-scale tour schedule starting in Korea and ending in the United States.
