Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Kudo Ryoha
Chapter 1: Kudo Ryoha
Konoha Village, Ninja Academy.
At this moment, it was already after school hours, and all the students in Class A had buzzed out, either heading out in groups or being picked up by their parents. Only one solitary figure lingered behind, a seemingly ordinary little fellow—Kudo Ryoha.
It wasn't that Kudo Ryoha didn't want to leave with the other kids; rather, no one was willing to pay attention to the bottom of the class. That's right, our protagonist is him, Kudo Ryoha. A person who had crossed over from the 21st century to the world of Naruto, Ryoha had arrived in this world six years ago.
Unfortunately, Kudo Ryoha had no bloodline limits or so-called clan secret techniques. Over these past few years, Ryoha had been muddling through life. In his previous life, he was an orphan who had never experienced the love of a father or mother. In this life, Ryoha vowed to protect his parents dearly.
The primary setback, and the most significant, came during these years when Kudo Ryoha devoted himself to training chakra. That's right, ever since he crossed over to the Naruto world.
Although Ryoha was fortunate to have arrived in Konoha Village, it didn't mean he was safe. The later bosses in the Naruto timeline are all capable of worldwide devastation, and Konoha has been flattened several times.
Therefore, familiar with the progression of events, Ryoha knew the earlier he trained, the better it would be. Kakashi graduated at five, became a Chūnin at six, and a Jōnin at twelve!
Of course, those are prodigy-level individuals, and Ryoha naturally couldn't compare, but at least he thought he should not be too far behind. The fact was, however, that Ryoha didn't think too much beyond that.
But it wasn't until Ryoha successfully cultivated his first trace of chakra that he discovered a significant problem. No, his chakra would never accumulate normally like anyone else's; instead, it would just vanish overnight after he'd tread some progress.
At that time, the Second Shinobi World War was in full swing, and his parents tried many methods, even pulling strings to find a highly regarded doctor at Konoha Hospital.
However, none of these efforts solved the problem. Although Ryoha didn't fully understand what was wrong with his body, he tried scientific methods to prove where his hard-earned chakra was going. The results were very frustrating; he simply couldn't find an answer.
After attempting thousands of different approaches, Ryoha ceased all those reckless experiments and returned to a mundane life. Fortunately, unlike the Mist Village, Konoha was a relatively safe place. Otherwise, Ryoha would have long been at the mercy of his classmates.
Being unable to become someone who could control his destiny, Ryoha eventually accepted his lot. He stopped struggling until this moment.
Packing his belongings and strapping on his backpack, Kudo Ryoha exited the Ninja Academy. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow on the Hokage Rock. Ryoha silently gazed at the giant stone faces.
"Hey Ryoha, let's burn the fires of youth together! How about we run 500 laps around the playground!" A little guy wearing a green vest with shiny black hair yelled at Ryoha.
That's right; this person was Kudo Ryoha's one and only friend at the academy—Might Guy. Perhaps it was their natural "resistance" to chakra that quickly facilitated their friendship in school.
Of course, Might Guy's enthusiasm didn't move Ryoha. It wasn't that Ryoha didn't want to participate; it was just that he didn't possess Guy's special personality and charisma.
If everyone could achieve greatness through diligent body technique training as Guy had, then Konoha, with its Forbidden Technique of the Eight Gates, would have long dominated the whole Naruto world.
From ancient times until now, only Might Guy and his father, Might Duy (who could only be considered half), had become strong enough to be comparable to a Kage purely by relying on taijutsu, almost leading to a different outcome in battle.
Therefore, after earnestly following Might Guy's training for three months, Kudo Ryoha sank back into mediocrity (or rather, he fell into decline), yet every day, Guy persistently tried to awaken his only friend's spirit at the Ninja Academy.
At that moment, Ryoha was fed up with the "care" he received from other classmates at the academy, and a single voice echoed in his mind: Why! Why can't I gather chakra! Unfortunately, the heavens gave no answer to Ryoha.
Understanding this, Ryoha kindly nodded and said, "Guy, you should go ahead with your physical training. I'll skip it today." Though Ryoha wore a smile, Guy could see through to the sadness in his heart.
So, he simply nodded in understanding, saying, "Whenever Ryoha figures things out, come find me. I believe that through the burning passion of youth, you can definitely break this limitation!" At that moment, Guy's demeanor was drastically different from his usual flamboyant, spirited self.
"Please forgive me, Father. Seeing him brings back memories of my own childhood. Back then, I was furious and full of complaints, but I broke free. Why can't a taijutsu user become a legendary figure known throughout the ninja world? I will not disappoint my father's teachings and expectations!" Guy seemed resolute, gazing steadfastly at Ryoha.
Ryoha sensed something different behind Guy's gaze, but he didn't think too deeply about what might have triggered such a change in him. Nevertheless, he waved goodbye to Guy and strolled towards the legendary Ichiraku Ramen.
Indeed, since he'd arrived in the Naruto world, a visit to Ichiraku Ramen was a must. In the past, Kudo Ryoha frequently dined there, as his mother was a special jōnin while his father was quite ordinary, merely a typical jōnin.
Though his parents couldn't afford extravagant meals regularly, they could certainly manage a bowl of ramen every now and then. Today, just like any other day, he slowly jogged to the Ichiraku stall, shouting to the uncle, "Hey, Uncle, one bowl of extra-flavor pork ramen!"
"Coming right up, little Ryoha!" the cheerful ramen chef replied, his hands moving quickly. The inviting aroma wafting from the shop filled the air, and before Ryoha could savor it, a steaming bowl of ramen was delivered to him.
"Enjoy your meal!"
Moments later, Ryoha polished off a large bowl of extra-flavor pork ramen. The bowl was filled with an abundance of pork, which was probably the chef's special attentive treatment for him.
After placing the empty bowl back on the counter, Ryoha said, "Thank you for the meal, Uncle." Reaching into his small wallet, he paid for the ramen, wished the chef farewell, and ran home.
