…
The ‘Solomon Window’ indeed showed me the list of Solomon demons I could summon and the required Worldview Causality for each.
I slowly went through the list.
The list had hundreds of names, and I now understood why it took three days to compile.
‘Roberto is 200… So, the needed Worldview Causality varies based on their influence.’
I didn’t worry too much about this, as it was within my expectations.
“These can wait…”
For now, I decided not to summon Roberto, Lezie, or Alter later, as I already have abilities based on their characteristics.
Besides, I was short on points.
I planned to summon them in the order that was most useful to me.
Each of the Legion Commanders had distinct traits, so I didn’t have to worry about who to summon.
However, I didn’t need any of the Commanders at the moment. I needed someone who could assist me in other ways.
Luckily, I had already thought about who that would be, and I could summon them right now.
I didn’t hesitate.
“Spend 50 Worldview Causality.”
[‘Solomon’s Demon King, Lee Seo-Jun’ distorts ’50’ units of the worldview.]
“Summon Chief Secretary ‘Hyude’.”
[‘Chief Secretary Hyude’ responds to the summoning of ‘Solomon’s Demon King’.]
Kiiik-
A crack darker than the night sky appeared.
It contained the universe.
As if ink had spread on a black canvas, amethyst galaxies shimmered, and numerous giant stars filled the void with light.
Nevertheless,
The immense universe bestowed a sense of awe on those who saw it.
Soon, with a noisy sound, the portal changed to white. Two worlds that normally wouldn’t meet were connected as space folded.
From between the connected gaps, a long leg stepped out.
Step, step-.
A formal but muted, smoothly walking pace.
Every time that resounding hum was heard, a bit more of Hyude’s figure was revealed. He wore a neat butler uniform appropriate for a chief of Secretary, with his black hair tied back. The faint wrinkles on his face exuded toughness. Hyude’s loyal gaze turned toward me. A few strands of hair hung down on his forehead, and a large scar on one eye gave him an unmistakable ferocity. A middle-aged male demon butler, Hyude. He bowed to his noble master.
“In humble respect, I greet you, my Demon King,”
Hyude slightly lifted his head. A soft, moonlight-like smile stretched across his face.
“It’s been a long time, Demon King.”
We hadn’t seen each other’s faces for just three days. But it felt as if it had been much longer.
I smiled back. “It has been a while, Hyude.”
“Thank you for finding me. How have you been? I’ve been worried every day that you might be facing discomfort in your life.”
Hyude clenched a hand that was placed over his chest. His extremely respectful attitude and tone were proof that my life in the Solomon demon realm wasn’t a dream.
“As you can see, I’m perfectly fine. In fact, I’ve become even more powerful. I can handle Magi now.”
I activated [Magic Condensation] in one hand, revealing an existence more vivid than even the brightest full moon.
“Wow! Truly, your Magi is dazzlingly excellent! Your stature has indeed risen even further, Demon King!”
“Well, it is what it is.” I chuckled at Hyude’s fuss over a trivial matter and withdrew the Magi.
Hyude bowed deeply. “Congratulations! You were already powerful, and now you can handle the Magi you so desired. When others hear of this, they will surely be delighted!”
I imagined how the others would react, seeing how Hyude was. I then got to the point. “Well, enough of that. I have something I want to ask you.”
“Please, ask away.”
“You will now be living in this place called Earth rather than in the Solomon demon realm. Do you have any objections? And be honest.”
A concern that had been bothering me. I had to spend a long 6,666 years in the Solomon demon realm, which was annoying and frustrating. Now, I was summoning the Solomon demons to Earth. In other words, I was subjecting them to the same situation. If they didn’t want this, I had no intention of summoning them forcefully.
“I have no objections whatsoever,” Hyude gently smiled. “True, this place is extremely different from where I have lived until now, but that doesn’t matter at all.”
“It doesn’t matter?”
“Yes, the Solomon demon realm is just where I was born, not where I must necessarily be. Where I should be is by your side, Demon King, even if that means being in another world.” I silently watched Hyude. Using [Lezie’s Insight], I confirmed that he was telling the truth.
“I am truly happy that you have come to find me again. And this won’t be just me. Roberto, Lezie, Alter, the legion commanders, and all the other Solomon demons will feel the same. They might even be jealous of me now.” Hyude gave a slight chuckle and bowed.
“The place where we should be is always where you, the Demon King, are. So, please don’t worry about it and call us. Everyone is waiting for their reunion with you.”
I looked up at the sky.
The elegant moonlight enveloped my whole body, and a cool breeze gently caressed my skin.
As expected, due to the difference in our races, I couldn’t understand their thought processes.
Abandoning their homeland just because I am on Earth. Even after 6666 years, their behavior remains unpredictable.
“Is that so.”
“Yes.”
I lowered my head to look at Hyude.
A faint smile rode the wind, brushing against my lips.
“Understood. From now on, I will summon you all without any burden.”
“A wise decision, Your Majesty.”
Hyude showed devout respect.
Then he knelt on one knee before me.
“Then Your Majesty, what is the task I should undertake next? I must have been chosen first for a reason.”
“Hmm, that’s accurate.”
Typical Hyude. I like how quickly he gets to the point.
I ordered Hyude.
“Hyude, your role going forward is to be my ‘manager’ and ‘accountant’.”
That may change later on, but for now, what Hyude could do for me was to be a ‘manager’ and ‘accountant’.
I could entrust these tasks to other experts, but I can’t trust the others.
On the other hand, Hyude is absolutely loyal to me, and most importantly, there is undoubtedly no one more competent than Hyude.
I roughly explained to Hyude what those roles entail.
“Hmm, so being an accountant involves managing taxes that go to the state. I don’t understand why Your Majesty has to pay taxes, but it’s probably because you haven’t conquered this world yet.”
That’s not it. It’s just because I’m a South Korean citizen.
But there’s no need to explain that in detail.
“Now I understand why you summoned me instead of Roberto. You obviously couldn’t entrust these mundane tasks to him. I, Hyude, vow to fulfill Your Majesty’s orders with my lowly body.”
“Alright, I’ll watch.”
If it’s Hyude, he could probably finish studying accounting in about a week. Many from the Maine tribe are intelligent, but Hyude particularly has a lot of abilities related to the brain.
Fast calculation, memory transmission, etc.
“Until we move, you will stay in my house.”
“Such, such a great honor! I am deeply grateful!”
“It’s not that big of a deal. Well, we’ll talk again when the sky turns blue.”
“What? The sky turns blue? What kind of magical world…!”
I can’t talk with him if he’s surprised by every little thing. If he sees the photos on my smartphone, he would probably go crazy.
But it’s Hyude; he’ll probably adapt to most things in about a day.
“You’ll find out when you see it. Let’s move now.”
“Yes, I will attend to you.”
***
And so, I walked off with Hyude.
Hyude and I returned home. It already feels cramped with just one more adult male.
I need to move as soon as possible.
Hyude looked around and said,
“Is this the place where I have to adapt?”
“Yes.”
Hyude was fascinated as he explored various interesting items, and I quietly gave him time to adjust.
Beep-beep—
The sound of someone entering the password rang out, and someone entered.
Come to think of it, Lee Seo-Yeon had been sleeping at my place because reporters kept coming to her house. The reporters can’t get to me.
But how will three people sleep in this small space?
Hyude doesn’t get cold, so I should lay down a blanket for him and have him sleep on the rooftop, in good conscience.
Lee Seo-yeon found me standing at the entrance and spoke.
“Ah, Seo-jun, I brought some underwear and toiletries home. I’ll be imposing on you for a while.”
“You wench!!! How impudent!!!”
A booming voice echoed through the house.
Hyude, who had been looking around the fridge, witnessed the current situation.
Hyude’s face twisted with anger, and between the lines of his expression, fury was etched.
“How dare you casually call the noble Demon King by name! Even Ms. Lezie has never mentioned His Majesty’s name!”
As Hyude strode forward, Lee Seo-yeon shrank back.
Hyude pulled out a whip from his arms. It was not an ordinary whip, but a living creature called a ‘Whip Demon’.
It was mostly black, and at the tip of the whip were sharp fangs.
…I forgot to warn about this. That’s my oversight.
I sighed and intervened.
“Hyude.”
“Your Majesty, forgive me for speaking, but this is not a matter to be taken lightly! While I may let some things slide, this incident cannot be tolerated!”
“Hyude.”
Don’t cross that line.
“This is a matter related to Your Majesty’s dignity! It cannot be overlooked!”
“Hyude, calm down.”
“You may charge me with insubordination later! I will tear this rude wench apart even if it costs me my life!”
Lee Seo-yeon trembled and hid behind me. Hyude’s eyes flared like the fires of hell.
I calmly intervened.
“Hyude, this wench you want to tear apart right now is—”
A voice coldly flowed.
Hyude faced me, still unable to suppress his anger.
I met his gaze calmly and continued my sentence.
“She’s my sister.”
