The Pompous Heiress Strikes Back!

Chapter 4: She's Back!

Patricia's POV

Finally seeing daylight for the first time in a while as a free person, I felt like shedding a couple of happy tears.

Liam lived up to his name and made it happen. I had no idea what he did but minutes after our conversation, the same police officers that treated me like garbage began to lick my feet. I mustered a strained smile as I was leaving with him.

Now that I was out, I would make sure to deal with them.

Patricia Lynn was back!

"Where are we going?" I sat down at the back seat of a black Cadillac Escalade, with Liam. He was on his phone the whole time, so it was clear that I interrupted what he was doing. He kept his phone inside the top pocket of his suit and replied to me.

"To my mansion. We need to get you comfortable first before we can think of the next course of action. I would like to invite you to see my board of directors in my company tomorrow."

I heaved a sigh, bored out of my mind. I never expected to be out so quickly so I never thought I would do what I was about to do.

"Turn the car around." I requested like I wasn't a damsel in distress, talking to Liam in particular. I was supposed to be terrified of him and I was, but I still had to do what I had to do. We were in partnership anyway.

"What?" He choked out a reply, clearly shocked.

"I said, turn the car around." I hated when I had to repeat myself to my staff but now, there was nothing I could do but maintain a calm voice.

"Where to?" He sounded defeated, which was supposedly unlike what I've heard about him. I expected him to refuse and drag me to his mansion anyway.

"Just turn around. I would like to put the address of the location into the car system. It's one of my properties."

"Properties?"

I winked at him. "Yes."

Half an hour later, we arrived. I stepped down from the car and Liam followed me as we walked into the empty expanse of land.

"You own this? What are we doing here, in the middle of nowhere?" His eyes scanned the place, and it was clear that he was confused as he literally wore his confusion on his face.

"You know when I said I hit rock bottom? I lied. I'm not as poor as you think, so I don't need your money, Liam, and I won't be going to your mansion."

I watched as his eyebrows tried to climb impossibly high on his forehead and laughed. My first genuine laugh since the whole ordeal. I knew he was shocked.

Reaching the very middle of the field, he watched as I used my foot to clear the dust and sand on the earth before reaching out to remove a worn out rug that had blended with it.

Underneath it was an underground room. He had a puzzled look on his face but I made a gesture with my hands, letting him know that I wanted him to come with me.

When we reached the bottom of the cave, I turned on the lights and the splash of gold that reflected on my face was everything.

He was clearly caught between a gasp and a stare, unsure of how to behave and I understood. Anyone would. I was supposed to be at my rock bottom but inside this room were endless gold bars resting beautifully on shelves.

I trusted my husband enough to make sure he didn't sign a prenup, but I definitely wasn't stupid. I made sure to save. Now, these gold bars and wads of cash were going to save and make me reach the top again slowly.

"You have all this…" His voice trailed off.

"Just how rich are you?" He looked stunned.

"Well, I'm not that rich anymore so it doesn't matter." I made a face, showing annoyance but he didn't look impressed at all.

The money from the gold bars were enough to feed three generations of people comfortably but for me, it was nothing.

"My husband is the owner of this land now and would probably do what he likes with it once he finds it and I won't allow that. It's very important to me. I brought you here to help me take the money out of here."

As I walked past him, he suddenly grabbed me by my wrist and pulled me to him. I gasped at the close proximity and looked up to meet his penetrating gaze. My sudden ragged breathing surprised me.

"Why should I take orders from you, Princess? You're super feisty and bossy, you know that?" He looked offended but as I stared at his lips, I wanted to bite it.

The hell?

"Well, that's Patricia for you, now do as I asked." I forced myself out of his grip before I could go ahead with my impulsive thoughts.

I instantly knew that I wouldn't last with this man.

....

THE LYNN CORPORATION.

My pink corporate dress did justice to the impression I was trying to give. I held a couple of documents in my hand as I walked into my former company that my husband stole for me.

I was a free person, but no one knew that. It wasn't on the news, and now, they would all find out. I was there for blood, for war and one of us would lose, but it won't be me.

I got rid of my designer glasses and walked in with Liam's bodyguards behind me.

They were all armed with well sculpted muscles so I was definitely safe. Walking in, there was a sudden uproar, whispers growing so loud they even wafted into my ears.

"It's Patricia Lynn!"

"The heiress! What is she doing here?"

I had one goal in mind; to trash my husband, and this one the first step.

As I took the elevators shamelessly, I was sure he knew I was coming. He was probably shaking in his seat like the fucking loser that he was.

The minute I walked into his office, I realized that news definitely traveled slow.

I watched his next breath get caught in his throat. Turning white, he wiped a bead of sweat from his face. At this point, he was as pale as a ghost. I looked around, and I couldn't find Quinn anywhere. He was seated on my desk like he could ever do what I had been doing for years.

I let out a mocking laugh at the audacity. Soon, he mustered up a few words as I stalked to his desk, well, my desk.

"You! How are you here? He glared like he had seen a ghost.

"How did you get out?" He continued to bark, his voice clearly wavering.

"You don't get it, do you?" I laughed hysterically, removing the contents of the document I brought and slamming it on the table. Hitting my fist on it viciously, I watched as his panic increased to complete fear.

"Sign the fucking divorce papers!"
