The Price of Divinity

Chapter 10: Revolution

Nala, sitting down with her legs crossed, ordered everyone to sit down. The rich sit on her left side and the rebels on her right side. Nala's body started to feel the effects of the overexertion of her abilities. Feeling a little bit dizzy, she maintained her strong presence to negotiate.

"Everyone, today we will create a new era in our continent. The discrimination by money will end. I am not here to be the leader, but if anyone starts to discriminate and separate people, I will make sure you will be gently punished." Nala uses a large amount of the energy left to make sure no one tries to fight against her.

"The rich will begin to construct new infrastructure for the poor. In addition, there will be a huge investment in both farming and education. Everyone will be tolerated, no matter their backgrounds, religion, or views. You will live together in harmony. The rich can stay rich but without exploiting the poor." Nala's legs start shaking due to how little energy she has left.

"My name is John. I am the leader of the poor. May I propose another thing? I mean, if you don't agree, I won't say anything." John, trembling, raised his hand.

"What do you wish to propose? Don't worry; I won't do anything." Nala understands that continuing to move at that speed will deplete her energy reserves.

"I wish for you to look into the plague that is damaging our children and our crops. We could barely sustain ourselves, but now we are at a point where we won't be able to survive for another year." John started seeing the flashbacks of all the people he cared about dying of hunger.

"Don't worry; we will try our best to find the cause of the plague and eliminate it. Am I right?" Nala stared directly at the rich.

They all collectively shook their heads, not daring to even try and refute her claims for fear of bodily harm or death.

The meeting proceeded smoothly; there was very little disagreement between both parties. Hostility was still interchanged from both parties, yet no one dared to challenge Nala. Nala's body began to shut down from overexertion. She managed to maintain her image until the meeting ended.

"That is a wrap; everyone, please leave. Tomorrow we will begin this new era. Now shoo" Nala is on the verge of passing.

After the last person left, Nala's body couldn't resist how tired it was. Passing out the next second. The room became pitch black, totally silent. The entire palace was silent; every one that resided there was shut in their rooms. Not a single soul was roaming around the hallways. Nala sleeping with her legs crossed, hands on her cheeks with the notes around her disappearing. The pathway that she created was eliminated. The only evidence of her powers is her hair and the note-shaped pupils.

Note went back to the room. Note was very happy with the ending of the scenario, yet he was confused as to why he was standing beside the green star. Normally, every time he gets back to the room, he stares directly at the giant five-pointed star; now that star is behind him.

"Huh." Note is dumbfounded about why he sees Nala's hair floating in the room.

The more he looked at her body, the more he realized that he was Nala. Now even more confused about how she managed to enter, maybe because of him. Note couldn't point out what the requirements for entering the room were.

Nala touched the star, and the color suddenly changed to the color of her hair. Noticing the change, she was transported back into her body. This time there was no pull. It all felt like a gust of wind passed through her body.

Waking up, Nala looked at the clock to see that she had been asleep for about twelve hours. Her body is now back to her best, but her capacity to use the ability she used was only fifteen percent of the max she can do. The room was the same as she fell asleep in. Nothing was moved, and no one entered; it was all the same.

Nala stood up, walked towards the window, and opened the curtain to be surprised by the rich kids giving away their toys to kids who would evaluate them. A smile formed on Nala's face; her hard work paid off. People are starting to change; the children are the ones most excited to have more friends and to have more room to explore outside the small place they have never left.

Nala let out a sigh due to how people of an older age find it hard to socialize and deal with such a drastic change. They still maintain their high ego, not coming to the realization that things are going to change. Change won't be fast, but it was already destined to happen. Nala was just the last sting to make the entire exploitation collapse.

Nala looked down and saw that the trail she left was no longer there. In the reflection of the mirror, her hair still maintained its color from her transformation. Nala was very happy to see this new change in history yet felt alone. Like someone who made this possible to leave her. She instinctively thought of her father, but they never had a close relationship, never seeing eye to eye on the issues in their districts.

Nala, for the longest time, was seen as the heir to the district due to her amazing leadership and strength; not even in one thousand years did she think that she would be a revolutionary. On the corner of her eyes, she saw kids playing with action figures. They looked up and waved at her with such a large smile it changed Nala's whole demeanor. Realizing that people will no longer suffer in the place she calls home.

Nala closed the curtains, turned around, and sat in a fetal position. Tears of joy flowed out of her eyes. The lights become dimmer, Nala wiping away her tears that flowed out like Niagara Falls. Nala's crying wasn't an ugly cry; she still looked beautiful. Her cries represented something deep inside of her being satisfied.

Nala felt more relaxed after crying to her heart's content. The feeling of loneliness still resided. A feeling of something touching her shoulder made her realize that she wasn't alone, that there was always someone guiding her, granting her the ability to make this change.

"Thank you, Note."
