The story of how I, who became the beloved child of Winter Fenrir, was healed from despair

Ch77 - Last Epilogue [Michela's Arc] [Winter Fenrir Epilogue: 7]

Chapter 77: Last Epilogue [Michela’s Arc]

[Winter Fenrir Epilogue: 7]

(Perspective of Michela)

The venue for the World Conference is an island floating in the middle of the vast ocean.

Though it appears to be just a floating speck, its area is comparable to that of a great imperial land.

The towering mountains are rounded like a turtle’s shell, lined with trees that have yellow leaves, resembling a sun submerged in the sea.

The coastline is surrounded by a grand harbor, bustling with multicultural shops. The colorful flags fluttering in the wind create a scene that, once seen, is hard to forget.

This is the island of Hōnu-Manamari, where the summer beast, the Summer Turtle, resides.

“Once upon a time, a small ethnic group lived on a tropical island. The beast settled there, lifting the seabed dramatically. It gathered sunlight on its shell, causing sunflowers to bloom and enriching the land.”

“In the crescent-shaped island of Hōnu-Manamari, the beast is said to dwell in the inland sea. When its shell basks in the white sandy shallows, the golden light reflected makes the sun directly above Hōnu-Manamari shine even more beautifully. During summer, it appears as if a pillar of light pierces the sky from the island.”

—End of the folklore recap.

I closed the book with a sigh.

“…Phew. We’re almost there.”

I placed the book on the table and looked out towards the yellow island now visible in the distance, holding my white hat down. The sea breeze was strong, threatening to whisk it away, a result of the unstable spring winds.

…As I narrowed my icy eyes and concentrated my magic, the scene of the harbor town came into view.

Oh, the sailors in their uniforms stand out quite clearly.

“They have even secured a notable number of guards here at this grand harbor. No, they are soldiers… their solid physiques and precise movements exude confidence. I suppose they adjust their attire to maintain a balance in the scenery, so as not to intimidate merchants from other nations. This is indeed the central hub between various countries.”

Hōnu-Manamari has flourished as a crucial trading post among nations.

It has become a large nation, serving as a resting place for ships and a harbor for trade.

Though it occupies a perilous position, the presence of the summer beast ensures that it has never been invaded, according to the world agreement.

Thus, the island has a somewhat soft and peaceful atmosphere, which can be considered one of its charms.

“It’s a wonderful country! However, instead of easily idolizing it just because it’s a great nation, let us take pride in the Kingdom of Felsnow. Though small, we shall live strong and modestly like ice, on the land of snow.”

When I smiled and turned around, my homeland’s guards looked relieved.

Indeed, just because it’s my first expedition abroad, I won’t be so enthralled as to lose myself in another country.

Rest assured.

Lord Grea is passionately asserting that “the land where Fenrir resides is the pinnacle of excellence.”

That is indeed true.

As I gently caressed my blue nails and touched my bracelet, a cool, pleasant sensation spread through me.

We are the people of Felsnow.

“Lord Grea, you have participated in the World Conference before, haven’t you? Please guide me well.”

“What for? I’m just doing my job. Michela, you’re not looking for support, are you?”

“Yes. I am confident in silencing royalty at the conference. However… I’m unfamiliar with walking in foreign lands.”

Essentially, I wanted him to scold me for being too friendly and chatty with citizens while walking around, reminding me to maintain a clear distinction between my country and others.

My elder brother has always been quite adept at managing that.

Will I be able to do it?

I’ve often been described as quite curious…

“If I keep Kris as a standard for my caution, that will suffice. Understood.”

“Thank you very much.”

“You seem very determined, Michela.”

My father also came up onto the deck.

…He must be seasick; his complexion is poor.

Lord Grea offered my father some tree fruit he brought, which helped restore his condition.

“I-I am very grateful. I deeply appreciate your companionship on this voyage.”

“Because it was desired by Lord Fenrir. There’s no use holding back useful items; those feeling unwell should inform me. Please relay this to your subordinates, Your Majesty.”

“Thank you.”

“…You’re welcome.”

After saying that, Lord Grea entered the ship with my father.

As usual, unicorns can only heal women, but to think he would even share the fruits he received from El-sama…

He has really started to talk a lot, hasn’t he?

I feel like he has changed significantly since El-sama arrived.

Both he and I, and everyone else.

We have arrived at the harbor.

I saw many unfamiliar large sails fluttering, each showcasing the colors of different nations and shops.

The Felsnow Kingdom’s ship, the White Snow, features a white hull with blue sails.

I caught the curious gazes of various people, and I could hear whispers about the ship’s size, suggesting it was a “reflection of national strength.” Oh dear… The ship that crossed the northern sea is exceptionally sturdy, you know?

Some gazes also scrutinized me with suspicion.

“What happened to the prince?” the merchants whispered.

How delightful!

As I disembarked from the ship, I entrusted my coat to Lord Grea.

With my blue dress and icy shawl fluttering, I walked and captured the attention of the townsfolk.

Now, behold.

The beautiful blue of the Kingdom of Felsnow.

As I walked, snowflakes scattered like tiny pearls, and waves of magical energy emanated from my ice pumps, creating crystal patterns in the air. I enveloped myself in a rare chill for this town.

Here I go!!

Though my father smiled wryly at me, the first impression is everything.

I lifted the corners of my mouth.
