The story of how I, who became the beloved child of Winter Fenrir, was healed from despair

Ch79 - Last Epilogue [Michela's Arc] [Winter Fenrir Epilogue: 9]

Chapter 79: Last Epilogue [Michela’s Arc]

[Winter Fenrir Epilogue: 9]

(Perspective of Michela)

The meeting was finally here.

Would I be able to do it properly? Whenever my anxiety started to show, the cold touch of my fingertips and the bracelet offered me comfort.

I’m not alone.

I carry the weight of the Felsnow Kingdom and Lord Fenrir.

Oh, how reassuring this weight feels!

Stepping forward while feeling that weight, frost pillars appeared on the floor with a slight crunch.

Oh dear…

“Are you trying too hard?”

As Lord Grea sighed and took my hand, a soft healing magic flowed in, melting the frost away and lightening my body.

…There’s still much to come. I still have room to grow.

“I’m relieved to see that look in your eyes, Michela. Shall we proceed?”

“Yes!”

Lord Grea’s chilling dark eyes and deep voice were somehow reassuring.

I walked confidently, puffing out my chest, and entered the conference room!

The grand hall for the meeting was flooded with natural light streaming through the high yellow stained-glass windows.

It must be a tortoise shell pattern.

I found myself captivated by the beauty of the architecture, and the warm magic that filled the room made me feel as if it were already summer.

Two semicircular conference tables were set on either side, already surrounded by the kings and diplomats of other nations, who were waiting to welcome us.

My father had already taken his seat, gazing at us with a stern, tight expression.

Lord Grea and I walked along the path that ran between the tables, heading toward the table at the far end.

One of the four seasons with speaking rights this season would first give their report.

“Then, let us commence the Winter-Spring World Conference.”

Prince Kyle of Summer spoke up, his voice resonating throughout the hall.

“I will now provide the winter report.”

As I raised my voice, even whispers were silenced.

The diplomats began moving their pens and taking notes.

The sound of my voice echoed against the walls, allowing my words to reach every corner of the hall without straining my throat.

“This winter, the temperature has been steadily dropping, snow has fallen, water has frozen, and the land has been filled with winter magic. In the Felsnow Kingdom, the magical beasts have grown their winter coats, and as we welcome the warm spring, the meltwater nourishes the soil. I believe you all can feel that this has been an ideal winter.”

At this point, the diplomats began rubbing their chins.

They must be reflecting on their own winters.

I took a moment to breathe, then tightened the atmosphere.

“All of this is thanks to Lord Fenrir, the winter magical beast, regaining his strength.”

I heard the sound of someone gulping.

Attention turned to Lord Grea, the unicorn behind me.

When he nodded, murmurs of awe spread through the crowd.

“Now, I will explain what I mean by ‘regained strength.’ This is also the reason I am here. I was to be offered as the successor to Lord Fenrir, the winter princess of the Felsnow Kingdom, but…”

I extended my arm forward and created an icy art piece resembling a chandelier in the palm of my hand.

People gasped.

Indeed, I am a girl with the magical power meant to become the winter princess, not a fake.

“However, the one who became Lord Fenrir’s beloved daughter was a woman from another world. She has a greater affinity for the magical beasts than I do and possesses talent in ice magic. Her name is El… She entrusted part of her name to Lord Fenrir, successfully restoring him.”

Is that even possible? What happened to the guiding magic circle? The voices of disbelief began to circulate.

I noticed Prince of the Green Country clutching his chest.

“Silence! Let us first hear everything… Please, Michela.”

“Thank you, Prince Kyle. Currently, both Lady El, the winter princess, and Lord Fenrir are present in our kingdom. Lady El is a young magical wolf with immense magical power, and we can expect her to grow. Moreover, Lord Fenrir has fully regained his strength and is expected to live for another three hundred years.”

The air stirred with the concern that this could disrupt the balance of winter!

Wasn’t that what everyone had just experienced this year?

“I assure you that we will promise a stable winter like this year’s from next year onward. I stake the pride of the Felsnow Kingdom on it!”

I concluded my statement with a standard phrase.

We will do our utmost to protect winter.

Lord Grea’s nod was reassuring.

While the succession of the magical wolf Fenrir is different from before, I hope you can accept that a male Fenrir had maintained winter for three hundred years in the past, and this season has been stable.

When Prince Kyle asked if anyone had questions, many hands shot up.

Let’s answer them one by one.

Everyone had been asking about the state of winter, so I would respond with care.

Amidst this, a question that differed in tone arose.

“Lady El, the winter princess, is a person from another world, correct? Is there no danger? Is it not unstable…?”

This was something I had planned to explain in the next topic…

The prince of the Empire, isn’t he daring?

I smiled icily at him, and he chuckled lightly in return. He must have done that on purpose.

The powers of the great nations are terrifying, aren’t they? Very well.

(Michela! Oh, the next queen! It’s better not to make an enemy of the prince of the Empire. Instead of condemning him, just respond for now.)

Oh, Prince Kyle. Consideration is important, isn’t it? I understand.

When I smiled at him, his face twisted slightly. I wonder why?

“Regarding the other world. Everyone, occasionally rare ‘otherworldly treasures’ arrive in your countries, don’t they? This winter princess is one such treasure, having arrived as a living human.”

“Otherworld! What kind of place is it?”

The prince of the Empire sparkled with interest, pressing for more information.

“Don’t rush me!” I wanted to complain.

I… answered only vaguely about the dull aspects. It seems that their craftsmanship is more developed than magic, and there are many large buildings.

“If there’s no magic, that’s why Lady El could quickly absorb and become accustomed to the magical power of the magical wolf,” I thought, but I decided to keep that part hidden.

“Cultural differences are precisely why otherworldly treasures have such incomprehensible structures.”

“Yes. As for whether Lady El is unstable, it seems that the guarantee from the Felsnow Kingdom alone is not enough. Then, let us ask her directly to answer.”

*(Michela, you’re too dry!?) *Prince Kyle desperately gestured to me while I ignored him and snapped my fingers.

My earrings shone, and four ice-colored wings rose into the air.

The magic lines connected the corners, forming a thin sheet of ice.

What!? The gazes questioned me, so I raised my voice.

Time for an impact!

“Thanks to the assistance of the Fairy King Oberon and the Fairy Queen Titania!”

The sound of fairy laughter echoed, and the image of a silver-haired beautiful girl appeared on the icy surface.

“Caaah! Lady El!”
