The Villainous Young Master’s Life in Another World

chapter 22

Gu Ming who had spent the night without sleep finally welcomed the first ray of morning light.

“What a sin! What’s blocking my eyes? And what kept me awake all night?”

The two girls beside him slowly opened their drowsy eyes under the sunlight.

Mia who was lying on Gu Ming lazily rubbed her eyes and

“Good morning, brother,”

With his eyes covered by Da Bao Bei, Gu Ming responded in a somewhat weary tone,

“Good morning.”

Whether out of jealousy or some other reason, Mia directly pulled Gu Ming’s head out and deeply kissed him. Then she got up like a sprite and ran to her room. Gu Ming, who had regained his sight, was somewhat dazed. But before he could recover from the surprise, another voice interrupted his thoughts.

“Good morning master brother,”

Tina pouted her lips and for some reason slowly wiped Gu Ming’s lips with her finger before planting another good morning kiss on them.

After the kiss, Tina stretched lazily and left the scene as well. Before leaving she didn’t forget to remind Gu Ming that today was the day to report to the academy.

After both of them left, Gu Ming touched his own lips on the bed and suddenly smiled,

“Ahh… indeed.”

He changed into a school uniform after getting off the bed then leisurely walked downstairs.

After breakfast, three people arrived at the entrance of academy. A very familiar figure jogged towards them.

“Hello big brother! Hello sister-in-law!”

Gu ming looked at Lance in front of him with some scrutiny. Although he had given him a considerable reward yesterday it was unlikely that this would make Lance so respectful towards him,

20 gold coins might seem like a lot in ordinary people’s eyes but it definitely wasn’t enough to bribe an academy guard here in Royal Academy. With this thought in mind gu ming decided to see what lance was up to today.

“Lance my dear boy why are you here? I’m afraid I can’t accept your ‘big brother’ title”

Lance respectfully replied,

“Oh come now Brother Gu where is this coming from? You absolutely deserve this ‘big brother’ title”

Gu ming responded with a smile asking,

“Why do you say so Lance? I’m just a newcomer after all.”

Lance knew that his sudden approach would naturally make Gu Ming somewhat wary, so he quickly explained,

“I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t recognize your greatness yesterday. I hope you can forgive me, oh and…”

He then stuffed 30 gold coins into Gu Ming’s pocket, not forgetting to express his loyalty as he spoke,

“Please accept this from me.”

Gu Ming sized up Lance in front of him and after a moment of thought, understood the cause and effect of the situation. It was likely that Lance had overheard about his fifth-level strength during a conversation with Sherry yesterday.

Accepting Lance wasn’t a big deal; having more friends meant more paths. As a former gatekeeper, Lance should have deep knowledge about the school. Gu Ming currently needed such subordinates to gather information for him. Besides, it would be impolite to refuse when someone was being so sincere. However, if he wanted to use him effectively, some intimidation was necessary.

“I could accept you,” said Gu Ming cautiously,” but I just arrived here and don’t know you well yet. How do I know if one day you might betray me?”

“This…”

This left Lance stumped; his face showed some struggle. Of course, Gu Ming noticed all this – if Lance had immediately agreed with him without hesitation or consideration it wouldn’t have been believable – people usually weigh their options carefully since no one likes their weaknesses in others’ hands.

Seeing that he probably didn’t have any ulterior motives,Gu Ming stopped giving him a hard time and laughed,

“Just kidding! If Brother Lan is willing to be my brother,I’d be thrilled! From now on,I’ll rely on you.”

Lance quickly waved his hand,

“Don’t say that, brother. You can call me Little Lan.”

“Let’s forget ‘Little Lan’. From now on,I’ll just call you by your name.”

“As per your command,brother.”

Gu Ming patted his shoulder and put the gold coins back into Lance’s pocket,

“You deserve these, there’s no need for this.”

With tears in his eyes, Lance looked at Gu Ming and said,

“Brother, I’ve wasted half my life lamenting not having met a good leader. If you don’t mind,I’d like to pledge my loyalty to you. From now on,I’ll follow you through thick and thin, ready to assist you in any way possible.”

Listening to the familiar jargon, Gu Ming looked at the boy strangely and sneered at his words.

“Damn, you kid…”

After calming his emotions, Gu Ming left a sentence “I should go and report now, see you later,” and walked into the academy.

“Brother, brother this classroom is so big it’s almost as big as our house.”

“Mm, it is quite large.”

Gu Ming nodded in agreement. The classroom was indeed astonishingly large. It could easily accommodate hundreds of people. Moreover, the desks and chairs in the classroom were obviously expensive ones. The main style was opulence; it was truly worthy of royal standards.

The bell rang for class to start. Gu Ming and two others orderly found seats against the wall.

Soon a middle-aged man wearing a blue mage robe walked in.

Mage robes are ranked from low to high (grey, orange, red, green, cyan blue , purple , white/black). Each rank represents a color; currently mages can only reach up to eighth rank. But why does an eighth-rank mage robe have both black and white?

This is actually due to the existence of dark mages; their robes are essentially an embodiment of their magical attributes and status. The reason why dark mages’ robes turn black is due to long-term exposure to dark magic.

Their robes actually carry some black with each promotion but it’s not noticeable until they reach eighth rank which marks a transitional stage where they can begin touching upon rules of Fantasy Continent slowly.

And where are all these rules? They’re held by world wills which aren’t just one entity but two who like using black & white colors dividing battlefield hence mage robe colors became like this.

“Hello everyone,” he began warmly “Welcome to Royal Academy! My name is Fortri Dis – your Elemental Magic teacher! I know many freshmen here are already powerful magicians but please don’t be arrogant or impatient. Being a magician is an endless journey of learning, same goes for warrior professions. I wish everyone here can achieve remarkable results before graduation.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the stage was filled with thunderous applause. Dis pressed his hand down to quiet them and continued,

“Thank you all! Let’s get started with our lesson now without further ado. As you all know, our magic elements are divided into eight types: wind, fire, earth, water, light, dark , thunder and wood; we further divide magicians of these eight elements into spirit magicians and elemental magicians…”

Just as the lecture was

“You’ve missed half the class, I wonder if you still regard me as your teacher,”

“Please don’t say that, teacher. In my eyes, you’ve always been a towering figure.”

Dis responded with a smile,

“It’s okay, I’ve already informed your mother about your tardiness.”

“Oh man, you really got me there.”

“Not at all. You’re the one who doesn’t seem embarrassed. I really want to kick you.”

The atmosphere between them remained amicable throughout this exchange of questions and answers. But just then, Moore turned his back to Dis and provocatively pointed his rear towards him.

“Teacher, is this position okay?”

This immediately stiffened Dis’ expression. He wished he could pull out his belt right then and there to discipline this insolent child.

Unable to contain his anger any longer, he kicked Moore over onto the ground and shouted furiously,

“Get out of here now! You’re an embarrassment!”

After getting up from the ground and rubbing his injured buttock, Moore walked straight towards the front steps while mumbling under his breath,

“What’s wrong with being an embarrassment? After all, wasn’t it you who raised such an embarrassment? And if I’m an embarrassment what does that make you?”

Thinking that he had successfully mocked Dis without him noticing; little did Moore know that Dis’ face had turned as black as a pot bottom by now. Even the elemental waves around him were about to fly out; faint red sparks filled in air – it seemed like tonight Moore would understand what “When a father sees his son misbehaving so badly he wants to take off his belt” truly meant.
