Chapter 715: Chapter 37 Crossfire
" All heart rates are fine. Report your situation delta team."
The team leader of the world security team asked the confirmation of their status while looking at the display with a frown on his face because everything went normally to his surprise without any mishaps.
" Delta is clear. We have found a new tunnel. Now entering the area. Buzz* Oh God!"
The delta team lowered his radio with a shock on his face, looking at the caverns filled with unknown eggs-like things which were surrounded by the green gas that obstructed their vision.
" What the hell is this, Marcus? We need to get back. I don't like this."
Marcus gulped with fear on his face taking out a vial from his pocket to gesture to his men to collect a sample for labs.
" Relax, AL. This isn't something that we should be wary of. Look these things are hard as shit."
Kim kicked the egg with his boot, laughing with mocking in his tone because he found it quite funny seeing Al who was a veteran of war, freak out from something like this.
" Don't get close to that shit, man. I tell you these things are bad news because I felt the same thing when I faced superhumans."
Just as they were arguing, one of the eggs opened its mouth, spitting out a creature that resembled a scorpion and spider yet it wasn't them. It was far from an insect and it looked terrifying.
" Wait, Kim. One of them is missing. Look something was here and now it is gone."
Kim turned his head to ask what Brett meant by that but instead of Brett's face, he saw a long creature dashing toward him with incredible speed.
" Shit! What the hell!"
He pulled out his rifle, shooting it toward the creature but it slipped into one of the cracks as his jaws almost hit the floor. All the hair on his body instantly rose from the shock while he didn't know what just happened.
" Shit, something is here, guys. Raise your pals. We have a company."
Marcus gulped with anxiety while taking a step back to the main tunnel but it was too late.
Crack, open*
The eggs opened simultaneously under their horror, shooting out gas at them. Their survival instincts immediately kicked in after seeing this horror show and they shouted.
" Run! There are hundreds of them here. Find others!"
Marcus roared with a pale expression, pulling his gun out whilst running back to lead his men. Then he pressed his radio as he panted while running in the caverns.
" Delta, what is wrong?"
Marcus didn't say anything except diving into the situation to warn his teammates and heroes even though they had differences.
" We are under attack. These things are hatching creatures in large amounts. Still unknown but a high alert is required. Hundreds of them are here in the caverns."
The world council team leader's face fell as he didn't hesitate before getting out of the command center while wearing his winter ops clothes. The time was running thin and he understood Marcus's implications already.
The chilly cold wind hit his face, waking him up to the reality while he made his way to
Eden camp.
Open, zip*
" What do you need, Mr. Sollick? Do you need another argument?"
Sollick didn't say anything except throw a few files to him as Phil raised his eyebrows with surprise. He quickly skimmed through the files, changing his expression every minute to match this horror story.
" Chris, we have a problem. Pull out your teammates. We need to destroy this place because this is a nest-type of habitant."
Chris who was on the other side, ordered others to retreat right away because he knew the potential hazard of nest-type habitant creatures. Nest-type creatures would be often in large numbers and they hunted in packs. Moreover, he knew what was the creature and how dangerous they were, so wasting time was pointless.
" What about the world council team? Did they leave yet?"
Phil remained silent, prompting that they were still in the caverns with his expression. Chris took a deep breath, putting away the radio with a calm face to think.
" We are saving them."
He then put on his gear because he was a guardian and he was the guardian of the people.
