Tokyo: From Lawless Madpolice to Minister

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Investigator Who Failed to Infiltrate and Was Captured

"Dumbass! Stop! Ah! Maggot!"

Xiu Xin's eyelids felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, no matter how hard he tried, they wouldn't open, and his mind was groggy—as if half-asleep, barely aware. Then, a series of barely familiar Japanese phrases that he could faintly make out entered his ears, making him curse internally.

Damn it, which uneducated jerk watches videos with the volume up?

I'm shut up in here, tsk, despicable!

Wait a minute, why does my head hurt so much?

Before Xu Tianze could think further, a flood of memories that weren't his own swamped his mind and, after a brief moment of confusion, he finally realized his current predicament.

He... had traveled through time.

Originally, he was a businessman in America who mainly managed talent import projects for the Underworld—responsible for taking money to send certain people down below.

Commonly known as a hitman.

As a standard-bearer in the industry, emotionless, yet wealthy, he had earned enough money and was just about to retire early and wash his hands clean of his past when he woke up to find his soul had crossed over to a Japanese body in the year 1992!

Now, he was Aoyama Xiu Xin, a police officer from the Tokyo Shinjuku Police Station's firearms and drugs tactics unit.

As time passed, his groggy brain became increasingly clearer, and he noticed more that was amiss.

Was he... bound up?

"Idiot! Chongtian, I swear I'll catch you myself, you bastard! I'll throw you in jail!"

"Oh, is that so? But you, Miss Policewoman, seem unable to even save yourself right now."

The woman's angry rebuke and the man's provocatively mocking voice echoed in his ears; Aoyama Xiu Xin finally managed to lift his heavy eyelids after several attempts.

It turned out no one was watching videos aloud.

Holy shit, this was like being in a movie!

The scene before him was a bit confusing.

It looked like an underground room, and he was tied to a chair, seemingly after a severe beating, with multiple injuries on his body, looking quite ragged.

Another woman was tied to a chair beside him.

Egg-shaped face, about twenty-five or twenty-six years old, with a small mole at the corner of her right eye, dressed in a black OL (office lady) uniform, her shoulder-length hair somewhat disheveled, and tight ropes accentuating her provocatively sexy curves.

One of her high heels had fallen aside, her nylon-covered petite foot stepped on the cold ground, and the stockings clinging to her leg skin were slightly torn, exhibiting numerous red, swollen whip marks—it was clear she too had recently been beaten.

Aoyama Xiu Xin knew her—Asai Ling, his direct superior, the beloved daughter of the Shinjuku Police Station Chief.

Standing before Asai Ling was a man in his thirties dressed in a black suit, holding a cell phone. In Aoyama Xiu Xin's memory, he was known as Chongtian Koji, the leader of the Violent Gang Sakura Formation.

There were also three tattoo-covered thugs at the entrance of the basement, likely his subordinates.

A beautiful policewoman and her male subordinate held hostage by the Black Society, the situation before him was such that he suspected he might have crossed into a Detective series of some sort.

What on earth was going on?

Aoyama Xiu Xin recalled the sequence of events.

Since Asai Ling always felt that her colleagues secretly looked down on her for being a second-generation official, she constantly wanted to make some big news, crack a big case to prove her abilities.

Therefore, she had set her sights on Chongtian, who was suspected of drug trafficking, and personally led the original host to investigate. Unexpectedly, they had blundered upon what seemed to be a suspected drug manufacturing site.

Asai Ling led him to secretly infiltrate and gather evidence.

But they exposed themselves during the retreat.

And now, they ended up in this situation.

Aoyama Xiu Xin couldn't help but want to curse aloud. The second-generation official should have just waited for her dear daddy to pave the way for her.

What's the point of proving anything unnecessary!

Damn it! Harmful to others and oneself.

Chongtian Koji was the first to notice that Aoyama Xiu Xin was awake. He poked Aoyama's face with the cell phone he held and taunted, "Look who finally woke up, you piece of trash who can't take a beating. You seem pretty angry, huh? Do you want revenge? Too bad, you're doomed to never get the chance."

"There's no wall that doesn't leak air in this world, Chongtian. If you dare kill a cop and the matter comes to light, neither the law nor the underworld will let you off," Aoyama Xiu Xin pushed aside his internal irritation, calmed down, and said as he looked up at the other man.

"Idiot!" Chongtian Koji's face, full of mockery, instantly froze, and his emotions burst out abruptly. He swore furiously, charged in front of Aoyama Xiu Xin, grabbed his collar, and roared in a low growl, "It's you two damn jerks who made me do this! Tell me, what else can I do if I don't kill you? What can I do? Want me to turn myself in, you dumbass! Ah? Ah! Speak up!"

Chongtian's breathing was rapid and heavy, and his face twitched slightly, showing the fury within.

He didn't want to do something so risky as killing cops, but with the factory exposed, he had no choice but to take risks and silence them both. He was in despair too!

"I can work with you," Aoyama Xiu Xin said calmly, his gaze slyly scanning the handgun under Chongtian's coat.

Chongtian Koji froze on the spot.

Asai Ling also widened her eyes and stared intently at Xiu Xin.

"The Sakura Formation just happens to operate within Shinjuku Police Station's jurisdiction. If the police had someone loyal only to you on the inside, Chongtian-kun, everything you do would likely become much easier," Aoyama Xiu Xin continued, disregarding the bafflement and shock of the two.

"Idiot! Aoyama Xiu Xin, what the hell are you babbling about?" Asai Ling glared at Aoyama Xiu Xin with a face full of anger, shouting through gritted teeth, "You're actually willing to side with the Violent Gang just to save your own skin!"

Aoyama Xiu Xin ignored the innocent yet stupid woman, still intently focusing on Chongtian Koji.

And Chongtian Koji stared back, just as intently.
